Chapter 325 Boundless Lab!
The spectacle left everyone stunned.
People craned their necks to look up, murmuring their amazement.
After a moment's thought, Camilla walked over to him.
Marcus seemed surprised by her approach.
"Thank you," Camilla said, stopping in front of him with sincere eyes. "You arranged for those reporters to come, didn't you?"
"Otis contacted two news outlets, clearly expecting your lab to fail. He wanted to create a scandal to make you look bad to the administration. I simply played along and helped amplify the coverage—so when the tables turned, it would make their humiliation all the more public."
Marcus kept one reason to himself.
He had warned Otis multiple times, but Otis never seemed to take him seriously.
If that was the case, Otis couldn't blame him for taking matters into his own hands.
Some people never learned their lesson until they were taught the hard way.
And if they still didn't learn after being taught once, it meant the lesson wasn't harsh enough.
Nearby, Felix nudged Aurora's shoulder while applauding. "Feel better now? Camilla isn't someone who takes bullying lying down. She's got a strong will—building this lab practically overnight! When I got the invitation, I nearly had a heart attack!"
Aurora nodded with satisfaction. "Camilla certainly has conviction and knows how to fight back."
She sighed. "Much stronger than I ever was."
Felix heard the regret in her voice and scoffed. "Even so, she's still our student. We must have done something right!"
Aurora was speechless.
As the ceremony concluded, Camilla invited Aurora to name the laboratory.
Hestia and Royce arranged a table with paper and brushes.
Aurora approached the table, pondered for a moment, and said, "Science is limitless, exploration has no bounds." Then she wrote down: Boundless Lab!
Otis left with Calliope, but Ignatius stayed behind, as did Azalea.
From the moment she arrived, Azalea hadn't uttered a single sarcastic or mocking word.
Despite Otis and Calliope's constant negativity, Azalea remained silent.
She glanced at the man beside her, her tone tinged with regret and shame, "I never imagined Professor Ross would be that kind of person."
Leopold had come too—as Azalea's boyfriend.
Unlike Sebastian, who had academic standing and connections, or Marcus, who had contributed significantly to establishing the lab, Leopold hadn't even received an invitation from Camilla.
He remembered asking for one when signing the consent forms, saying he'd like to attend the opening if possible.
But Camilla seemed genuinely unwilling to see him again.
Though Camilla didn't want to see him, Leopold couldn't resist coming.
Perhaps he wanted to witness Camilla's success, to see her in her moment of pride.
And see her he did!
Camilla stood surrounded by people, her smile radiant, full of vitality.
Her confident poise while presenting the lab, her eloquence while mingling with guests—Camilla shone like the sun, emitting dazzling light.
Leopold was reminded of the Camilla from their college days, equally confident, graceful, and brilliant.
It had been love at first sight back then.
But during their relationship, especially after the company went public and Camilla was essentially confined at home, her smile had become like sugar frosting laced with poison—turning from sweet to bitter as her vitality gradually faded.
Only after leaving Leopold did Camilla rediscover her purpose, slowly regaining her former radiance.
Realizing he had ultimately lost Camilla, the fascination in Leopold's eyes gave way to profound regret.
Standing beside him, Azalea silently observed the changes in his expression. Maintaining her composure, she took his arm.
Leopold turned to her, puzzled.
Azalea smiled. "Since we're here to congratulate them and brought a gift, we should present it personally to show our sincerity."
With that, she led Leopold forward. "Congratulations, Camilla! I wasn't sure what you'd like, so Leopold and I chose this together. We hope your lab produces abundant results and achievements."
"Thank you," Camilla responded calmly, her gaze fixed solely on Azalea, not sparing Leopold a single glance.
Leopold's free hand clenched into a fist at his side.
Ignatius and Irvin also took the opportunity to offer their congratulations.
Clutching his gift nervously, Ignatius wasn't as eloquent as Azalea. He awkwardly presented his offering. "Congratulations. These are herb sachets—nothing expensive, my mother made them. You can hang them anywhere; they help clear the mind and repel insects."
He had brought three sachets.
Not just for Camilla, but for Hestia and Royce as well.
As he handed them out, Ignatius felt anxious, worried his gift might seem too modest, yet unable to afford anything more extravagant.
To his surprise, the trio showed no disdain—quite the contrary, they seemed genuinely pleased.
Hestia held hers, examining it curiously.
The sachet contained unknown medicinal herbs with an initially strong scent that proved remarkably invigorating.
After a while, the intensity faded, evolving into something more harmonious.
How fascinating!
A simple herbal sachet with distinct top notes and base notes, like fine perfume.
"Thank you. We all appreciate these gifts," said Camilla, inspecting hers closely and noticing the hand-embroidered design.
Hers featured a white cat, Hestia's a golden cicada, and Royce's three stalks of wheat.
To show her appreciation, Hestia personally poured Ignatius a glass of water. "You helped me pick up my things last time, and I never properly thanked you. Now you've given us these gifts—the least I can do is offer you some water!"
Ignatius waved his hands dismissively, his cheeks flushing. "No need for such courtesy. It's nothing valuable."
"Haven't you heard the saying 'Small gift, big heart'?"
This made Ignatius blush completely.
To ease his embarrassment, he cleared his throat. "May I see your laboratory?"
Royce tucked away his sachet and stepped forward. "I'll show you around."
"Thank you."
As Royce led the two visitors through the facility, he explained various features, occasionally demonstrating how to use the smart systems.
The expressions on Ignatius and Irvin's faces went beyond mere shock.
The further they ventured inside, the more they saw, and the more excited they became.
The workbenches displayed an array of sophisticated equipment, all bearing manufacturing dates from the last two years—cutting-edge technology. Some instruments Ignatius had only ever seen in scientific journals.
If he remembered correctly, one such device cost around $100,000, and he had already spotted three in this laboratory!
