Chapter 230 Want to Come Over to My Place?
Simon said, "Come on. We can talk things through!"
Juniper sneered, "Didn't you just say that if I didn't agree, the collaboration would be over? I don't like forcing people, and I hate it even more when people change their minds. We agreed on the terms initially, and now you want to change them? Are you kidding me? I'm very picky. If a partner is unreliable, it's better to part ways early so we don't waste each other's time. Don't you think?"
Simon sat up straight. "How am I unreliable?"
"So, do you want to renegotiate or not?"
"Probably not." He decided to bear with it.
"That's more like it."
Simon mumbled, "I came all the way here and haven't even had dinner yet."
"What did you say? Why are you mumbling like that? Can't you speak up?"
"I said I'm hungry!"
Juniper was taken aback, thinking he was secretly cursing her. "You don't have money for food?"
Simon got angry instantly. "I've been waiting outside your door for a whole hour. Where was I supposed to eat?"
Juniper pouted, "It's not like I asked you to wait. Don't blame others if you're being stupid."
Simon was infuriated!
In the end, Juniper made him a cup of instant noodles.
As Simon ate, he complained, "Couldn't you offer me something better?"
Juniper, sitting on the other end of the couch playing with her phone, didn't even look up, "Eat, or leave."
Simon had nothing to say.
He even drank the soup clean.
Juniper gave him a disdainful look, "You've eaten, so when are you leaving?"
Simon leaned back on the couch, patting his stomach comfortably. "Got anything to drink? Something cold would be great."
Juniper raised an eyebrow. "Do you really think I'm your maid?"
"Don't get mad. You women always get mad so easily. Can't you have a better temper?"
"No."
Simon had no choice but to get up and open the fridge himself.
There wasn't much food, but there were plenty of drinks.
He grabbed a soda, took a few gulps, and let out a satisfied burp.
Juniper said with disdain, "Can you not make such disgusting noises?"
He took a sip and burped again.
Juniper decided to leave him be.
On a scorching summer afternoon, the atmosphere was indeed lazy. The two of them bickered back and forth, filling the house with chatter.
Simon stubbornly refused to leave.
Juniper was getting a headache.
She swore to block Simon from her social media updates in the future!
Meanwhile, Camilla woke up from her nap and read two more papers.
Sitting for too long, she got up to stretch.
She walked to the kitchen to prepare a fruit platter.
One downside of summer was that fruit peels attracted mosquitoes easily.
After peeling the fruit, she tied up the trash bag and planned to leave it outside the door temporarily, intending to take it down when she went out in the evening.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw the door next door wide open, with several workers crowded in Sebastian's living room, talking.
Sebastian came out of the bedroom. "I've tried it; the bedroom air conditioner isn't working either."
One of the workers clapped his hands. "Well, it must be the outdoor unit that's the problem."
Camilla blinked. "Sebastian, is your air conditioner broken?"
Sebastian looked at her. "You're home?"
Camilla replied, "Yeah, it's Saturday."
Sebastian smiled wryly and pointed at the air conditioner. "It broke this morning."
His forehead was covered in sweat, and his shirt was soaked, clinging tightly to his chest and back.
Camilla, who had just come out of an air-conditioned room, felt hot just looking at him. "The workers are fixing it. Want to come over to my place for a bit? I have the air conditioner on."
Sebastian was stunned. "Is it okay?"
