Chapter 119 A Conspiracy Was Arising
Harper was pinned down by him and couldn't move.
Thinking that he was back from Chloe, Harper felt a wave of anger surge inside. Suddenly, she lifted her head and bit him before he could touch her lips.
Her bite was fierce, breaking the skin on his lips.
Francis was stunned for a second and then let out a light laugh.
Harper didn't know what he meant.
He raised his eyebrows lightly. The hazy sunlight shining on his exquisite and elegant face, coupled with the faint blood on his lips, made him even more enticing.
Harper subconsciously turned her face away.
"Not happy?" he asked.
"No," Harper was annoyed by him. She thought, ‘How I wished I could take that arrogance out of him?’
He lightly touched her nose with his.
"Three days later, I will send Chloe away," he said.
"That's your choice."
Harper didn't look happy because she had little expectation for his words, and, for a moment, she really wanted to retort to him," Do you believe your own words?"
Francis was somewhat hurt. He meant to cheer her up, but obviously, the object of his affection was not appreciative.
"This time, it's for real. After she leaves, we can have a better life together."
Harper's eyelashes trembled slightly.
She had heard this kind of word several times.
But every time, he broke his promise, which was followed by hurt.
She couldn't trust him anymore.
Francis lowered his head and gently kissed her eyes. Harper turned her face away to avoid him.
He didn't force her, just held her waist and said, "Stay with me for a while."
Action spoke louder than words. She would know his determination soon.
Harper refused, "No, go sleep somewhere else."
He lowered his head lightly, bit her earlobe, and said, "I want to sleep with you."
Harper was held tightly by him, unable to move, and could only glare at him angrily.
Francis was amused by her gaze. "You don’t have to hold so much hostility toward me, do you?"
"Let me go!" Harper moved again, feeling uncomfortable being held by him.
Suddenly, Francis grunted, then gritted his teeth and warned in a low voice, "If you can't sleep, don't provoke me."
Harper was scared and dared not move. She was obedient, like a cat.
Francis seemed genuinely tired, his breathing regular, and he soon fell asleep.
But Harper couldn't fall asleep no matter what.
It had been ten years since she fell in love with him.
Back then, she fell in love with him without hesitation.
She thought that such deep love would last forever.
But in just a few short months, this love was ruined by Chloe and Francis’ attitude. There was almost nothing left.
But even so, truly removing someone from her heart was much harder than saying it out loud.
A touch of bitterness flashed in Harper's eyes.
It started drizzling.
In an old alley, Amelia was wearing the hat over her coat, but she was still drenched.
She had just gone to look for a job and failed again.
The impact of those scandalous photos of hers made it hard to stay alive. The money Chloe had given her was used up in half a month.
The Hearst family and the Brin family were on guard against her. She couldn't get in, and she felt like she was living in hell every day.
She had thought about revenging Harper, but now she couldn't even keep herself safe. Let alone get close to Harper or find out where she was. She was in a dilemma.
She pushed open the door to her rented room in frustration.
Unexpectedly, she saw a man and a woman embracing each other on the bed.
Upon hearing the door open, they both looked over.
"Amelia, You go first."
Linda's voice was hoarse, but at least she knew to cover herself with a sheet.
After being driven out, Linda relied on sleeping with different men to make a living. There couldn't be any outstanding men in this impoverished area, just some rough lower-class people.
She was such a flirt, and more and more men came for her.
But she enjoyed it. After all, she was no longer young. It's better to have fun first.
Amelia glanced disdainfully at the two of them and then ran out without even closing the door.
As she left, a lecherous voice came from behind. "Your daughter looks decent. When can she accompany us?"
Linda punched him. "Stop thinking nonsense; she's for someone important."
Amelia thought the same. ‘If it weren't for that little bitch Harper, I would be a wealthy lady by now. It is all that bitch's fault!’
The first thing she would do to change all this was to start from Harper! She wanted to vent her anger!
Thinking this, Amelia felt a lot better.
Two sleazy men came towards her, wearing tattered hats that covered half their faces. As they passed by Amelia, one of them suddenly reached out and touched her buttocks.
"Nice and round."
The two men smirked lewdly.
Amelia immediately cursed, "Are you blind? How dare you touch me, you two trash. Apologize to me now!"
She looked down on these rude lower-class people from the bottom of her heart.
If she were still with the Brin family, she wouldn't hesitate to abuse and mistreat the servants. At one point, she even beat a senior butler to disabled, and he died in two days.
Later, she used some money to cover up the fact that the old butler died of her beat.
In her eyes, these lower-class people were there to be beaten up.
They were timid and submissive, bowing their heads to the wealthy whenever they met one.
Even though she had fallen now, she was still beyond these lower-class people!
The two men stood still while Amelia continued to curse and spit at them, and she said, "Apologize now; I could easily kill you two lowlifes just like squashing ants."
Amelia was used to being arrogant. That's how she treated the servants before. They were all afraid of her, fearing a beating if they offended her.
If it were someone else, they might have been intimidated by her aura.
But these two were not anyone else. They were here for her.
With a loud sound, the skinny man gave Amelia a heavy slay.
The fat man also stepped forward and unceremoniously slapped Amelia three times.
Amelia was left with a mouth full of blood. She wanted to curse back, but the two men dragged her directly to the trash cans in the alley.
