Chapter 240 I Never Said I Wanted to Be Friends With You, Okay?
Harper's face went pale, fists clenched, and she shook with anger.
Francis had been holding back for a while, and his words came out sharp.
But when he saw her shoulders trembling, his heart ached.
He even cursed himself for being so useless.
He had decided not to care about Harper anymore, but now he wanted to comfort her.
As he thought this, his hand lifted, but Harper turned away.
Harper raised her head and said, "Francis, I won't sleep with you."
Francis was about to get married, and she wouldn't become his mistress.
Francis's hand froze, his face darkening. He brought this pain on himself!
Then he left, slamming the door shut.
Silence fell.
Worry and fear for Molly tormented Harper.
Standing there, Harper lost control and tears streamed down her face.
What could she do?
After a restless night, Harper barely slept. It was her day off the second day, so she went to the hospital to visit Harrison and Leah.
She had managed to gather some information.
She heard Robert's fiancée was injured and hospitalized, so Molly's detention must be related.
But Harper couldn't find out which hospital Robert's fiancée was in.
In the afternoon, Keith called.
Harper picked up, but neither spoke first.
Finally, Keith said, "Harper, how are you?"
Harper replied coldly, "Fine. I've transferred your medical expenses to the hospital."
Keith paused and sighed, "Harper, I don't need that money."
Harper didn't want to reminisce. His deception had left her with doubts.
She said coldly, "Mr. Bolton, don't call me unless necessary. I'm hanging up."
Her tone was distant.
Keith felt a pang and said, "Harper, I can help you."
"What?"
"I know about Molly. I can help."
Harper's heart tightened. She didn't care how Keith knew. "Can you really help Molly?"
"Yes, come find me." Keith gave her an address and hung up.
Harper immediately took a cab to Keith's venture capital office.
A secretary led Harper in.
Keith was sitting in a chair. When he saw Harper, he stood up.
His legs hadn't fully recovered, making his movements slow. He walked to the sofa and sat down, gesturing for her to sit.
After Harper sat, she asked, "Do you know what's going on with Molly at the police station?"
"Molly's situation isn't good."
Harper was shocked. "How can there be danger in the police station? She hasn't even been formally charged."
Keith adjusted his glasses and said calmly, "The danger isn't from inside but from outside. Robert sent two felons in there to give Molly special treatment."
Harper couldn't believe Robert was so malicious! Even in the police station, he wouldn't let her go and sent people to torment her.
Harper turned anxious. "Keith, can you help her? Please, help Molly."
"Yes, I can help, but I have conditions."
Keith's eyes had a predatory look that made Harper uneasy.
"What conditions?"
Keith slowly stood up, walked over, and sat beside her.
The unfamiliar scent made Harper uncomfortable, and the hairs on her arms stood up. She leaned back, but Keith pulled her close.
His fingers caressed her face, his voice hoarse. "Be my girlfriend, in every sense."
His touch was soft, his lips full and moist.
Keith's Adam's apple bobbed, showing an unusual desire. He couldn't control it.
His eyes darkened, and without waiting for Harper's response, he pulled her waist and kissed her.
Harper was stunned; it was so abrupt she couldn't react.
In a bright office, how could Keith be so forward?
Harper turned her face away, covering Keith's lips with her hand, struggling.
But Keith wouldn't let go. A fire burned inside him, making him restless.
He pushed her down on the sofa, his body pressing on her.
Harper's hands were pinned against the sofa's armrest.
She was in a panic, feeling like she didn't recognize Keith.
"Keith, this is illegal; let me go!"
Keith took off his glasses, the warmth in his eyes replaced by coldness.
He said softly, "Harper, you were always meant to be mine."
Harper couldn't understand. Keith's strength was terrifying; she couldn't move, and she sternly said, "Let me go right now."
Keith stroked her hair, looking at the delicate necklace around her neck. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. But you must belong to me completely."
He pressed down again, gripping her chin and kissing her hard.
"You're crazy!"
Harper struggled, the invasive kiss landing on her hair.
Keith was determined. No matter what Harper said, he didn't care; he was set on having her.
He pinned her with his legs. He was forcing her, yet his tone was gentle. "This place might be uncomfortable; be good; I'll try not to hurt you."
He was crazy!
In Harper's mind, Keith's image was completely overturned.
Harper was furious. "We're not in that kind of relationship. Don't do this! I'll call the police!"
Keith chuckled. "Harper, don't be naive; nothing can restrain me."
Harper felt Keith was a complete madman!
Humiliated tears fell, and she choked out, "Keith, don't do this; I've always considered you a friend; you can't hurt me like this."
"Harper, I never said I wanted to be friends with you, okay?"
