Chapter 275 Dumb as a Donkey
Quinn's face and upper body were drenched in blood, looking horrifying.
But even now, she didn't forget to frame Molly.
"Help me. Please help me. This crazy woman has lost it."
Quinn cried out hoarsely, looking pitiful with her swollen eyes unable to see Robert's terrifying expression.
If he hadn't heard everything, he might have been fooled by Quinn again.
Robert said flatly, "Quinn, I heard everything."
Quinn froze. What did he mean by "heard everything"?
A chill ran through her, freezing her to the core.
"No, Robert, it was Molly. She forced me. She made me say that," Quinn cried, tears and snot mixing, stinging her wounds.
She grimaced in pain, looking ugly and pitiful.
But Robert felt no pity. His expression was cold. "Quinn, I told you not to cross me."
Quinn had killed his child.
Thinking of that child, Robert felt an urge to crush something, but he didn't want to touch Quinn at all.
"Robert, she really tried to kill me. I said those things to save my life. It has nothing to do with me. The thing with Henry was his own doing."
Quinn disowned Henry in that moment.
She only wanted to keep her position. Henry meant nothing; anyone could be used by her.
"Even now, you still lie to my face?" Robert said. "You sent Zack away to take the contract from my safe, didn't you?"
"I, I..." Quinn couldn't lie anymore. Her whole body hurt, and she spluttered, "I just hated her for taking you away, Robert. I'm your fiancée. I was defending my rights."
Quinn crawled to Robert's shoes, gripping them tightly and wailing, "Robert, I did all this because I love you."
Robert stepped on her hands, grinding his shoe into them.
Quinn's screams filled the room.
Robert said coldly, "Quinn, you know I hate liars most."
"You not only deceived me but also used my power to harm that child. Have you forgotten the child has my blood?" He had thought Quinn was just spoiled, not capable of such evil.
Robert had allowed Quinn's arrogance to preserve Molly's image in her.
But he was wrong, terribly wrong.
Molly's arrogance came with pride and confidence from her parents' love and privileged background.
Molly, though arrogant, despised doing evil. She was fiery but kind-hearted.
Quinn's arrogance, on the other hand, was mixed with malice, selfishness, and destruction.
All of this was the evil Robert had cultivated, a sin he couldn't escape.
Molly didn't want to watch them fight, especially when Robert mentioned her child, which disgusted her.
She pointed to the door and shouted, "Both of you, get out."
Robert didn't argue but instructed Zack to drag Quinn out and have someone clean up.
He didn't leave, looking at Molly, his throat dry as he croaked, "I didn't know."
His voice was soft, as if fearing Molly's disdain.
That sentence couldn't absolve him. Quinn's confidence came from him.
Molly sneered, "Robert, are you joking? I recorded your wife's words. You better tell me where my mother is, or I'll release it."
The recording might not be admissible as evidence, but public opinion couldn't be ignored.
She didn't think Robert would stoop so low.
Robert frowned and said, "She's not my wife. We didn't get married."
Molly didn't care about his excuses. Her eyes were bloodshot as she demanded, "Where is my mother? I need to see her now."
Only Robert could have hidden Leah from her.
Robert explained, "I didn't mean to harm her."
He was just afraid Molly couldn't handle the shock, so he had someone hide her mother.
Molly felt more disgusted with every word he said. Her vision blurred, and she felt like she was seeing double. She had to see Leah before her body gave out.
She repeated, "I want to see her."
Robert promised, "And you will."
Outside, Quinn was still crying and refusing to get in the car.
She didn't know where Zack was taking her and was terrified. "I want to see Robert. I want to see him."
Zack saw Robert and asked, "Mr. Perot, what should we do?"
Hearing Robert's name, Quinn crawled over frantically, groping around and crying, "Robert, you can't do this to me. Have you forgotten who saved you back then?"
Robert paused and instructed the driver to take Molly to the car first.
Quinn cried out, "It was me. It was me. Robert, you can't be so ungrateful!"
Thinking of how Quinn had saved him, Robert narrowed his eyes. "Quinn, haven't I been good enough to you?"
For that favor, he had been generous to Quinn, giving her a mansion worth over a hundred million dollars without hesitation.
Even to make up for canceling their wedding, Robert had prepared a contract to give her a third of his assets as compensation.
Even if they couldn't be a couple, he would always take care of her because of that favor.
But now, Quinn's actions made him feel like a fool.
Quinn could never return to the beautiful and kind image he had of her. Instead, thinking of her made him feel nauseous. "Quinn, this is the last time I'll repay that favor. I won't let you die; I'll make sure you live to the end."
Robert instructed Zack, "Send her to the seaside villa."
Quinn's face turned white, and she lay on the ground, screaming like a ghost. "I don't want to go to the villa; I want to go to the hospital. Robert."
"Don't let me hear that name from your mouth again!" Robert coldly stripped her of the right to call his name, his face icy. "Remember, this is my last repayment to you. Otherwise, you should be in prison right now."
Fear surged in Quinn's heart.
Her body trembled like a leaf in the wind.
If Robert wanted to find evidence of her crimes, it would be easy.
Robert left without a second thought.
Soon, the car arrived at a high-end private hospital.
Inside, Molly saw Leah lying in the intensive care unit.
Leah's face was expressionless, as if she were asleep.
Molly trembled all over and said in a shaking voice, "I want to go in and see her."
Technically, it wasn't allowed.
However, considering Leah's condition, the doctor allowed Molly to go in for a final visit out of humanitarian concern.
Soon, Molly would have to decide whether to remove the ventilator.
Molly changed her clothes, her legs trembling, and stumbled towards the bed.
Tears flowed uncontrollably.
Here, no one could see her, and she could show her most vulnerable side. "Mom, I know you can't bear to leave Dad, but why can't you stay with me a few more days, just a few more days? Mom, Dad, why don't you wait for me?"
Molly cried until she was out of breath, her body numb, and aching.
The room was filled with her heart-wrenching sobs.
Soon, the timer showed that visiting time was over.
Molly silently mouthed, "Mom, Dad, I'll be there soon."
