Chapter 291 Don't You Touch Her Again
This was clearly a scare tactic. The restaurant couldn't make decisions without solid proof.
The scene quickly turned into a standoff, with Harper clearly at a disadvantage.
But Harper stayed calm, standing tall as she looked at them. "What gives you the right to check my phone?"
Harper's confidence was unshaken by their threats.
Chloe noticed Harper seemed different.
Her tone and demeanor were more confident, exuding a calm that made her even more captivating, like someone from a wealthy family.
Five years had passed, but time hadn't touched Harper's face. She looked even more beautiful.
Unlike Chloe, who had aged quickly after losing her child, relying on cosmetic treatments to maintain her looks.
She looked fine alone, but next to Harper, she seemed much older, even though they were about the same age.
Jealousy surged in Chloe.
Chloe saw the greeter trying to please her and asked, "Is this lady a customer here?"
The greeter caught on and said, "I'm not sure. She said she's waiting for someone."
"Waiting for someone?" Chloe sneered, "Or just looking for a rich guy?"
The greeter got the hint and said, "If you're not here to dine, don't cause trouble. Hand over your phone and delete the photos, and I'll let you go."
"Who said I'm not here to dine?" Harper shot back.
Seeing Harper's confidence, the greeter thought she might be an important customer and softened her tone. "Oh, since you're dining here, which room are you in? I'll check."
"I need to ask." Harper was about to call Victor when Chloe laughed.
"Are you planning to look up the names of the restaurant's private rooms online?" Chloe's words made the greeter suspicious again, thinking Harper was just looking for a rich man.
The greeter called on the intercom, "Security, come to the entrance. A woman is causing trouble here."
Chloe sneered at Harper, "Hand over your phone if you know what's good for you. Otherwise, when security arrives, they'll pin you down and search you."
"Have some self-respect," the greeter echoed Chloe. "Or I'll post about you coming here to fish for a rich man. Let's see where you can work then."
Lester chimed in sanctimoniously, "You're so young; why don't you work with your own hands instead of being a gold-digger? Hand over your phone and delete the photos. It's good for everyone."
Lester said this, but his eyes were lecherous, sizing up Harper.
Harper was much prettier than Chloe, with natural beauty and a youthful look. He thought he should have his assistant get her contact info later; a little money could get this beauty.
Harper looked at the three of them ganging up on her and felt disgusted. If they wanted her phone, fine.
"It's just a phone." Harper smiled, walked up to the silent lady, Kim, and said, "Mrs. Williams, right? Since everyone is questioning my phone, you're the most neutral here. How about I let you check it?"
After all, it was Kim's husband who wanted to cheat on her. It was their family matter.
If Kim was willing to swallow her pride, Harper had nothing to say.
Kim didn't think Harper was the kind of person they described.
Harper was indeed beautiful and dressed appropriately, unlike Chloe, whose outfit was almost indecent.
"Since you trust me, I'll do it." As soon as she said this, Chloe and Lester's faces changed instantly.
They needed to find out what Harper had just photographed. It would be disastrous if she had captured their actions and Kim found out.
Chloe had heard of Kim, who was notoriously bad-tempered in their circle.
Her family was Lester's only support, and Kim loved him, so Lester had more power.
But no one who tried to seduce Lester dared to let Kim find out; it was like pulling a tiger's whiskers.
Kim reached out to take the phone, sensing something was off. 'What could be in the phone, and why is Lester involved?'
Chloe's face turned pale. She couldn't let this happen.
She signaled to the greeter, who immediately got the hint. This was her chance to win Chloe's favor.
In a second, the greeter stepped forward and knocked Harper's phone to the ground.
Then, she started twisting the truth. "Miss, do you think I don't remember you? This isn't the first time you've come to our restaurant to fish for a rich man."
Harper said coolly, "Have you seen me before?"
She had only been back in the country for a few days and was visiting this restaurant for the first time. This greeter was blatantly lying.
The greeter, who had started her lies, decided to go all out.
"Don't do anything you wouldn't want others to know. You better leave now before security makes you."
Just then, security arrived, and the greeter pointed at Harper. "Take this woman out."
Harper coldly rebuked, "Again. I'm here to dine."
The security didn't care and moved forward to drag her out. As soon as they touched her, there were two loud bangs, and they were each kicked to the ground.
Behind her, a voice colder than ice sounded, "Don't you touch her again."
Instantly, the air fell silent.
A tall, distinguished, and handsome man walked up to Harper and asked in a deep, magnetic voice, "Are you okay?"
Harper shook her head. "I'm fine."
Even so, Francis was still worried. After carefully checking to make sure she wasn't hurt, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, Francis looked coldly at the greeter and asked, "Who did you want to kick out?"
The greeter was intimidated by Francis's natural aura of authority and started stammering. "I didn't. That lady said she was photographed."
She pointed at Chloe.
Chloe shivered when she saw Francis's gaze turn to her.
She never expected Harper to be with Francis, and that damn greeter had sold her out.
Francis's eyes were icy as he asked Chloe, "Is that true?"
