Chapter 180 Let Camilla Call You Uncle
The dishes were ready and served.
Bella opened the red wine, and Camilla was allowed to have a little.
She ended up drinking two whole glasses!
Alistair was busy talking, Bella was focused on the food, and no one noticed Camilla except Sebastian.
Sebastian said, "Camilla, that's your third glass."
Camilla's hand froze as she reached for the wine bottle.
Only then did Alistair and Bella realize she had drunk so much.
"I said a little, not one glass after another!" Bella almost laughed in exasperation.
She also loved red wine but always stopped at the right amount, unlike Camilla.
Alistair also looked disapproving, but his focus was elsewhere. "Sebastian really lives up to being a researcher, so meticulous! No wonder you've achieved such remarkable academic success at such a young age."
Indeed, Alistair had thoroughly researched Sebastian's accomplishments in the field of physics through various channels.
He was constantly amazed, never stopping.
Bella even said to Camilla, "Your dad is obsessed."
Camilla hadn't felt it before, as Sebastian's academic achievements were only known to those in the academic circle and were indeed outstanding and incredible.
But at this moment, she fully agreed with the term "obsessed" because her dad could praise him for anything.
Camilla seriously thought her dad had a preference for Sebastian and it's a very serious one!
"Sebastian. You're so attentive to Camilla, noticing even the smallest details. As her father, I feel ashamed," Alistair said, taking a sip of wine.
Suddenly, he put down his glass and said solemnly, "Why don't you consider me your brother from now on, and let Camilla call you Uncle Sebastian?"
Bella almost spat out the red wine she had just drunk.
Camilla and Sebastian were both shocked.
Seeing no one responding, Alistair nodded to himself, "This is good, the more I think about it, the better it sounds! You see, Bella and I are usually in Starlight City, and Camilla is alone in Imperial City with no one to look after her."
"You're steady, meticulous, and capable. You can take care of her in both life and studies. I'm just thinking it's good to have an elder to care for her in an unfamiliar place."
Every time Alistair said "elder" or "uncle," Sebastian's brow twitched.
Seeing Alistair getting more and more enthusiastic, Bella finally reacted.
She snatched the wine glass from his hand. "What nonsense are you talking about? A few more sips and you lose your direction, saying anything that comes to mind! Sebastian is too young to be your daughter's uncle! How could you even think of that!"
Sebastian sat stiffly in his chair, frozen.
He silently gave Bella a thumbs-up in his mind.
Camilla also realized at this moment and quickly apologized, "Sorry, Sebastian, my dad is like this when he drinks too much. Don't mind him."
What could Sebastian say?
What dared he say?
"It's okay, Alistair is drunk, I won't take it to heart."
"Who's drunk? I'm not drunk!" Alistair looked at his wife, then at Camilla, and finally, his clear gaze fell on Sebastian. "Sebastian, I truly consider you a brother."
"Enough!" Bella finally ordered, and Alistair stopped continuing the topic.
After finally finishing the meal, Sebastian felt relieved when he got up to leave.
Alistair said, "Camilla, see Sebastian out."
Sebastian couldn't think of a word to say, exhausted.
"Okay." Camilla got up.
Maybe the red wine was kicking in, she felt dizzy, and her reactions were a bit slow.
But her expression remained normal.
Her gaze was still clear.
She saw Sebastian to the door, and as soon as they stepped out, the door behind them was blown shut with a bang.
There wasn't much to see him off, as he lived next door.
She waved at Sebastian, and whether it was the alcohol or a slip of the tongue, she blurted out, "Bye, Uncle Sebastian."
Sebastian stopped in his tracks, suddenly turned to look at her, his gaze deep like two bottomless whirlpools.
He stepped closer, enunciating each word, "What did you call me?"
The rising tone carried a strange danger.
It sent a tingling current through Camilla's ears.
She looked up hesitantly, their eyes met, and she was caught off guard by Sebastian's gaze.
It took a full five seconds for Camilla to react.
Whether out of embarrassment or genuine drunkenness, her cheeks flushed red.
Then the redness spread, reaching her ears, turning them completely red.
Camilla's clear eyes seemed washed by mountain springs, clean and pure, accompanied by her lip-biting action, gradually showing embarrassment.
"Sorry, I don't know how I ended up calling you that."
Camilla covered her burning cheeks in frustration, wishing she could faint on the spot.
At this moment, Sebastian chuckled softly. "Will you dare to drink too much next time?"
Sebastian had noticed before that Camilla had a bit into drinking, not just drinking with Juniper to drown her sorrows and wanting to bring out beer when inviting him to dinner.
Unexpectedly, she dared to drink glass after glass in front of her parents this time.
"You really have guts!" He said, lightly tapping her on the head.
The action stunned both of them.
Sebastian was shocked by his quick hand, knowing it was inappropriate to do so, as it was too intimate for a girl and could easily cause misunderstandings, but his actions had already responded.
Camilla was also stunned.
Sebastian's touch was light, almost just brushing her hair.
Half of her daze was due to being drunk, slowing her reactions; the other half was...
"Sebastian, do you know that being tapped on the head can make me stupid?"
Sebastian replied, "Now I know."
"Then what if I become stupid?"
"You..."
"If I become stupid, how can I participate in academic competitions! How can I win gold medals!"
Sebastian was stunned.
Academic competitions?
Gold medals?
He was silent for a moment, "Camilla, how old are you now?"
"Fifteen years old."
He thought, 'Yeah, she's really drunk.'
