Chapter 115 There's Nothing to Discuss
"I don't need you to worry about who I'm with."
Harper was still upset about those embarrassing words Francis said in the restaurant.
She tried to pull his hand away, but he grasped her hand firmly instead.
With a dangerous glint in his narrow eyes, Francis asked, "Not enough yet?"
Before Harper could speak, he pinched her chin and kissed her forcefully.
He held her hands firmly to prevent her from resisting and kissed her fiercely and passionately, almost as if he wanted to swallow her tongue.
Harper struggled instinctively, but her strength was depleted, and she could not keep fighting at this moment.
She gave up struggling, afraid of hurting the baby inside.
As time seemed to elapse for long, Francis didn't release her lips until her lips felt numb.
Harper took a moment to catch her breath before scolding him, "Francis, what are you doing?"
Francis narrowed his eyes. "I'm teaching you the way you speak."
He was warning her reckless speech would come with consequences.
When Francis thought that she dared to follow another man just now, he felt the anger in his heart rise again. He held her tightly and coldly warned, "If you dare to walk with another man again, I will lock you up with a dog leash."
He paused and added, "And no flirting."
Harper didn't know when she had flirted with other men.
Actually, it was not surprising that Francis thought so. Her eyes were truly beautiful, with innocent almond-shaped eyes that seemed to be seductive with the upturned corners.
Feeling annoyed by his embrace and uncomfortable, plus her anger, Harper furrowed her brows and said, "Let me go."
But Francis didn't release her. He lowered his head and kissed her lips lightly. "No."
He didn't notice that there was something fishy about the paternity test until his anger subsided. The situation was not clear yet, but soon, he could uncover the mastermind behind it.
Originally, He had come to apologize today, but the situation had deviated from his plan. He had said he was punishing her, but he couldn't bear to hurt her and instead tried his best to please her.
Lowering his voice with a hint of tenderness, he said, "I was the one giving just now; wasn't it pleasurable for you?"
Harper's ears turned red, and she pushed him away, "Have you no shame?"
Francis held her tighter, lightly kissed her hair, and caressed her cheek with his fingertips, speaking softly, "I apologize. Can we stop being angry with each other?"
Harper, hearing the sudden change in his tone, was puzzled for a moment before realizing that he must have sensed something wrong with the test results. He was now coaxing her only for the sake of their child.
"I'm not angry with you, Francis. I know who you are, and I know who I am. I'm not overestimating myself."
She had long understood this.
His gentle coaxing was driven by possessiveness, not affection. As soon as she reached his taboos, this tenderness would be withdrawn instantly, and there was only punishment ahead.
So, she no longer held any expectations for him. She didn't want to endure the insult of the mistrust anymore. Divorce was her only goal.
Francis could clearly hear the sarcasm in Harper's words, and he didn't expect her to forgive him so soon.
He had to continue to ease the anger of his wife because he was the one who started it. He kissed her forehead and said, "It's my fault. I will give you an explanation in a couple of days."
Once he exposed the mastermind behind it, he wouldn't let them get away easily!
But Harper remained indifferent. The outcome didn't matter to her; she just wanted her baby not to be a bastard.
Her baby deserved to come into this world without any guilt.
Coldly, she said, "After this is resolved, let's discuss our divorce properly."
Francis didn't expect that just a moment ago, they were doing the most intimate stuff, and the next minute, she was coldly talking about divorce.
Instantly, the suppressed anger in him reignited.
Through gritted teeth, he said, "Harper, I was trying to please you just now, didn't you feel it?"
"Mr. Getty, did I ever ask you to please me? You are forcing me, and you are enjoying it yourself."
Harper was now clear-headed and wouldn't be swayed by his words.
Francis frowned and bit her neck lightly, venting his frustration but not being too harsh. Instead, he showed a hint of intimacy.
He said dominantly, "If I say no, it's no. I don't want to hear about divorce from your mouth again!"
Harper pushed him away and said calmly, "Then there's nothing to discuss. I will talk to Dylan about it tomorrow."
"You dare!" Francis exclaimed angrily with his alarming eyes narrowed.
"I won't provoke Dylan. I will try to have a talk. We just can't go on like this; it's not about anything else."
Harper's attitude irritated Francis.
"Harper, are you really going to be this disobedient?"
Harper didn't even bother to respond because she couldn't communicate with Francis in this way. She would rather talk to Dylan than waste her time on him.
Seeing her determined expression, Francis bit his lips coldly.
With a thin smile, he said, "From now on, you are not allowed to go anywhere."
Harper's face darkened instantly, and she asked, "Are you going to confine me again?"
Adding the word again made Francis furrow his brows. He had said something similar before, but he never did so.
But now he couldn't find a better way. At least he could set her free when he had the energy to entangle with her, and everything was solved.
But it was not until now that he said so. She had been disobedient repeatedly, and she needed to know who was in charge.
With a shadow in his eyes, he said softly, "It's not about confining you. I just want my wife and child to be safe by my side."
Harper was infuriated by his thoughts, and she argued, "Francis, even if we are married, you have no right to restrict my freedom!"
"Harper, you’d better remember that we are married. Keith is not a good person. Stay away from him."
At that moment, Francis's phone rang. He glanced at it but didn't answer.
Sensitive as she was, Harper felt something, and she knew it could only be Chloe.
In a mocking tone, she retorted, "Then Chloe is not a good person either. Why don't you stay away from her?"
Francis frowned. "It's not the same."
Harper wanted to laugh. They were much closer to each other; at least Keith had never shown any signs of infidelity or interest in her. But it was always Francis who doubted her.
"Fine, it's not the same. You say you don't want a divorce, but today, you can't go anywhere. I want you to stay at the hospital with me."
