Chapter 267 Save My Dad
Reality finally won out over conscience.
Simon got up, walked to the computer, plugged in a USB drive, and said, "Mr. Koch, you need to see this."
The computer started playing a video of a man and woman together, moaning and groaning.
Harrison's face twisted in confusion until he realized the woman was his daughter, Molly.
He also recognized the man—Robert, the guy he had separated from Molly years ago.
Molly looked like she was just enduring Robert's rough treatment. It wasn't love; it was one-sided violence.
Harrison's mind went blank. He wanted to turn off the computer, but his hands were shaking too much.
Tears streamed down his wrinkled face. He wanted to save Molly, but he couldn't.
Harrison fell to the ground, shaking, and begged Simon, "Turn it off. Please, save my daughter."
He thought turning off the video would save her.
But Simon didn't stop the video. He made sure Harrison saw everything.
The video showed not just Robert but also Henry abusing Molly.
Harrison watched helplessly as Molly was tortured, his heart breaking.
His sweet Molly, how could this happen? These monsters!
Harrison's screams were weak and hoarse.
He felt like a terrible father who hadn't protected his daughter.
Simon squatted beside him and said, "Mr. Koch, your daughter ended up like this because of you and the company."
Harrison remembered when the company first had trouble. He had forced Molly to handle company affairs, fearing that was her last chance to learn how to manage a company under his guidance, before he passed away..
He had told her to do whatever it took to keep the Koch Group afloat.
He just wanted her to keep her dowry, but his words had pushed her to the edge.
Harrison's chest hurt intensely. Lying on the ground, he gasped for air, his face twisted in pain.
Simon, now devoid of pity, handed Harrison a stack of documents and said, "There's an even bigger disaster ahead for her, and it's still because of you."
Harrison's eyes widened, almost popping out. His hands and feet twitched as he pointed at Simon, stammering, "Who... who sent you?"
Simon looked down. He didn't know either.
Last night, he got a mysterious call with instructions to pick up some documents and follow orders. In return, they'd solve a problem for him.
"Mr. Koch, don't worry about that. My job's done," Simon sighed. "Honestly, why drag your daughter down with you? Wouldn't it be better to just end it all?"
Downstairs at the Koch Group.
Molly saw Leah coming down and quickly asked, "Mom, why are you here? Can Dad handle things upstairs?"
Leah was about to answer when a few uniformed men walked in.
They held a subpoena and asked loudly, "Where's Mr. Koch?"
Molly's heart skipped a beat. "What do you need my father for?"
The officer replied, "It's a contract dispute. We need him for an investigation."
"Contract dispute?" Molly took the subpoena and saw the contract number.
Her legs almost gave out. It was the trap contract she had forced Robert to destroy.
What was Robert doing? Hadn't he agreed to let it go?
The officer asked, "Ms. Koch, where is your father?"
Molly's hands shook, and her heart raced. She clenched her fists to calm down. "Let me make a call to find out."
The officer nodded. "Go ahead."
Molly squeezed Leah's hand and whispered, "Go check on Dad. I'll make a call. Don't worry, he'll be fine."
Leah hurried upstairs.
Molly, holding her phone, walked to the door and dialed Robert's number with trembling hands.
The phone rang twice before being hung up. The message was clear.
But Molly didn't give up. She kept calling, praying, 'Answer the phone. Please answer!'
She wanted to tell Robert she'd do anything—have his child, be his mistress—if he'd spare her dad.
On the fifth call, she got a cold automated message.
Molly's mind went blank, tears blurring her vision. She instinctively pleaded, "Robert, please save my dad."
Before she could finish, she heard a commotion outside.
Someone in the crowd shouted, "Oh my God! Someone's about to jump!"
Molly's mind went completely blank.
