Chapter 426 Warmth In Her Heart

After saying this, Molly spun around, her right hand already fiddling with the dress button, like she was about to strip any second.

The bodyguard in black was sweating bullets, forehead and back drenched. No way he could watch Robert's girl undress in front of him, especially if he wanted to keep breathing. Even the ones Robert had dumped were off-limits. They were marked by Robert, after all.

The bodyguard bolted out and slammed the door shut before Molly could get her dress off.

Molly heard the door click, smirked a bit, grabbed a towel, and headed to the bathroom.

Water was running, she rinsed off quick, wrapped herself in a towel, and pressed a hidden switch on the wall. A secret panel slowly spun open. Stepping inside, she was met with a chaotic blackboard plastered with a web of relationships and countless photos.

Molly plugged the USB drive into the computer.

That morning at Robert's villa, she was in such a rush she only saw the title and copied it without a second glance.

When the USB drive opened, it was packed with dirty photos and videos of Adrian Mitchell, the Mitchell family heir, with several women, sometimes more than one at a time.

Molly knew Robert was super cautious. With his suspicious nature, he’d definitely keep some dirt on his close partners for future use. Clearly, these were scandals Robert had collected, and he probably set them up himself.

If these photos went public, it’d be a massive hit to the Mitchell family! It’d tank their stock and wreck the company’s image, especially since some Mitchells worked in the government and wouldn’t want such a mess at home.

A slick idea popped into Molly’s head. She blurred the photos a bit and then sent them anonymously to Adrian Mitchell’s email.

Lately, she’d been working behind the scenes with the Mitchell family, so getting Adrian’s contact info was a breeze.

Soon, a quick reply popped up.

Adrian: [Who are you?]

Molly: [Not important.]

Adrian: [What do you want?]

Molly: [An exchange.]

Adrian: [Money? How much?]

Molly: [I don’t want money.]

Adrian: [Then what?]

Molly: [A contract from five years ago.]

Adrian: [What contract? I don’t get it.]

Molly: [Maybe Mr. Mitchell will remember when these photos and videos hit the internet.]

Adrian: [How do we trade?]

Molly: [Wait for my notification.]

After that, Molly uploaded the videos and photos to an untraceable cloud drive, then yanked out the USB drive and smashed it to bits.

She went back to the bathroom, re-wet her hair, then got dressed and walked out.

The bodyguard outside saw her and immediately stepped up, saying, "Ms. Koch, it's time. We need to head back to the villa."

Molly smirked. "Let's roll."

Harper had been grinding in the studio all day. When lunchtime rolled around, her phone buzzed. It was a video call from Francis.

Harper picked up. Francis’s handsome mug popped up on the screen.

Francis asked, "Eating lunch?"

Harper nodded, "Yeah."

"Show me your lunch," Francis said.

Harper pointed the camera at the food and gave him the rundown on each dish.

Francis said, "Looks good, but no soup. Who made it?"

Harper replied, "The housekeeper."

"So, what are you planning to cook for me?" Francis suddenly asked.

Harper thought for a sec, couldn’t decide, and said, "I don't run a restaurant here, and you can't order food. You'll eat whatever I make."

Seeing Harper's smug look, Francis flashed a doting smile. "I'm not picky. I love whatever you make."

"When do you want it?" Harper asked.

Francis watched her munch on a piece of kale, her cheeks puffed up, and his eyes darkened.

"Tomorrow night, are you free?" Francis replied.

If it weren't for a meeting tomorrow morning, he would've come to see her today, no doubt.

Harper thought about it. She had to deliver the medicine Molly asked for tomorrow, but that was in the afternoon. Willowbrook Falls was just a remote suburb of Northfield, and it’d take a little over an hour to get there and back, so she could make it back in time.

She nodded and said, "Tomorrow night then."

Francis was in a good mood. He looked at her small mouth and said, "Your lips..."

"What?" Harper thought there was something on her lips and looked left and right at the phone, but saw nothing.

Francis said, "Bring your ear closer. I'll tell you."

Harper really thought there was something wrong with her lips and carefully put the phone to her ear.

She heard Francis's voice whispering, "They're inviting me to kiss them."

Harper's face turned beet red. He was such a tease.

This feeling of whispering sweet nothings in a noisy crowd suddenly made Harper feel like they were a couple in love.

Harper pouted slightly, "There are so many people here."

Francis's lips curved into a smile as he said, "That's why I'm only saying it to you."

Francis's face on the screen was dazzlingly handsome. Harper's heart pounded faster. Along with the chaotic heartbeat, there was a hint of sweetness rising from her heart.

"I have to work now," she said, flustered.

Francis saw Harper's red face and said with a smile, "Okay, don't overwork yourself."

Harper said reflexively, "Take care of your arm."

Harper was stunned for a moment.

So was Francis.

Then, his eyes lit up, deep and intense as he said, "I could feel a stronger urge to kiss you."

Harper's face turned red as she said, "Can you think of anything normal?"

"This is normal." Francis looked at the screen, his eyes full of allure as he said, "Normal between a couple like us."

Harper's long eyelashes trembled, and her ears burned. She had no doubt that if Francis were in front of her now, he would devour her.

"I'm hanging up." Harper hurriedly hung up.

She began to reflect on their relationship. Were they getting too close?

At that moment, the receptionist walked over. "Ms. Murphy, a man named Victor outside wants to see you."

"Let him in," Harper said.

Soon, Victor came in carrying a wooden food box and placed it on the table.

"Ms. Murphy, this is the soup Mr. Getty ordered for you, enjoy," Victor said and left.

Harper looked at the food box; it was from a restaurant that wasn't very close. So, Francis had been chatting with her while ordering soup for her?

Harper opened the food box, and the aroma filled the air. She took a sip, which warmed her stomach along with her heart.

Harper opened her phone and started looking at recipes. It had been a long time since she cooked, and she felt rusty. She needed some good ideas about what to cook.

The next day, Harper left directly from the company after finishing her work in the morning.

She had observed for three days and found no one following her, but to be cautious, she had the family driver drive back, pretending she was going home.

In the meantime, she drove herself out from another underground exit. She followed the navigation for half the journey when suddenly, there was a bang coming from the car.
