Chapter 110 Handsome Men Are Foolish
Robert turned around and saw Quinn. Knowing she disliked the smell of smoke, he instinctively put out his cigarette.
Seeing his action, Quinn instantly relaxed. She knew Robert wouldn't blame her and wouldn't even hurt her, no matter what she did.
"What brings you here?" Robert asked.
Quinn, holding a launch box, said, "Robert, I made your favorite seafood soup for breakfast."
In those tough days abroad, Quinn's soup was the only thing that could make him full of hope. They sat in the hospital restaurant.
Quinn opened the lunch box and served Robert a bowl. Robert took a few sips.
"Is it good? Does it taste the same as before?" asked Quinn, her eyes gentle and full of expectation.
"It's delicious."
Quinn served another bowl, but her hand trembled, spilling it and scalding her hand. She cried out in pain.
Robert quickly carried her to the sink, ran cold water over her hand, and called a nurse for treatment. While the nurse applied the ointment, Quinn buried her face in Robert's chest, holding onto his shirt. She cried, and her tears wet Robert’s shirt.
Robert frowned and scolded the nurse. "Can't you be more careful?"
The nurse, frightened, almost dropped the ointment.
Robert's concern made Quinn happy, and she pretended to be magnanimous. "Robert, I'm fine. Don't worry."
Only then did Robert calm down. After applying the ointment, Robert went to the restroom to clean the soup stains. As he passed the nurse's station, he overheard two nurses chatting.
"Did you see the man who came with the woman from the VIP ward yesterday?"
"Which one?"
"I mean the one with a scar on his forehead. He looks a bit fierce but very handsome and charming."
"That guy, what about him?"
"He was just hugging a woman in the VIP area. I had to treat her burn, but she was so good at pretending. She cried in the man's arms, saying it hurt. I bet if I had come later, she would have recovered on her own."
"There are so many women like her now. Learn from them. Only those who cry can get men’s attention and concern. Look at the one lying in the hospital bed. She's been beaten, and her face is disfigured, but she doesn't get any sympathy because she doesn't cry."
"Handsome men are foolish now. It really shattered my fantasy of the love with handsome guys." The two walked away, but Robert stood still, his hands clenched into fists. Molly's bloodied appearance came to his mind again, like an unforgettable nightmare. Just thinking about it made him inexplicably anxious and uncomfortable. He had tried his best not to see her and not to think about her. But his mind was beyond his control.
After a long time, Robert returned to the rest area, where Quinn was still waiting for him, holding up her injured hand. She wanted a hug. Robert couldn't help but be distracted, thinking about what the nurse had said.
Quinn shook Robert and coquettishly said, "Robert, can I ask you for a favor?" Her relatives had caused trouble for Robert. In fact, if it weren't for the vase hitting Molly, it would not be a big problem.
The vase was handed over to the man by Quinn, and she wished it had killed Molly!
Robert was somewhat distracted, "What is it?"
"It's just that those people yesterday were all my relatives. They were just excited when they heard about Molly's situation. That's why they did something wrong. Can you forgive them?" Robert's gaze was deep, and the sharpness in his eyes made Quinn’s heart skip a beat.
He pinched his fingers and said, "Quinn, I think I told you last time that you can’t hit Molly's face."
Quinn's face turned pale.
Robert said, "Don't worry about this. I'll take care of these people." It seemed that Robert would not let those people go.
Quinn gritted her teeth, wondering what kind of prestige she would have in the family in the future. Those people were all instigated by her. She said in a weak voice, "It's all my fault for being confused yesterday. I shouldn't have let Miss Koch provoke me. I should have stopped them."
Robert asked with a blank expression, "What did she say?"
Quinn hesitated for a moment and said, "Promise me first that you won't get angry after you hear it."
"Okay."
"Miss Koch said that if it weren't for you to support the Koch family's business, she wouldn't want to sleep with you at all. She finds you disgusting and thinks your scars are like centipedes. She has nightmares if she looks at them for too long." Quinn looked at Robert's face, which was getting colder and colder. She deliberately said angrily, "Robert, I'm angry. I don't mind if you play around with women outside, but I won't allow anyone to say that about you."
Robert's eyebrows and eyes revealed a hint of anger, and the veins on the back of his hand stood out as he slowly clenched his fist. He thought of Molly's resistance every time they made love. These words do fit Molly's image of being a sycophant. So, he was so disgusting in her eyes. But he didn’t think Molly was a noblewoman. If it weren't for the Koch family's betrayal, the Perot family wouldn't have suffered such a heavy blow and completely withdrawn from the Northfield market.
"Forget it, Robert. Don't take it to heart. I didn't mean it. You're the best in my heart." Quinn said as she leaned her head on Robert's chest, rubbing it affectionately. There was a sinister smile on her lips. The jealousy in her heart couldn't be suppressed when she thought of the instant when she saw Molly's body was covered in bruises.
She must make Robert destroy Molly with her own hands!
Robert restrained his expression, got up, and said to Quinn, "I'll have Hayes take you back."
Quinn was a little unhappy and tugged at his clothes. "Aren't you leaving?"
Robert kissed her forehead and said, "There's still something I need to do. I'll come over tonight."
"Okay," Quinn smiled and asked softly, "What about my relatives? How do you plan to deal with them?"
Robert remained silent. Quinn said softly, "It's okay, Robert. I won't blame you for whatever you want to do; at worst, my uncles and aunts will scold you."
Robert rubbed Quinn’s head and said in a gentle voice, "It's okay. I'll let them go."
"Robert, you're so nice," Quinn hugged him tightly. "I really want to be your wife and your woman."
Robert held her hand, caressed it, and smiled. "I'll make you the woman everyone envies."
After Quinn left, Robert came to the ward and saw that Molly was already awake. He walked over with an expressionless face, picked up a strand of hair on her face, and asked, "Awake?"
Molly saw him and thought of the humiliation he had brought her, and there was deep disgust in her eyes.
She said, "Don't touch me. You disgust me." When Robert heard the word 'disgust,' he seemed to be triggered by something, and his face changed in an instant. His palm exerted more force, holding Molly's neck so tightly that her face turned pale, and her breathing became short. Robert's eyes were filled with anger. He was like a demon crawling out of hell when he had a fierce look in his eyes. He said in a cold voice, "Say it again!"
