Chapter 558 Audrey Was Brutally Abused 3
Even so, Francis felt like all this wasn't nearly enough to make up for the evil Audrey had done.
Harper looked at Audrey's terrifying face, getting more and more freaked out. She didn't even look human anymore; it was downright horrifying! Stanley was just too brutal. He cut so deep she could see Audrey's teeth inside.
A mouth wrecked like that? No amount of money could fix it.
Harper was scared Audrey might lose it and hurt Francis, so she grabbed his arm, "Francis, let's go..."
Before Harper could finish, a sudden, gut-wrenching scream filled the air. Audrey lunged at Harper like a maniac, trying to tear her apart.
As Harper reached out to block, Francis was already ahead. He took the wooden stick he was using as a cane and whacked Audrey hard! Audrey, hit hard, coughed up blood and fell back, making a sickening sound.
Francis didn't even look at Audrey; he was too worried about Harper, "Did she touch you?"
Seeing his bloodshot eyes, Harper got a bit scared. Francis looked like he was about to explode! Harper quickly reassured him, "She didn't touch me."
Hearing this, Francis seemed to calm down a bit, but he still looked furious. Audrey had always been vicious, good with tricks and poison needles. If she had lunged at Harper to inject her like Chloe did last time, it could've been a disaster, and a disaster for two, given Harper's pregnancy.
Just thinking about it made Francis want to tear Audrey apart!
Francis gripped the stick tightly, the veins on his hand bulging like they were about to burst. At that moment, he had only one thought: he couldn't wait any longer! He didn't want Audrey to be slowly tortured by the Charles family anymore. Now! He wanted to kill her! Even if it meant breaking the law, he didn't care anymore!
Audrey lay on the ground like a dying, abandoned dog. Her mouth was wide open, letting out that eerie, intermittent laughter. Francis limped forward, using the stick to pry open Audrey's tightly clenched hand. Just as he thought, in Audrey's palm was a poison needle!
The veins on Francis's forehead bulged instantly; Audrey had indeed intended to poison Harper!
Suddenly, a violent rage surged from his feet to his eyes. Francis's beautiful eyes turned blood-red with anger. "You wanted to poison Harper?"
Each word was like it was chewed up and spat out, showing just how much hatred and madness Francis had.
Audrey didn't care at all, showing no remorse, "Of course. If I can't have a good life, neither can any of you! Especially Harper."
She pointed her finger at Harper, gritting her teeth, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have ended up like this. You wretch!"
Even now, Audrey wouldn't repent; she just blamed everyone else.
Audrey kept going, "Harper, if it weren't for you, would Francis have been poisoned and nearly died? That needle was meant for you. Your miscarriage was your own fault. You shouldn't be by Francis's side. You've brought him so much disaster. Every time he's hurt or in danger, it's because of you. You're a curse!"
With a loud snap, Francis mercilessly broke the index finger on Audrey's only good hand. Audrey screamed in pain.
"You!" Francis, having held back his anger for so long, finally exploded. "Shut up!"
Earlier, she had shot at Harper, and now she wanted to inject her with a poison needle! Just those two actions were enough to make Francis want to tear Audrey apart.
Francis knelt on his good knee, half-squatting, and slapped Audrey hard!
This was the first time he had ever hit a woman.
He had always despised men who hit women, and with his upbringing, he would never lay a hand on a woman. But now, even slapping her wasn't enough; it wouldn't ease the hatred in his heart.
Francis punched Audrey in the face, making her already terrifying face swell and fill with blood. Still not satisfied, he kept punching her, one blow after another.
Harper was stunned. The usually calm Francis was now like a madman, beating Audrey's already disfigured face even more brutally. Each unrelenting blow was delivered with the intent to kill Audrey.
"You deserve to die. No need to wait for the Charles family to execute you. I'll send you to your death right now!" Francis said, picking up a knife from the ground and aiming it straight at Audrey's throat.
Seeing that Francis was about to kill her, Harper rushed over, grabbing his hand holding the knife, and urgently said, "Francis, calm down. Let's leave her to those who should judge her."
In Dreamlandia, killing someone, even an evil person, without self-defense was subject to prosecution. Francis's clean background couldn't be tainted because of this incident.
The redness in Francis's eyes didn't fade because of Harper's words. His face and eyes showed no warmth at all. When he looked at Audrey, it was like he was looking at a dead object.
"She deserves to die! A thousand times over!" The murderous intent in Francis's words shot straight to the ceiling!
Harper used all her strength, barely able to hold his hand. She pleaded, "Francis, listen to me. Don't make a mistake for someone like her. It's really not worth it. Let's go home."
After all, Audrey looked like she wouldn't survive, and the Charles family certainly wouldn't let her go. Why stain his hands with blood for someone like her?
At this moment, Francis's dress pants were already stiff with dried blood, and his white shirt had turned blood-red. There was so much blood that it was impossible to tell if it was all his own or mixed with someone else's.
Especially Francis's leg—only one could walk. The other, with a knee crushed by Stanley, had just taken another hit! If he didn't get treatment soon, who knew what could happen.
Harper was super worried about Francis, holding his hand and not letting her guard down for a second. "Francis, let's go. We need to get to the hospital and let the police handle this."
No matter how much she talked, the murderous look in Francis's eyes didn't fade one bit. He couldn't rest until this villain was gone!
He got why Harper was worried; she didn't want him to get in trouble for killing Audrey. But his health was going downhill fast, and he could barely do anything. If he didn't take out Audrey, he wouldn't die in peace.
The fire in Francis's heart burned hotter and hotter, and the intense killing intent radiated through his skin, making Harper feel the heat. Harper knew he had completely lost it.
At that moment, she realized that when her life was in danger, it could push the usually rational Francis to the brink of insanity. The love or lack thereof she once questioned was now glaringly obvious.
Harper reached out and hugged Francis's stiff body, her voice filled with tenderness, "Francis, please, let's go."
He had endured enough; she just wanted him to be okay now.
Francis's body slowly softened under her embrace. Harper held him tightly, using the wall to slowly get up!
Their phones had been lost in the fight, so they couldn't contact anyone outside to inform them of the situation. Plus, Francis's body was burning up, like he had a fever! He was also clearly a bit dazed and not fully conscious.
At that moment, Audrey's fingers suddenly twitched. After a brief unconsciousness, she woke up again. Struggling to open her eyes, she saw Francis and Harper about to leave.
Audrey called out to Harper with effort, "Harper!"
Harper paused and looked at Audrey. Although her face was still terrifying, she seemed to have a rare moment of clarity.
Audrey had long lost the sensation of pain. This also indicated that her time was running out. She said, "Francis could have been invincible, but because of you, he has a weakness. You have no idea how hard it's been for him to protect you!"
Blood trickled from Audrey's mouth as she struggled to speak, "To Francis, you are a curse. You will eventually get him killed."
The word "killed" made Harper feel very uncomfortable. Luckily, Francis was dazed at the moment; otherwise, it would have been another mess.
Harper looked at Audrey coldly, "Those who do evil will be punished!"
With that, she ignored Audrey's anger and helped Francis turn to leave.
Even now, Audrey's malice didn't let up. Her eyes were filled with a fierce light as she tried to prop herself up to chase and kill Francis and Harper. But halfway up, her arm suddenly gave out, and she fell straight to the ground.
The fall was heavy, causing her to spit out a large mouthful of black blood. Lying flat, the blood couldn't spread and flowed back in, choking her.
Audrey coughed violently, her arms turning purple-red, clearly choking badly. But after that fall, her body felt like it was falling apart, unable to move. She wanted to curse, but when she opened her mouth, only a dry sound came out. Another rush of blood surged up, choking her even more.
She kept coughing, the foam at the corners of her mouth increasing, and her coughing grew weaker. Her hands kept pounding the ground, as if trying to call for help. But the building was eerily quiet, with only Royce lying unconscious nearby.
Finally, after a struggle, Audrey's body suddenly convulsed violently. Then, she went completely stiff.
Harper helped Francis toward the elevator. The building was now safe, with no threats. With her strength, taking Francis down the stairs was very difficult and risky. The elevator was the safest and most secure option.
After much effort, Harper got Francis into the elevator, leaning him against the wall, allowing herself a moment to rest. She reached out to press the floor button, then turned to see Francis staring at her with his beautiful eyes, unblinking.
Startled, Harper quickly reached out to touch Francis's forehead, asking, "How do you feel? Are you okay?"
Francis grabbed her wrist, his voice hoarse, "Harper, am I dreaming?"
He raised his hand, his rough palm caressing her face, "Are you real?"
He was indeed a bit dazed, as if talking in his sleep.
Harper didn't move, letting him touch her face with his bloody hand. She replied patiently and gently, "It's me, I'm real..."
Before she could finish, Francis suddenly pulled her arm, drawing her into his embrace and holding her tightly. His arms wrapped around her like vines, holding her close without saying a word. He just held her, cherishing the realness of the moment.
Harper felt pain from his tight grip but didn't push him away. At this moment, they needed each other.
Francis's voice came, slightly choked, "Just now, I dreamed of you again. This time, you finally turned back to look at me and even hugged me."
His words made Harper's nose tingle, and a persistent ache rose in her chest.
It turned out that during those torturous days, Francis had dreamed of her many times, and in those dreams, she was always heartless. So much so that Francis mistook their real hug for another dream.
Believing he was dreaming, Francis felt free to hug and kiss her hair. His beautiful eyes gazed at her, filled with hidden emotions, "I missed you so much, but I couldn't see you."
Harper's heart softened, her chest swelling with emotion, "You can always see me."
