Chapter 493 Go to Hell Together
Harper was still feeling weak. When she saw that silver dagger coming at her, she froze up like a deer in headlights.
In a panic, she bit down on her tongue, and the pain snapped her back to reality. With all the strength she had left, Harper rolled on the ground, just barely dodging that icy blade.
"You bitch!" Chloe shrieked, looking totally unhinged, and lunged at her again, stabbing down like a maniac!
Harper dodged to the side, but the knife still grazed her arm. Blood started soaking through her white clothes.
Chloe looked completely nuts. Clutching the blade, Chloe kept coming at her, stabbing over and over, screaming, "You bitch, this is all your fault! You did this to me! I'm gonna kill you! Kill you!"
The knife kept hitting the ground, leaving holes everywhere. Harper kept rolling to dodge, her injured arm leaving bloody streaks on the floor.
Another hit landed, and with a sharp snap, the dagger broke in half. Chloe then grabbed Harper's legs, yanked her hard, and slammed her head against a pillar.
Harper's head hit the pillar hard, and she cried out in pain.
For some reason, Chloe was freakishly strong. Harper took a quick breath, planted a foot on the pillar, and flipped backward, kicking Chloe hard.
Chloe's head hit the pillar, and she screamed, her hair instantly stained dark brown with blood.
Harper had just started to relax when Chloe got up again. Her recovery was insane. "You bitch, I'm gonna kill you today." Chloe laughed like a maniac as she came closer, her gaunt face covered in sores, looking terrifying.
Harper was still on the ground when Chloe grabbed her by the neck. Those bony fingers felt like they were sucking the life out of Harper.
Blood from Chloe's face kept dripping onto Harper's, making her look like a monster. Chloe muttered, "Die! DIE!."
Harper's breathing got shallow, and her vision started to blur with white spots.
Suddenly, Chloe screamed and let go of her.
"Chloe, you're nuts! You can't kill her now; we still need her." Two guys, Barry Gibson and Joe Watson, came in and yanked Chloe's sparse hair, throwing her aside.
Chloe screamed in pain. Because of long-term chemo, her body was like a rotten grape. When Barry yanked her hair, a big chunk of scalp came off. The pain was unbearable.
Chloe lay on the ground, clutching her head, writhing in agony.
Barry looked at the bloody, sticky scalp in his hand and felt sick. He threw the piece of scalp in Chloe's face, shouting angrily, "Stop screaming, Chloe. Just stop!"
But Chloe couldn't stop. Even though her recovery was amazing because of the injections, having her scalp torn off was insanely painful.
Chloe held her head, clutching the piece of scalp, and kept wailing. Barry kicked her with pure disdain and snapped, "I told you to shut up. Didn't you hear me?"
Joe, wearing a hat, saw Barry kicking her and stepped in, saying, "Cut it out. If she dies now, who’s gonna take the fall?"
Barry finally stopped and spat on the ground. "Look at this ugly broad. She's disgusting. Just looking at her kills my appetite."
Joe also found Chloe repulsive. He took off his hat and threw it in her face, pinching his nose, saying, "Cover your face, it reeks!"
Chloe, after getting kicked a few times, went quiet and didn't dare make a sound. Joe kicked her and pointed at Harper, scolding, "It's not time to kill her yet. You gotta follow our orders, got it?"
Chloe nodded timidly. Even the crazy fear the ruthless. She was very obedient now.
Harper stayed calm and silent. With two strong guys and a madwoman, she knew she couldn't take them on.
Barry noticed Harper was awake and his eyes lit up. The beautiful lady was like a breath of fresh air to him.
"This broad is really something," Barry said.
"Just look, don't cause trouble," Joe, more composed, reminded him. "When the car gets here, we'll take these two to the spot, and our job's done."
Harper listened, realizing they were planning to move her and Chloe somewhere.
Barry said, "It'd be a shame if she died."
Joe, with a cigarette in his mouth, sneered, "Don't talk nonsense."
Barry, unconcerned, said, "What are you afraid of? Soon they'll just be two unrecognizable corpses."
Harper was shocked by their conversation. It seemed they planned to kill her and Chloe and then frame Chloe for her death. Besides Audrey, Harper couldn't think of anyone else who hated them both so much.
Harper suppressed her frantic heartbeat and said calmly, "You're just doing a job for money. Whatever they're paying you, I can give you five times as much."
Joe sneered, "We have professional ethics."
Harper's eyes reddened, and she pleaded weakly, "Sir, I have a lot of money, really. I can give you money."
Barry looked at Harper's tears, finding her genuinely fragile and beautiful. He snorted, "It's not about the money. If we mess this up, we'll lose our lives."
Joe, seeing Barry starting to talk nonsense again, sent him out, suggesting, "Go guard the entrance. Let us know when the car gets here."
Barry obediently went out.
Joe re-tied Harper's hands. Suddenly, his phone rang. Joe told them, "Behave!"
Then he turned and went out to take the call.
Chloe, who had been curled up in the corner, her face and head covered in blood, suddenly had a dark glint in her eyes. Seizing the opportunity, she lunged at Harper again. She screamed, "I'll kill you now."
Harper had already maneuvered her feet to switch her bound hands to the front. She resisted Chloe's reaching hands and shouted, "Do you want to go to hell with me?"
