Chapter 133 Harper Goes Berserk

Harper's hatred in her eyes made Chloe feel quite comfortable. Her only regret was Amelia that idiot had failed again and couldn't kill this despicable woman. However, since her child was gone, it could be considered a good thing. She couldn't believe that even in this situation, Harper still hadn't divorced Francis. After a few days of rest, Chloe looked radiant, a far cry from her miserable appearance in the video. Harper knew that the kidnapping was just another act orchestrated by Chloe. She wasn't in the mood to deal with Chloe and coldly said, "Why are you still here?"

"Harper, why are you so fierce? I didn't kill your child." Chloe looked aggrieved on the surface but was skilled at saying things that would make Harper collapse upon hearing them. "It's partly my fault too. If Francis hadn’t left you to save me, your child might still be alive. You wouldn't have been beaten so badly with your spleen ruptured. It must be painful, right? This time, you should remember that you're just a pet destined to be abandoned."

Chloe emphasized every crucial moment of the accident scene, which make Harper feel like she was back in that desperate moment. As Harper's expression grew increasingly unpleasant, Chloe became even more delighted. She reached out, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear gently, and said, "Harper, Francis doesn't want you or the little bastard in you. How many times do I have to tell you? But..." Chloe stared at Harper's face intently and relished any signs of pain, and with a cold, snake-like smile, she said, "This bastard in you deserves to die."

Harper was trembling with anger. Her baby was never a bastard. "Harper, what's wrong? Are you angry? I didn't mean it. I just thought, since no one likes this child, why let it suffer in this world? It's better off to be dead now." Before Chloe could finish her sentence, Harper raised her hand and slapped her hard, which caused Chloe’s head to tilt and her mouth to bleed from the impact.

"How dare you to hit me! You're doomed," Chloe exclaimed in frustration, but before she could finish, there was another sharp sound.

Her other cheek was swollen from Harper's slap, and even her teeth were rattled. Chloe was in tears, grimacing in pain. Harper, mimicking her, coldly remarked, "Does it hurt? Are you angry? I didn't mean it. I just thought your mouth was crooked and couldn't hear you clearly, so I'm helping you straighten it out." Harper's words immediately provoked Chloe. Without pretense, she stood up abruptly from the wheelchair, grabbed Harper's hair fiercely, and flung her to the ground.

Harper tried to get up, but for some reason, her right hand was shaking uncontrollably, lacking strength. Chloe, towering over her, grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the wheelchair several times, cursing viciously, "You're just a woman abandoned by Francis. Why are you still alive." Chloe, exhausted, sat on the edge of the bed, watching Harper's miserable state on the floor, and was unable to hide her satisfaction.

"When Francis abandoned you, did you feel terrible?" Chloe asked, "Let me tell you something else. Initially, Francis suspected that you were carrying another man's child because I tampered with your prenatal and paternity test results." Harper's expression changed abruptly because this not only involved her but also Keith and others, which were all implicated by Francis. These misunderstandings added to her grief.

Harper's anger surged, and her teeth were chattering as she said, "This is also Francis' child. Aren't you afraid he'll find out?" Chloe's face suddenly twisted into an abnormal grin, and she looked at Harper as if she were mentally challenged. "You don't think Francis knows about this, do you?" Harper stiffened, stammering, "What do you mean?" Chloe could tell from Harper's expression that she was unaware of this. Of course, Francis would never tell her. With a smug smile, Chloe said, "Francis has known about it for a long time, but because of me, he chose not to pursue it and even helped me conceal it."

Shocked, Harper felt a moment of confusion and then a sudden urge to laugh. She wanted to laugh at her past greed, anger, delusion, and foolishness. How could she have thought that even if she couldn't beat Chloe, she would at least be Francis' second choice? But she forgot that the first choice made subconsciously is what he truly desires. Even if Francis knew about Chloe's malice, what could he do? Even if she almost harmed his child, so what? When it comes to protecting the one he cares about, his principles and boundaries can be pushed back endlessly! Harper couldn't bring herself to laugh, so her eyes reddened. Her heart felt like it was engulfed in flames and consuming her.

She lost so miserably. Chloe could see her pain clearly and grew more pleased. "Look at yourself now, like an unwanted stray pet. If you had listened to me and left Francis early on, your child wouldn't have died in vain, right?" This remark made Harper look up sharply, and her eyes went bloodshot as she said, "What did you say? Is my kidnapping related to you?"

"Don't talk nonsense." Chloe naturally wouldn't admit it but smiled at her. "I just thought that this little bastard in you deserved to die." Harper's hands trembled violently, and she did not know what had come over her. As she listened to Chloe insult her baby, her heart ached even more, which brought convulsions. Her eyes were filled with hatred. She gritted her teeth and said, "Chloe, aren't you afraid of retribution?"

"Retribution?" Chloe burst into laughter. "First, think about your situation. Your relatives and children have died one after another because you brought them bad luck. Tell me, who is really facing retribution?" Harper's knuckles turned white, and her expression went pale! Chloe was right, all of this was her retribution. She had been clinging to someone who didn't belong to her, so the retribution came swiftly. Even though she was now alone and destitute, she would never allow anyone to defame the most important presence in her heart.

Feeling her hands regain some strength, Harper didn't hesitate to grab the hot water kettle near the table leg and fiercely swung it towards Chloe. The kettle lid flew off due to the force, splashing scalding hot water on Chloe. She let out a piercing scream and slid to the floor. Seizing the opportunity, Harper, who was unable to use her hands, used her feet to kick Chloe's knees, producing a vicious sound. Chloe howled in pain. Harper pressed her elbow against Chloe's neck and spoke coldly, "You like acting to be hurt in a wheelchair, right? I'll grant your wish. But remember this." Her eyes turned icy and sharp in an instant, exuding a murderous intent. "If you dare insult my family again, I'll make sure you stay in that wheelchair forever."

Chloe was stunned by the force of the kick. She didn't expect Harper, who usually seemed gentle, to be so fierce. She was like a madwoman. Just as she was about to retaliate, she caught sight of a pair of shiny leather shoes. Her eyes flickered, and she immediately changed her tone, trembling all over. "Please don't hit me."
