Chapter 238 This Man Is Jealous.

The flowerpot shattered all over the ground.

Molly's chest and back felt like they were being pierced, and she couldn't hold it in anymore, spitting out blood that stained the floor.

Robert picked up the half-conscious Quinn and turned to look at Molly, his eyes dark and empty, like the world was ending.

"Molly, just wait. You're not getting away with this."

A bone-chilling coldness almost instantly froze Molly.

She felt like her ribs had been broken by Robert's kick, and even breathing was painful.

Molly coughed laboriously, blood at the corner of her mouth, looking at the figure that seemed like an abyss, her voice broken and painful, "Robert, I didn't stab her; it was she..."

But Robert had no patience to listen, holding Quinn and striding towards the door.

Zack caught up and asked, "Mr. Perot, what should we do about Ms. Koch?"

Robert paused slightly, then said coldly, "Send her to jail."

Robert didn't have time to deal with Molly now, so he handed her over to the police. At least there, she wouldn't die, and the police would keep her safe.

The chest-crushing pain left Molly no time to think. Her face was pale; her pupils blurred as she watched Robert walk away until Zack dragged her up.

Harper couldn't get in touch with Molly and was very anxious.

When she had no classes, she would go to the hospital to look after Harrison and Leah, who also didn't know where Molly was.

Harper looked at Harrison and Leah's haggard faces and couldn't bear to tell them Molly was missing. It would only add to their worries.

Harper lied, saying Molly was busy and had asked her to look after them.

After more than forty-eight hours, Harper went to the police station to report the case, only to find out that Molly had been put in jail.

Harper wanted to ask what was going on, but since she wasn't a relative, they couldn't disclose any information.

Harper didn't dare tell Harrison and Leah; they couldn't withstand the blow.

In her helplessness, Harper could only think of Francis. He would surely have a way to find out what was going on.

But ever since their last unpleasant parting, she hadn't seen him again. The only news was a TV report saying that the Getty Group was now very close to the Hernandez family of Southvale and that there seemed to be an intention of forming a marriage alliance between the two families.

This good news caused the Getty Group's stock to soar.

Later, Harper once ran into Abigail shopping with Audrey at a mall. The two were as close as a birth mother and daughter.

Only by seeing it with her own eyes did Harper realize that Abigail's previous fondness for her had actually been reserved.

Due to the difference in status, Abigail had not felt comfortable communicating with Harper.

Abigail looked quite awkward when she saw Harper, as if she didn't like Audrey having too much contact with Harper. After a brief nod, she hurriedly left with Audrey.

The sales assistant behind them beamed, "That lady just now was really generous, spending such a fortune to reserve the Dreamlandia wedding series for her future daughter-in-law."

Harper suddenly understood why Abigail hurried away; it turned out that a wedding was on the horizon. No wonder Abigail looked so awkward when she saw her.

Harper stood in the empty mall, touching her flat belly, thinking that this child really came at the wrong time.

But it didn't matter; she hadn't planned to inform them anyway.

There were students in the school who had children while pursuing their graduate studies, and she believed she could also raise the baby well.

But now, with Molly's situation unknown, she really had no other way.

In utter helplessness, she called Victor.

Victor answered quickly, as polite as ever. "Ms. Sackler."

Harper piped up, "Victor, I have to ask if Mr. Getty is busy today?"

Victor looked at Francis, who was about to start a video conference, and replied, "A bit. Is there anything I can pass on for you?"

Harper paused; this matter wasn't easy to convey indirectly.

After thinking for a moment, Harper said, "No, it's okay, sorry to bother you, Victor."

Just as she was about to hang up, she heard Victor say, "Mr. Getty has been staying late at the office recently."

Harper was stunned for a moment. "Thank you."

After hanging up, Harper thought she could message Francis since she couldn't see him in person.

She sent a message, only to find out that he had blocked her.

It seemed Francis really wanted to cut her off.

Harper remembered the day he had said, "From now on, anything about you has nothing to do with me. I don't want to see you again."

Her chest felt tight, and her vision blurred.

Harper had thought about explaining to Francis, but what could she say if they met?

Keith might be a liar, but she wasn't entirely innocent either.

She had indeed listened to Abigail and tried to stay away from Francis.

Harper took a deep breath, looked up at the foggy sky, and forced her tears back.

In the end, she went to find Rhodes, thinking he might have some connections.

Unexpectedly, Rhodes found out that this matter involved Robert and went to ask Francis.

Francis flatly refused, saying he didn't have time to deal with it.

Rhodes called Harper to explain the situation and told her why Molly ended up in the police station.

Harper could hardly believe it; she couldn't believe that Molly would be a murderer.

This made her even more anxious, thinking that Molly was still pregnant. A pregnant woman in the police station would definitely have a hard time.

Harper immediately went to Robert's company to confront him, but Robert refused to see her.

Harper called Victor again. This time, Victor was less polite, only saying Francis was busy and then hanging up.

Harper became anxious. Even though they were busy, she had to keep trying.

Victor's answer was the same.

Even if Harper wasn't a genius, she could tell that Francis didn't want to see her and was cutting her off on purpose.

But she had no other way, so after ten in the night, she called again, "Victor, does Mr. Getty not plan to rest tonight? Just give me a few minutes."

Victor, perhaps annoyed, said, "Mr. Getty is at Twilight Lounge right now."

Harper rushed over as soon as she got the news.

At Twilight Lounge, Harper approached Victor, but Victor awkwardly said, "Sorry, Mr. Getty said he won't see anyone."

Harper bit her lip and asked before Victor could leave, "Then when will he be done? I'll wait outside."

Victor looked at Francis, who was still drinking, and said with difficulty, "I really don't know when he'll be done. You'd better not wait."

Victor knew very well that Francis was angry, furious, especially after Rhodes called today.

Victor guessed that Harper had gone to Rhodes instead of Francis, and Francis was jealous.

In December, late at night, the wind in Northfield was bitterly cold, cutting like a knife.

Harper didn't leave, wrapping her coat tightly around herself as she waited at the entrance of Twilight Lounge. Waves of people bustled about.

Around one in the morning, Harper saw Victor push the door open. Behind him, a man in an expensive custom suit, walking with confidence, was Francis.

But Francis wasn't alone; a beautiful, seductive woman was clinging to his arm, walking out with him.

The bright lights at the entrance of Twilight Lounge illuminated the scene. The woman was not just clinging but almost pressing half her body against Francis, and he didn't push her away, letting her lean on him.

As they passed Harper, he didn't even glance at her, as if she was a stranger.

Harper felt a pang of bitterness in her heart, but she couldn't afford to waste time. She stepped forward and said, "Mr. Getty, can we talk for a few minutes?"

Francis's expression was cold. "No."

With that, he continued walking.

Harper had waited for hours and couldn't let Francis leave. As he passed, she quickly reached out to grab his sleeve, pleading softly, "Just five minutes."

Francis's brows furrowed, and without hesitation, he shook her hand off. Harper had stood in the cold wind for too long. She felt her legs go numb and, caught off guard, fell to the ground awkwardly.

Instantly, a mocking laugh sounded from above.
