Chapter 621 Thank You, Honey
The next second, Molly jumped out of bed barefoot and headed straight for the medicine cabinet in Robert's bedroom.
Molly needed strong evidence to regain custody of Taylor.
She remembered that Robert had been taking psychiatric medication, but these were prescribed by his private doctor.
He had never gotten a prescription from the hospital.
If she could prove that Robert was taking psychiatric medication, it would show that he was unfit to raise a child.
A person who could have a mental breakdown at any moment was extremely dangerous for child-rearing.
Molly didn't see the medication in the cabinet, so she stood on tiptoe to reach the top shelf, but it was too high to reach.
Molly had no choice but to bring over a stool, stand on it, and reach for the medicine box.
Finally, she got the box in her hands, but she forgot she was still standing on the stool. She wobbled and almost fell.
Molly closed her eyes tightly, covering her mouth to avoid making any noise that might attract attention.
The expected pain didn't come; instead, she fell into a hard embrace, and her heart tightened.
The medicine box fell to the ground, scattering everywhere.
Then, a voice sounded above her.
"What are you looking for?" Robert's handsome, cold face was full of mockery.
Molly's face stiffened, but she quickly responded, "I don't feel well, looking for some medicine."
"Where do you feel unwell?" Robert asked calmly.
"My head hurts." Molly made up an excuse.
Robert casually picked up a box from the scattered medicines on the floor and handed it to her, saying, "Take it, it's for headaches."
Molly didn't dare to take it, because she didn't know what Robert might have given her.
He clearly hadn't even looked.
Molly shook her head and said, "I don't feel that bad now."
Robert smirked. "Tell me what you need, and I'll find it for you."
As he spoke, he suddenly pressed her against the cabinet.
Molly exclaimed, "Robert, what are you doing?"
Robert's voice was hoarse, filled with desire. "What do you think?"
Molly's face turned blush with anger. As she struggled, Robert's large hand lifted her thigh, pressing her hard against the cabinet door.
Molly cried out in pain, "You're crazy! If you touch me, it's illegal!"
Robert suddenly let out a cold laugh, and the desire in his eyes vanished instantly.
He squatted down, picked up a box of medicine with foreign writing on it, and waved it in his hand, saying, "You were looking for this."
Molly's eyes lit up, realizing this was the psychiatric medication she was looking for.
Robert provocatively swallowed two capsules in front of her, chewing them.
Suddenly, he grabbed Molly's jaw and kissed her hard, transferring the medicine powder to her.
Molly struggled to resist, but her jaw was held too tightly, and she couldn't move.
She had to kick him, but as soon as she did, Robert pushed her down to the floor.
The soft carpet underneath didn't hurt, but the position made Molly feel humiliated and violated.
Robert's lips and teeth were all about fierce plundering, as if he wanted to possess her in an instant.
Molly bit his lip hard, but he didn't care. Instead, he bit back on her lips.
Molly gasped in pain, tears welling up in her eyes.
Robert didn't back down at all; he focused on her injured lip, kissing and sucking it.
He licked all her blood into his stomach with his tongue, his actions full of lust.
Molly felt disgusted; she didn't want any physical contact with Robert.
She finally turned her face away and shouted, "Get off me! You bastard!"
Robert laughed strangely, his voice hoarse with desire. "If it weren't for the medication, I wouldn't be thinking about making love to you right now. I'd strangle you first, then make love to you!"
Molly thought only a complete madman would say those words.
It was clear that if Taylor stayed with such a father, it would be hard for him to grow up normal.
Molly's heart sank, and she said, "Then kill me. If you have the guts, kill me now. Otherwise, I'll crawl to the police station and accuse you of forcing me!"
The veins on Robert's forehead bulged, and his handsome face twisted with rage, showing that his anger had reached its peak.
Molly kept provoking him with words, mocking. "Robert, is this all you're capable of? Are there not enough women in Northfield for you? Too bad I find you disgusting."
Instantly, Robert's face twisted like a mad beast.
Molly's clothes were half-torn, revealing her sexy collarbone and a large area of tender skin.
Her slender waist was still so delicate that it seemed it could be snapped with a touch.
In the months she had been missing, Molly had become much fuller, fully restoring her stunning beauty.
Indeed, whether she was thin or fuller, her allure was undeniable.
Robert lowered his head and fiercely kissed and sucked on Molly's neck. The fragrance of her beautiful neck was intoxicating, making it easy to get lost in this feast of beauty.
Molly frowned in pain, her body trembling weakly from the agony.
After a while, Robert suddenly stopped, as if the medication had taken effect, and he was no longer in his previous violent state.
"So unwilling, yet trying to seduce me into making love to you?" His voice was particularly cold.
It was as if the person who had just been crazed and violent wasn't him.
This medication was truly astonishing.
Robert's fingers touched Molly's injured lip, his eyes deep and quiet. "Stop your little schemes. You can't take Taylor away. Given your current behavior, I won't let you see Taylor again."
Molly trembled all over, looking at him in disbelief.
Robert stood up, elegantly tidied his clothes, and said coldly, "You can leave now."
Molly suddenly lunged at Robert, grabbing his clothes, and shouted, "Robert, why?"
Robert stood still, and Molly clung to his clothes, furiously saying, "Taylor is the child I carried for ten months and gave birth to. You've never even been in contact with him. What right do you have to take my child away?"
Robert suddenly let out a mocking laugh. "Molly, how many times do I have to say it? Because I'm his biological father, I can raise him."
Molly's eyes filled with tears. "You don't like him, so don't hurt him. Why do you insist on keeping him with you?"
Her tear-filled eyes were full of emptiness.
Molly didn't understand the point of Robert taking Taylor. He was a cold-blooded person with strong possessiveness who loved no one but himself.
But Robert always liked to present himself as high and mighty.
Someone like Robert could never truly care for Taylor.
If he really wanted a child, there were plenty of women willing to have one for him. He just wanted to use Taylor to threaten her.
Molly didn't want Taylor to discover this sad truth.
Although she hated Robert and wished he were dead, Taylor was innocent.
For a long time, when Taylor asked Isadora about his father, Molly had taught Isadora to tell him that his parents were not together, but both loved him very much.
Molly didn't want Taylor to live a life filled with hatred like she and Robert did.
She also didn't want Taylor to become reclusive, strange, and insecure because of the hatred between them.
This was why Taylor could stay peacefully at the villa, because he believed Robert loved him too.
But if Taylor ever found out that he was just a tool for Robert to threaten Molly, the impact would be devastating.
"Robert, let Taylor go," Molly said wearily.
The struggle had taken most of her strength, and now even the slightest movement was excruciating.
She looked pale and fragile, with a kind of delicate beauty.
Robert looked at her, his eyes deep. "You have a choice."
He repeated, "Molly, you can choose to let Taylor have both parents with him. This is your last chance."
Robert could overlook the past, overlook her being with Kyle.
He could even be magnanimous and let Kyle go, as long as she came back to him.
Even though Robert didn't have much affection for Taylor, he wouldn't show it. He was cold-blooded, but he could act. He could learn to be a good father.
All of this depended on Molly coming back.
Otherwise, nothing would remain.
Robert would never let Molly take Taylor and marry Kyle.
Just thinking about that made Robert's blood boil, and he wanted to tear Kyle to pieces.
"Molly, this time, I'm not joking." Robert's tone was icy, giving a final warning. "If you choose to stand against me, you will lose the right to be with your child forever. You know I have the power to do that."
Robert's shiny leather shoes made a cold sound on the floor as he left without any hesitation.
Molly collapsed on the floor, her hands clenched tightly, her lips trembling uncontrollably, but her eyes were filled with defiance.
She would never let Taylor stay with Robert.
She would never let Taylor suffer any psychological trauma.
Outside the villa, Isadora stood at the window, making a gesture to indicate that Taylor was fine.
When they couldn't meet before, Isadora would give her a sign from afar to show that Taylor was okay.
Molly felt a bit relieved. As long as Isadora was there, Taylor's safety was assured.
Isadora was someone she had chosen and trusted completely, someone who loved Taylor as if he were her own.
After getting in the car, Molly remained silent. When she got out of the hospital and confirmed no one was following her, she still felt uneasy and went to the women's restroom to make a call. "Hello?"
A pure and gentle female voice answered.
Molly's eyes welled up. "Harper, it's Molly."
"Molly, where are you now?" Since it was a new number, Harper didn't know it was Molly's. Hearing her voice, Harper was extremely excited.
"I'm in Northfield," Molly said.
"Where in Northfield? I'll come find you," Harper asked urgently.
Molly felt much better. No matter what, she still had a reliable friend she could trust.
For a moment, she wanted to pour out all her grievances to Harper, just like she used to.
At that moment, a child's voice came from the other end. "Mommy."
Harper gently said, "Baby, go play with them for a bit. I'm talking to a good friend and will be with you soon, okay?"
The child's voice was still learning to talk, so it sounded very cute.
Molly remembered that Harper had two young babies, and this must be the youngest one.
Harper's happy life made Molly happy for her.
But she chose to swallow her words.
Her pain and misfortune couldn't be solved by Harper stepping in.
Robert was cunning and left no traces, and he was friends with Francis. She didn't want to put Harper in a difficult position.
Molly quickly said, "Harper, I have some things to take care of. Once I'm done, we'll catch up. Right now, I need a favor."
Harper felt a bit disappointed but quickly recovered. "What do you need?"
"Help me find a reliable lab to test some medication."
"Okay, I'll have Francis contact someone. He's more familiar with this." Harper didn't even ask what Molly needed it for and agreed immediately.
This was the purest form of trust between good friends, no need for many words.
"I'll make sure Francis keeps it confidential," Harper added.
She knew about Molly's entanglement with Robert, and since Francis was friends with Robert, Molly's request had to be kept from him.
However, since getting married, Francis had reduced his social engagements significantly. Unless necessary, he didn't attend any.
Every day after work, Francis would bring unfinished work home, first being a responsible father, putting the two kids to sleep, and then telling Agnes a bedtime story.
Once the kids were asleep, Francis would work in his study until late at night.
Sometimes Harper felt sorry for him, but Francis would hold her and say, "There's a kind of tiredness that's a happy tiredness."
For Harper and the kids, he was happy to do anything.
"Thank you, Harper," Molly said.
"No need to thank me. Once you're done, come over and meet my kids. You haven't met them yet, and Agnes keeps asking about you."
"Yes, I'll definitely come." After hanging up, Molly felt much more at ease, because communicating with Harper was never tiring.
Molly needed to test a pill she had secretly hidden in her hand while Robert wasn't paying attention. If she could prove that the medication's components matched what was in Robert's system, she would have absolute custody of Taylor.
Robert said he was giving her one last chance, but she wouldn't give him any more chances. If she failed once, she would get back up again.
She would never give up easily.
At Tranquil Haven Retreat Villa, that evening, after Francis came home, Harper told him about the lab.
Francis didn't ask any questions and quickly had Victor send Harper the address and arrange everything.
Harper happily hugged Francis' face and kissed him, sweetly saying, "Thank you, honey."
Then, Harper prepared to go out and call Molly.
Francis grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap, holding her. "Is that all the thanks I get?"
