Chapter 183 Kyle

Kyle held her ankle with one hand, but it didn't hinder him from helping her with her wound.

He was wearing disposable rubber gloves, and the ointment had a cooling and pain-relieving effect.

The medicine was so soothing that Molly's toes curled up, and her mind was filled with the beat of her heart.

Kyle noticed but remained expressionless.

After that, he took off the gloves and threw them in the trash, along with the oatmeal Robert had bought.

He stepped out for a moment, then came back in with a thermos and raised the head of the bed.

"Molly, do you want me to feed you, or you'd like to do it yourself?" he asked politely.

Molly hadn't recovered from the fact that he had applied the ointment to her body. She responded to his call the second time. "I'll eat by myself."

Their hands brushed against each other, and Kyle said, "Don't move; I'll unwrap it."

He lowered the small table, skillfully scooped the oatmeal into a small bowl, and then went to get a spoon.

Molly noticed his hands were very beautiful, with no extra nails. They were very clean with distinct knuckles.

When he slightly clenched his hands, the veins were prominent, making them look very strong.

Looking at him, she felt her face hot again.

This wasn't the first time he had applied ointment for her.

Kyle handed her the spoon, and Molly realized she was starving.

She immediately took it and started eating.

After she finished, Kyle cleaned the table and lowered the bed again.

"Molly, sleep; I'll keep an eye on you."

Molly shook her head at him and said, "Kyle, thanks. But no."

Kyle didn't say anything, just looked at her with clear, bright eyes.

He looked at her so directly that Molly turned her face away to dodge his gaze.

Molly said, "You are not the only one my dad sponsored for college. These two times of the help you've given me in the hospital is more than enough to repay. You don't need to get involved with me anymore. You've seen it; anyone who gets involved with me won't end up well."

Kyle listened quietly, his face still expressionless.

When Molly stopped, he said, "Molly, you didn't recognize me last time. I was very sad then."

Molly knew he was talking about the time when they were in the hospital's safety corridor.

At that time, she was preoccupied with Robert and really didn't have much impression of Kyle.

Besides, the last time they met was when Kyle was 15, and she accompanied her dad on a poverty alleviation trip. There were many people at the middle school, and Kyle wasn't the most noticeable one.

She really didn't have much impression of him.

Six years had passed in a flash, and now he was already interning at the hospital.

Kyle looked down at her and asked, "Molly, do you love that man?"

Molly didn't hesitate to say, "I don't love him."

She now understood that the one she had loved was the simple and somewhat silly Robert from before, not the current ruthless man who wouldn't even spare her parents.

Seeing her deep in thought, Kyle gently turned her face back.

"Molly, I thought you would understand my feelings when I helped you with the ointment."

Kyle had very beautiful eyes, especially clear and pure. Molly couldn't resist looking into them.

Molly sensed what he was about to say, and her eyes flickered.

She was in trouble now and didn't want to drag anyone else down.

So, before Kyle could say anything, Molly quickly said, "Kyle, I only see you as a brother. You can see that, although I don't love him, I have a very complicated relationship with him. You're doing well now, and my dad would be very pleased to see that. That's enough."

Molly paused and continued, "So, it's better if we maintain what we are."

This was a very clear rejection.

After speaking, Molly was about to turn her face away but was gently held by Kyle.

He didn't say anything; he just looked at her for a few seconds.

He suddenly lowered his head, and just as his lips were about to touch hers, he stopped.

A faint smile appeared on his lips as he looked at her and said softly, "Molly, when I'm better than that man, you'll be mine."

Kyle left, but Molly's mind was still in a daze.

Everything he said seemed unbelievable to her.

Kyle had always been a little kid in her eyes.

But now, she felt she couldn't quite handle him.

On Friday morning, Harper received a notification from Noah, asking her to send the address so he could pick her up.

She sent the address and went downstairs after that.

She took a few steps forward and saw a black SUV, with Noah sitting in the passenger seat, beckoning her over.

Harper opened the door and got in, only to find a woman in the back seat. It was Lily.

The moment Lily saw her, hostility spread across her face. She said to Noah, "Noah, is she your tutor?"

Noah let out a hmph in response.

Lily didn't like her, and Harper thought it was quite a coincidental meeting.

She closed the door and sat by the door, far from Lily.

Seeing Harper with just a small backpack, Lily smiled maliciously, "You're going in that?"

Harper nodded.

Lily's smile grew even wider.

She suddenly turned very excited about the trip.

As the car started, Harper glanced at the front seat and realized the driver was Francis.

He was wearing sunglasses and, unusually, not a suit but a navy windbreaker, looking particularly casual and handsome.

Harper observed Noah and Lily's outfits and got a sense of what was happening.

They were going hiking.

But Noah hadn't told her, clearly intending to mess with her.

But since she was already there, there was no point in overthinking it.

Harper closed her eyes and leaned against the window to rest.

The hiking spot was quite far, and Francis's driving was so smooth that Lily gradually got sleepy.

She had been leaning against the window, but as she fell asleep, her head turned towards Harper and rested on her.

Harper wasn't asleep and felt it.

But because Francis was driving in the front, she didn't want to open her eyes and risk awkward eye contact, so she pretended to sleep and didn't push Lily away.

After a while, she really did start to feel sleepy.

Francis's driving was just so smooth.

Before falling asleep, Harper thought that having a girlfriend really made a difference.

Previously, when Francis drove her, it was like the car had a grudge against him, and he went on a rampage.

Now, he was very considerate.

When the car stopped, Harper immediately woke up. She had dozed off but wasn't as deeply asleep as Lily.

Lily's head rested on her thigh, and she had her arm around Harper's waist, sleeping soundly.

Harper nudged Lily, but she didn't move.

At that moment, the back door suddenly opened.

Francis's face appeared unexpectedly in front of Harper. He patted Lily's back as if to wake her up.

As a result, Lily, who had a bad temper when waking up, swung her hand and slapped Harper in the face.
