Chapter 444 True Love is Equality

Molly's silence made Robert think she was finally letting her guard down. He didn't squeeze her tight but wrapped his arms around her from behind, soaking in that scent that wasn't his.

To him, Molly was like a drug; he knew she'd mess him up inside, but he just couldn't resist.

Robert had been through so much crap that he forgot what love even felt like. Only with Molly did he feel it, clear as day, but he had lost her love in the worst way.

He knew he was guilty and deserved whatever came his way, but he just couldn't let go.

In his twisted mind, only death could separate them, and there was no way he was letting her go. Even if Molly would never love him again, he didn't care as long as his love for her stayed strong.

Robert's voice was rough, almost begging, "Molly, forget the past. Let's start over. I'll show you what love is again."

He had never learned to bow down. Even when he was beaten like a stray dog abroad, he never lowered his head. But in front of Molly, he bowed down again and again, just to get a bit of her pity. Even if it was just a bit, it would keep him from feeling so hopeless.

But Robert forgot that the woman in front of him wasn't the Molly he remembered. The Molly who once genuinely liked him was long gone.

Taking advantage of his lapse, Molly raised her elbow and nailed his wound, hard and ruthless. Then she got up from the water, looking down at Robert, whose handsome face turned pale with pain as he clutched his wound and fell into the bathtub.

"Robert, your love makes me sick. You make me sick. Every word you say makes me sick. So spare my ears. Start over? Are you even worthy? Love? Do you even know what that is?"

Molly didn't hide her disgust for Robert. Even if he was a young and promising entrepreneur in the eyes of others, a handsome heartthrob, a man deeply devoted to his ex-girlfriend, in her eyes, he was just a vicious dog, biting her and refusing to let go. Breathing the same air as him made her sick.

"Robert, true love is equality, mutual respect, not conquering your lover with your filthy means. Someone like you will never understand what love is." Molly shouted.

The disgust in Molly's eyes hurt Robert more than his wound did.

Robert was someone who didn't understand love, but in the years after losing her, he had never felt the same way about another woman. That feeling was his madness mixed with his desire for her, for her body, for her love and everything of hers. He couldn't stop his longing to keep her around him.

While he was tormented in hell every day after losing her, Molly had been living her own little life in a small town abroad and even dating a young man. If she never reappeared, he would likely die alone. But she showed up and said she wanted to escape from his life, which was absolutely impossible for him to accept.

Robert suddenly reached out and grabbed Molly's calf, pulling her down hard.

Molly fell into the water again. She struggled to get up but was quickly pressed back into the water by Robert, with only her head resting on the edge of the bathtub.

All of Molly's struggles and resistance were suppressed by Robert in the warm water.

Even with his injuries, Robert was still a dude with skills, and he had more than enough strength to hold down a woman. He grabbed Molly's jaw with his big hand, his voice rough and cold as he growled, "So, who’s the guy who gets love? Who’s the guy you like?"

Robert pinned her down, his dark, icy eyes locked on hers, and said coldly, "Is it that jerk from the Scott family?"

Molly sneered. Robert was always the same, blaming others.

Kyle was already in his crosshairs. Whether she mentioned him or not, it wouldn't stop Robert from making things tough for him.

Luckily, Kyle had the Scott family to lean on now, and Robert couldn't touch him. If Kyle were just some regular doctor, Robert might have offed him and made it look like an accident.

Molly looked up at Robert and said, "Robert, you’re truly pathetic. Comparing yourself to other men is a joke. What makes you think you're better than them? From the moment you came back and started walking all over me, I stopped liking you. You know I don't love you, yet you keep me around with your BS about love. Do you know what you look like to me? You’re a stray dog, lowly and messed up in the head. You know I don't care about you, yet you still come at me. You’re truly despicable."

Each word was like an ice pick stabbing into Robert's heart. Even though he was strong, he felt completely powerless at that moment.

Molly was right. He always knew Molly didn't like him anymore, but he still couldn't control himself. He was despicable. Even when he was carrying the burden of family revenge and thought she had betrayed him, his overwhelming hatred couldn't cover the deepest love in his heart.

Robert didn't dare to admit it, though. He knew he loved Molly. Even if she killed him a hundred times, or a thousand, he would still love her. He was obsessed and beyond help now.

The water gradually cooled, and Robert's grip loosened. He seemed to be in a dream, mumbling, "Molly, stop talking. Please stop. As long as you don't be with Kyle and don't betray me, I'll do anything you want. But don't be with another man, and don't betray me. I'm begging you, that would drive me crazy."

He really would go crazy. He didn't know what he would do. He feared that in his madness, he would hurt Molly.

Robert feared he couldn't control himself, so he begged her.

The pain in Molly's jaw loosened. Without any hesitation, she bent her knee and nailed Robert's wound hard, without any mercy.

Caught off guard, Robert's neck tilted back, and he fell into the water, his handsome face drained of color.

"Robert, I'll spend the rest of my life killing you. I'm absolutely sure of that."

After saying this, Molly got to her feet and left without a second thought. Naturally, she didn't see Robert's face slowly sinking into the water behind her.

Even if Robert died right then and there, she wouldn't look back at him.

Molly returned to her room, locked the door hard, and moved a chair to block it, just to feel safe. She took another shower, scrubbed every part of her body that Robert had touched until it was red, and then stopped.

Exhaustion washed over her, and she fell onto the bed, forcing herself to sleep. Tomorrow was the real beginning of her plan.
