Chapter 285 Snow Scenery
Camilla quickly got herself ready, threw on her puffer jacket, and dashed downstairs while wrapping her scarf around her neck.
When she reached the bottom, she saw a bunch of kids already outside, each with their own gear, having a blast in the snow.
The first snowfall of the winter was always a big deal.
Standing a bit away from the crowd, Sebastian was under a snow-covered tree, smiling at her.
Camilla's eyes lit up, and she immediately ran over.
It wasn't until she got closer that she noticed a round bucket at his feet, filled with snowball makers, small shovels, plastic rakes...
And there were multiple snowball makers, each in different shapes.
"These..." Camilla stammered.
Sebastian grinned. "For you to play with."
She said, a bit embarrassed, "I'm not a kid!"
But two minutes later, Camilla was waving excitedly, "Sebastian! Look at this duck! Doesn't it look just like one? And this little dinosaur, it's so cute!"
"Sebastian, use this little shovel to get me some clean snow from over there, it has to be all white, no dirt..." Camilla was over the moon and kept talking non-stop.
Many neighbors passing by gave her curious looks.
No wonder, she had never seen such heavy snow before!
She was having the time of her life.
Sebastian watched her play, occasionally following her instructions, running around like her little helper, and he was having a great time too.
Meanwhile, Hector was scratching his head in the lab. "What time is it? Why isn't Sebastian here yet? Both sets of data from yesterday had issues, and we're waiting for him to fix them!"
Darren was surprised. "Hector, you're waiting for Sebastian?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Sebastian took the day off today."
"Took the day off? When did he do that? How come I didn't know!"
"Sebastian sent an email late last night, saying that while he's away, you're in charge of the lab."
Hector was puzzled; he had been at work since early morning, and it felt like everything was falling apart.
Betty walked to the window. "The first snowfall of the winter, it's really beautiful. It would be perfect if we could visit the Celestial Palace Museum to admire the snow."
Darren sighed, "Betty, give it up. I tried to get tickets on the app last night and couldn't get any."
"Darren, you're quite the romantic, wanting to go to the Celestial Palace Museum to see the snow."
"With all the buzz online about the large-scale promotional videos and influencers flocking there, I just want to be part of the excitement."
"Taking Doris?"
"Yeah! What's the point of going alone? It's more fun with two people."
Betty thought for a moment. "Then you should practice your photography skills first."
Darren, in all seriousness. "I've been learning, watching a lot of video tutorials online recently."
Betty was just teasing, but Darren had already thought ahead.
She gave him a thumbs up, but her eyes couldn't help but show a bit of wistfulness.
Darren just laughed foolishly, not noticing anything.
Betty sighed, thinking, 'This is good too.'
"Celestial Palace Museum? Now?" Camilla blinked.
After playing in the snow downstairs for half an hour, her gloves were completely soaked, so she had to take them off.
After a few more minutes, her fingers were as cold as ice.
Sebastian wouldn't let her keep playing, so he confiscated her snow play tools. Then he turned around and prepared to go back.
"Sebastian, don't walk so fast!" Camilla hurried to catch up.
Finally catching up, Sebastian turned around, looking at her with a mix of amusement and exasperation. "Is it really that fun?"
Camilla nodded enthusiastically. "Yes!"
Sebastian sighed. "But your gloves and scarf are all wet."
"It's okay!" Camilla quickly replied.
"Fifteen minutes ago, you said the same thing and promised you'd go home after playing a little longer."
Camilla was taken aback. Did she really say that? She couldn't remember!
Sebastian continued, "Let's go. If you want to keep playing, you need to go back and change your gloves, scarf, and shoes first."
Camilla looked down and realized her boots were completely soaked. She hadn't even noticed, but Sebastian did.
"Alright then." She reluctantly followed him upstairs but took the opportunity to grab the round bucket from Sebastian, which held her snow play tools. "Sebastian, I'll carry this."
Sebastian didn't say anything.
Camilla looked innocent and blurted out, "I wasn't planning to play secretly."
After saying that, she wished she hadn't spoken.
Sebastian just shook his head, smiling.
As if knowing what she was planning, after Camilla changed from head to toe, Sebastian knocked on her door again.
"Sebastian, what's wrong?" Camilla asked.
"Want to go to the Celestial Palace Museum to see the snow?"
"Now?"
"Yes."
"But I saw the tickets were sold out."
Sebastian smirked. "With me, you don't need tickets."
Camilla was shocked! Only a fool wouldn't go!
They set off immediately.
Sebastian led her past the long queue at the entrance and entered through a small side door.
Once inside, they were in the palace's backyard.
Circling to the front, there was a well and an apricot tree.
Going out through the front door, they reached the spacious main gate square.
The next second, Camilla was stunned by the beautiful scenery in front of her.
Camilla ran to a corridor, snowflakes flying around, and smiled back. "Sebastian! Hurry up! Why are you standing there? The snow is falling on your head!"
Sebastian fell into deep thought; such a scene made him feel that life was worth living.
"Sebastian?" Camilla called him again.
Sebastian smiled. "I am coming."
By evening, Camilla and Sebastian finally got home.
They had already eaten out.
Even after taking a bath and lying in bed, Camilla's mind was still filled with the snowy scenes from the Celestial Palace Museum.
It was truly beautiful!
And thinking about Sebastian watching the snow with her filled her heart with warmth.
After getting the informed consent form, Camilla made another trip to the relevant department, and this time, she completed all the procedures without any issues.
Now, the money, land, and approvals were all in place, and the next step was to start construction!
But before that, there were still many issues to address.
For example, how should the lab be built? Which construction company to hire? How to design it? What specific requirements are there, and so on.
Designing and specifying requirements wasn't difficult. Camilla spent a day organizing the design requirements and even drew a simple blueprint.
So now, the only problem the three of them faced was finding a construction company!
Since they were building their own lab, it had to be done well.
