Chapter 625 The Loving Engaged Couple

The courthouse entrance was always a place of disputes, with many people coming and going, stopping to watch.

Such noisy incidents were not uncommon, and people didn't find them surprising.

"Molly, if I were you, I'd be smart and beg for mercy now. Robert doesn't really care about that bastard child of yours, probably just as uneducated as you," Lydia said smugly, as if she couldn't stop herself.

Molly suddenly raised her hand and slapped her.

A crisp sound echoed, and Lydia's ear was left ringing.

It took Lydia a moment to react. She covered her numb face, full of disbelief.

"You... you're crazy!" Lydia never expected Molly to dare hit her.

Lydia thought Molly, with her frail body, was the type to be easily bullied and submissive under a man.

However, from the past to the present, Molly had always been a stubborn and unyielding person.

Given her experiences, if she didn't have a strong mind, she would have long compromised and let Robert arrange her life as he pleased.

From the beginning until now, Molly had been proving one thing: that Robert was wrong.

"Ms. Perot, that slap was me returning the favor," Molly said, "And my child is not a bastard. As for the matters between Robert and me, you'd better hear it directly from Robert before you start pointing fingers. Of course, I won't listen to your opinions, but your slap..."

Molly paused, her eyes showing a hint of ruthlessness. "I will definitely return it."

Molly was no longer alone; she had to be strong and let those who bullied her know that not everyone could step on her.

Lydia seemed shocked by Molly's words, rendered speechless.

Kyle, standing nearby, also did not react.

In Kyle's view, Molly had explained clearly; that she didn't hit Lydia without reason.

Everyone had to pay for their actions. Even if Lydia was his girlfriend, it was the same.

This was the rule of the world, even if Kyle didn't remember many things, the rules were deeply ingrained in his mind.

"You bitch, stand still, don't you dare leave!" Lydia, coming to her senses, rushed up the steps like a mad woman, trying to grab Molly.

She had never been so humiliated in public.

Caspian reached out to stop her.

Lydia, furious, pushed Caspian and angrily shouted, "Get out of the way, who are you!"

Caspian frowned. He had seen many unreasonable, arrogant women like her.

With wealthy parents, they disregarded the law, acting recklessly and domineeringly.

Lydia was clearly someone who liked to cause trouble and bully others.

Caspian directly took out a business card and handed it over, saying sternly, "Ma'am, I am Ms. Koch's attorney. You can hold Ms. Koch accountable for what just happened."

Lydia's expression softened a bit upon hearing this, and she said, "You're right, I'll sue this bitch and send her to jail!"

Lydia's words made her sound like an idiot, as if the court was her family's business and she could send anyone to jail as she pleased.

Molly remained calm. Although she hadn't known Caspian for long, she trusted him because Harper had introduced him.

Moreover, through their interactions, she found Caspian to be very upright and professional, completely trustworthy.

Sure enough, the next second, Caspian coldly said, "Of course, you can file a lawsuit against my client, but I must inform you that you have just committed multiple illegal acts in public, including verbal abuse, public insult, fabricating facts, and intimidation. I have recorded evidence, and we reserve the right to sue you."

Caspian continued, "Also, my client said she was returning a slap, which means you slapped her first. I will legally obtain surveillance footage as supplementary evidence for today's incident. Additionally, the fabricated facts have caused my client severe psychological harm and infringed on her reputation. We will pursue all related liabilities."

"Shut up!" Lydia was furious, not expecting Caspian to be so eloquent, saying a bunch of things she didn't understand.

But it also made her realize that Caspian was formidable and not to be trifled with.

"She insulted me too," Lydia argued unreasonably.

"No, she didn't. I have it all on video," Caspian said.

"You!" Lydia was extremely angry.

Lydia couldn't out-argue Caspian; he was a lawyer, after all, and she couldn't win against him.

She grabbed Kyle and pulled him over. "Kyle, are you just going to watch someone bully me?"

Kyle remained silent, thinking Caspian made a lot of sense.

Lydia was too domineering.

Everyone said he used to love Lydia a lot, but he found it hard to believe he would like such a shallow woman.

Lydia stomped her foot in frustration. "Kyle, didn't you promise my dad you'd take care of me? I've been slapped by this woman."

Kyle didn't respond to her words, only saying indifferently, "Go inside and find Robert. He should be here."

Lydia was unwilling to accept it, thinking, 'Why does Kyle's attitude change whenever he encounters Molly?'

Caspian had no interest in watching this farce and said to Molly, "Please, Ms. Koch."

Molly stepped up a stair, as if remembering something, and turned back to look at Lydia, her gaze cold. "And the man I love is a good and upright person. He deserves my love."

After saying this, Molly glanced at Kyle, and then walked up without stopping.

That glance from Molly wasn't blaming Kyle; it was just that at times like this, she also felt scared and wanted someone to be with her.

But it didn't matter if there wasn't anyone; she was already used to disappointment.

"I don't think you care about me," Lydia complained angrily.

Kyle seemed not to hear her, his clear eyes fixed on that green figure. How could someone wear green so beautifully?

In the courtroom, this was a case being tried behind closed doors.

So, in the gallery, there were only a few close relatives of the plaintiff and defendant.

On Molly's side, there was no one. She didn't want Harper and the others to worry about her, so she hadn't mentioned the lawsuit.

In the defendant's seat, Robert wore refined gold-rimmed glasses, and his high-end tailored suit made him look exceptionally handsome.

From his appearance, he didn't look like someone with a mental illness at all.

In his speech, every answer was perfect and cultured, with appropriate manners.

Such a person was either a great actor or genuinely had no issues.

When it came to the evidence phase, Caspian first submitted a video as evidence, which was the video of the sensational incident in Northfield.

It was a one-sided abuse.

This was something Robert hadn't anticipated; he thought he had erased that video.

But Molly still had the original copy.

A slight smile appeared on Robert's stern face. It seemed Molly had put a lot of effort into this case and had prepared extensively.

Among those surprised was Kyle.

As Kyle watched, his hands unconsciously clenched, a strange anger brewing inside him.

Even though the footage had been edited, he felt an overwhelming urge to jump onto the screen and beat Robert.

Kyle was surprised at his own lack of composure.

After the video finished playing, Caspian said, "As you can see from the video, it shows an incident between my client and the defendant. The defendant is violent and coerced my client into submission. Although my client had reasons for her request at the time, the entire process clearly shows one-sided abuse. Such a person is obviously unfit to be a father, and we have evidence that Mr. Perot has been receiving psychiatric treatment for mental illness."

Caspian presented a report, saying, "This is a pharmacological analysis report of Mr. Perot's medication."

After the evidence was submitted, the judge reviewed it in detail and asked Robert if he agreed with the plaintiff's statement.

"I disagree," Robert immediately retorted without hesitation.

Molly's shoulders trembled upon hearing this, and even Caspian beside her noticed.

Caspian glanced at her and wrote "Relax" on a piece of paper.

Molly slowly calmed down and nodded at Caspian.

Robert didn't say another word, leaving everything to his lawyer.

His lawyer was also very skilled. "Regarding the video, at that time, my client Mr. Perot, and the plaintiff Ms. Koch were both single. People have different preferences in their sex, which is normal. Moreover, it's clear from the video that Ms. Koch was begging my client for sex. They were role-playing, and there was no coercion involved."

Molly's face turned pale, and her fingers dug into her skin, drawing blood.

This shameless person claimed they were role-playing.

Caspian promptly spoke up, "I disagree with the opposing counsel's statement. The video clearly shows a third person, which is not a couple's intimate role-play but a clear case of coercion."

The opposing lawyer calmly replied, "Can the third person testify that this was coercion or abuse?"

Caspian looked troubled. He had previously asked Molly if there was a third party who could testify.

The person in the video was a perfect witness.

Unfortunately, Molly said the person in the video wouldn't testify.

The opposing lawyer said, "It's clear the plaintiff cannot prove it. So why can't the third person be part of their intimate activities?"

Molly's face turned pale, realizing this question was obviously directed by Robert.

Robert knew Kyle wouldn't testify, because he didn't remember anything.

From Kyle's angle, Molly looked helpless and pitiful.

Molly wanted to look at the gallery several times but ultimately held back.

Kyle couldn't help her; he didn't remember anything.

"Furthermore," The opposing lawyer continued, "The pharmacological analysis report provided by the plaintiff is not of the medication my client takes. My client is in good health. Here is the latest medical examination report and the psychiatric evaluation report we obtained from the judicial institution."

The opposing lawyer read aloud, "This report proves that my client has no mental issues."

Molly's face turned completely pale.

Robert had preemptively applied for a court evaluation.

This meant Robert knew from the start that Molly had his psychiatric medication and planned to use it against him.

Everything Molly had painstakingly prepared for so long was already in Robert's grasp.

Molly felt like she was suffocating.

Caspian was also puzzled, thinking, 'Isn't it certain that Robert has a mental illness? How could it suddenly be gone?'

The credibility of judicial evaluations was very high.

And the fact that the opposing side applied in advance showed they already knew their cards.

The opposing lawyer continued to refute, "It's clear that all of this is the plaintiff's imagination. The plaintiff has had years of medical treatment, proving that her physical and mental state is unstable."

Robert's lawyer submitted Molly's overseas medical records from recent years, as well as domestic medical records.

Clearly, in comparison, Molly seemed more like the one with issues.

The subsequent proceedings went quickly, and it was evident that Molly had lost miserably.

Robert, from start to finish, only said he disagreed and easily defeated her.

"No, it's not." Molly choked. "It's not like that. That man is a demon, a madman. He coerced me into having the child. He now wants to force me back into a shameful relationship with him. He's sick, believe me, he's really sick."

Molly's words became increasingly frantic.

Caspian had to stop her.

The court believed in evidence, and such statements would only make the judge think she was the unstable one.

"Please calm down and respect court decorum," The judge said.

At this point, Robert's lawyer spoke again, "The plaintiff's statements are untrue. Mr. Perot got engaged five months ago, and the wedding is set for three months from now. Both partners are emotionally stable and fully capable of raising a child."

As the lawyer said this, Molly noticed that Rosie had also arrived in the gallery at some point.

Rosie smiled at Robert, looking like a loving engaged couple.

Molly was completely panicked, because their logic was almost flawless.

Molly felt like she was truly going crazy.

If she lost Taylor, if Taylor ended up with a demon like Robert, she couldn't imagine what would happen.

And Robert, the demon, wanted to hand Taylor over to another woman to raise.

The final verdict was no surprise.

Taylor was to be raised by the emotionally stable and financially capable Robert.

Molly would need to be certified mentally stable by a hospital before she could exercise visitation rights.

"Why?" Molly protested.

Desperately looking at everyone, Molly screamed, "That's my child."

That was the child she had carried for ten months. How could it become someone else's child, and she didn't even have visitation rights?
