Chapter 580 You Killed My Parents!

Arthur threw on a mysterious grin and said, "You'll find out soon enough."

Elodie started feeling a knot in her stomach. She shouldn't have trusted Arthur's sudden kindness, thinking he was just taking her out for fun.

She had this plan to jump out of the car in a busy area, but now, the place was getting more and more deserted. Not a soul in sight. Even if she jumped, there'd be no one to help her, let alone manage to get away.

Trying to sound annoyed, Elodie said, "Weren't you taking me out to eat? I thought it was close by. I didn't even have breakfast before coming out. Why are we driving for so long?"

Arthur gave a gentle smile, "Not far now, we'll be there soon."

Elodie had nothing more to say. She reached out to press the car window button, but it didn't budge. The window was locked.

Everything in this car was set up to keep her from escaping.

Just like back at the villa, where she tried every possible way to get out but couldn't. She had sat on the balcony and, under Arthur's watchful eyes, jumped off.

For freedom, she was willing to risk it all.

But Arthur had turned the ground below the balcony into soft soil. She didn't die from the fall but ended up in a long period of unconsciousness.

The suffocating feeling of being trapped washed over Elodie, like she was drowning in the ocean's depths.

Elodie's face turned pale, but she was pretending to have amnesia and couldn't show her true feelings.

She said, "I need some fresh air."

Arthur looked at her gently, "When the car's moving, the wind outside will be really cold, and you'll catch a cold."

Elodie's lips turned even paler, "Do I not even have the right to feel the wind?"

Arthur sighed lightly, as if he was helpless against Elodie, "Elodie, stop overthinking."

"Then open the window. You said you were taking me out to make me happy, but I'm not happy now."

Elodie started acting all unreasonable.

Arthur looked at her for a moment, then signaled the driver to open the window.

The window opened halfway and stopped, letting her finally breathe in some cold air.

But the surroundings were getting more and more deserted, and Elodie started to panic, "Arthur, where exactly are you taking me?"

Arthur said calmly, "We're leaving Emerald Isle."

"Leaving Emerald Isle?" Elodie thought she had misheard. "Didn't you say you were taking me out to have fun? Why are we suddenly leaving Emerald Isle?"

Arthur explained calmly, "Elodie, I'm tired of this place. I want to go somewhere else. It doesn't conflict with having fun."

Elodie was beyond frustrated. She suddenly reached for the car door and shouted, "Stop the car! Let me out!"

Arthur was truly insane.

Elodie couldn't go with him. Harper had already come to Emerald Isle. If she left now, she might never see Harper again in her life.

She had only one thought in her mind: to escape and find Harper.

But all her struggles were in vain. Arthur easily lifted her onto his lap, restraining her. "Elodie, why don't you want to leave? Is there someone worth staying for in Emerald Isle?"

Elodie's mind raced. She couldn't mention Harper, so she said, "I haven't had a chance to say goodbye to Elara. You didn't even give me any time to prepare."

Arthur looked at Elodie, his face calm, "If you want to see Elara, then we'll go see her."

The driver immediately turned the car around.

Elodie didn't really want to see Elara; she was just afraid that not saying so would make Arthur suspicious.

But turning around was a good opportunity because the new route had a few cars passing by, indicating it wasn't a completely deserted place.

Elodie looked outside, then suddenly took out a sharp fork and pointed it at Arthur's neck, threatening the driver, "Stop the car!"

The fork had been sharpened and was very pointed. Just a light touch made Arthur's neck bleed.

The driver was startled and slammed on the brakes, stopping the car.

The fork, driven by the sudden stop, went deeper into Arthur's skin.

Instantly, a thin stream of blood formed from Arthur's wound.

The blood even splattered onto Elodie's face, bright red and terrifying.

"Madam, please don't be impulsive," the driver said, trembling.

"Unlock the door!" Elodie ordered the driver.

The driver looked at Arthur, seeking for permission.

Elodie decisively pushed the fork deeper, making the thin stream of blood thicker and more dangerous.

Arthur, the person being threatened, showed no expression, as if he wasn't the one being held at knifepoint.

He calmly asked, "Elodie, do you really want to get out?"

Elodie was desperate to leave because this place seemed busier. As long as she could get out of the car, she believed she could get help.

There were many shops and passersby here. No matter how bold Arthur was, he wouldn't dare to grab someone in a busy place.

Even if there were arguments, they would be taken to the authorities.

If she could reach the authorities, she could contact Harper and completely escape Arthur's control.

Elodie's eyes were filled with hatred, barely concealed, "Arthur, let me out of the car or die here. Choose one!"

She wanted to kill Arthur right now, but she still needed to see Harper. No matter how many bad things he had done, she couldn't take the law into her own hands. It had to be handled by the authorities.

She had been imprisoned by Arthur for decades. It wasn't worth going to jail for killing him and not being able to reunite with her children.

"Elodie, you always lack patience." Arthur's expression remained calm, not the least bit panicked.

"Cut the crap, Arthur. Your good days are over. You won't escape the consequences of your actions."

"Elodie, haven't I been good to you? Is there anyone in this world who loves you more than I do?" Arthur seemed unable to understand, "Even Rhodes has a child now. Only I have stayed by your side. Why do you always want to escape?"

Elodie was shocked and looked at Arthur, pressing him, "Rhodes has a child?"

"Yes, he betrayed you long ago!"

Arthur had hated Rhodes for a long time. If it weren't for him, Elodie wouldn't have run away and married Clayton.

But Rhodes didn't get any benefits either, which satisfied Arthur.

Now that Rhodes had a child, Arthur wanted Elodie to know that he was the one who loved her the most.

Arthur said in a low voice, "Rhodes' son looks to be in his twenties! Elodie, only I love you the most!"

Elodie felt a surge of indescribable joy. Back then, she had entrusted a neighbor to give her child to Rhodes, hoping he would pass the child to Clayton for care.

Clayton married Elodie because Gavin had done him a favor, and Clayton had some physiological issues, planning to remain single for life.

After meeting the distressed Elodie, Clayton decided to give her a home to help her escape Arthur's entanglement.

Although Clayton and Elodie got married, it was more like mutual support between family members. There was no romantic love between them.

At that time, the neighbor left her a message saying that the fishing boat had capsized and her child, who was less than three months old, had died.

Elodie felt like her world had collapsed. For so many years, she had always thought that the child had died.

Calculating the time, Elodie could confirm that Noah, whom Rhodes raised, was her son!

In an instant, Elodie was filled with hope. Her children were all still alive and well. She had to get out!

"Arthur, do you think everyone is as obsessive as you? Do you call this love? You killed my parents! And you imprisoned me! You lunatic!" Elodie screamed in agitation, fed up with Arthur's hypocritical facade.

She remembered that they had once had peaceful days.

Back then, her parents had both passed away, and she trusted Arthur unconditionally.

She thought Arthur stayed by her side purely out of love for her, unlike others who were after the inheritance she could receive.

She abandoned her sense of identity and loved Arthur wholeheartedly, only to discover that he was deeply involved in her parents' deaths.

It was because a man with one blind eye came to Arthur, asking for payment for a job he had done, only to be strangled to death by Arthur.

Elodie overheard everything and realized that her parents' car accident was orchestrated by Arthur.

Arthur hated Gavin for looking down on him and not allowing him to be with Elodie, so he tampered with Gavin's brakes and arranged for someone to crash into his car, causing Elodie's parents to die together.

This way, Elodie would be left with no one to rely on but Arthur.

At that moment, Elodie was utterly devastated.

Arthur was clearly a murderous demon, yet he pretended to be deeply in love with her.

It was so disgusting!

Elodie hid her emotions, planning to escape and find someone to help capture Arthur.

She remembered clearly that the one-eyed man had threatened Arthur, saying, "You dare to keep the Sackler Family's daughter by your side. Aren't you afraid she'll find out you killed her parents?"

Arthur, expressionless, pinched the one-eyed man's neck hard and said, "Do you think she will believe your words?"

What Elodie didn't expect was that Arthur knew she had been eavesdropping and turned around, eerily smiling, "Elodie, did you hear everything?"

To this day, Elodie still remembered Arthur's gloomy words.

That tone sent chills down her spine every time she thought about it, as if it would drag her into an endless abyss.

Arthur approached her, gently tucking her loose hair behind her ear, and said softly, "Elodie, why do you believe that man but not me? I'm trying to protect you."

Elodie wanted to kill Arthur! But she was blind, and no one believed what she said.

After that, Arthur imprisoned her under the guise of protection, restricting all her movements.

It seemed even God pitied Elodie, as one day her eyesight suddenly returned.

But Elodie continued to pretend to be blind.

This way, Arthur wouldn't be overly cautious with her.

Finally, the opportunity came. One night, Arthur returned home injured for some unknown reason.

Elodie seized the chance to give Arthur sleeping pills and escaped, successfully finding Clayton.

Later, Elodie discovered she was pregnant with Arthur's child.

She was in extreme pain, unable to decide whether to keep the child.

Until one day, Elodie dreamed of her deceased parents, who told her that the child was there to accompany her in their place.

Elodie realized that the child was innocent and decided to keep it.

Clayton proposed marriage, and Jasper, who was adopted by Clayton, was publicly declared as Elodie's child.

During this time, they never stopped searching for evidence that Arthur had killed Elodie's parents.

But Arthur was ruthless, and investigating him was no easy task.

The reason Elodie exposed her marriage to Clayton in the news was that hiding would eventually lead Arthur to find her and silently abduct her.

After she publicly married Clayton, Arthur was hesitant to act against her, making her safer.

Arthur stayed quiet for a few years, which were the happiest years for Elodie, with her children, and Clayton being a great father.

But who could have thought that Arthur was just pretending to be quiet, secretly planning a flawless scheme to make Elodie disappear without a trace?

Then, the nightmare repeated.

And now, it was time to end this long nightmare.

Arthur wasn't surprised by her words; he had long known that Elodie hadn't lost her memory.

"Elodie, everything I did was because I love you!" Arthur still said this at the moment.

Elodie, in pain and disgust, said, "Arthur, you just treat me like a possession, moving me wherever you want."

Arthur disagreed, "What nonsense. No matter where you are, you are the mistress, my woman."

"Stop talking! It's disgusting!" Elodie painfully pushed the fork deeper, saying ruthlessly, "Let me out of the car!"

If it weren't for her children, Elodie would have killed this demon long ago and then confessed to her crime.

But now wasn't the time. Elodie wanted to see her children, not just Harper and Jasper, but also Noah, whom she hadn't seen since he was three months old.

The driver, sweating profusely, also tried to persuade, "Mr. Hernandez, shall I open the door?"

He didn't understand what Arthur was stalling for. Even if he opened the door, Elodie couldn't escape. Why let himself get hurt and bleed so much?

Excessive blood loss made Arthur's elegant facade even paler.

Arthur waved his hand, signaling to open the door.

After the driver opened the door, Elodie immediately switched the sharpened fork to Arthur's hand, stabbing it into his hand!

Blood gushed from the back of his hand.

Arthur, caught off guard, let out a grunt.

Elodie pinned his hand to the car seat with the fork she had sharpened for a long time. It pierced through Arthur's hand, firmly nailing it to the seat. It would be difficult to remove, and even if removed, it would be excruciatingly painful!
