Chapter 330 Someone Else's Fiancé
Molly held her forehead in pain and said, "Okay."
This "okay" felt heavier than before.
Kyle paused and asked, "Molly, want to hear Taylor's voice?"
Molly couldn't speak, her throat felt tight, and her heart ached.
After a long silence, she finally said coldly, "No need."
After hanging up, Molly's eyes were empty and cold.
Soon, she felt tears on her face, and all her defenses crumbled.
She never thought she'd both love and hate a child.
Molly curled up on the floor, crying silently but heartbreakingly.
The video of Chloe and Lenora fighting went viral, topping the news for days due to its explosive content.
Lenora's past affairs were exposed, and all involved were married, crossing moral lines and shocking fans.
Almost all of Lenora's fans abandoned her.
She lost all her brand deals and faced huge compensation fees, more than she could afford.
Then, the police reported Maurice from Starlight Entertainment was detained for attempted molestation.
This turned the tables, and fans who had attacked Agnes's kindergarten either were detained or issued online apologies.
This also brought Harper and Elodie Studios into the spotlight.
Many big companies wanted to work with them, and they were swamped with orders.
Even some regular clients of Epoch Studio turned to Elodie Studios, which focused more on Dreamlandia.
Chloe, the director of Epoch Studio, was hit hard by this exposure.
Though she found a loophole to prove she wasn't directly involved in Maurice's incident, Epoch Studio's stock still dropped.
Even after kicking Chloe off the board, they couldn't regain lost clients.
High-end clothing clients, like celebrities and wealthy individuals, saw more benefits in the Dreamlandia style.
Dreamlandia was gaining power, and its people wanted its style to grow stronger.
Elodie Studios perfectly encapsulated this ambition with their ringing slogan: "Bringing Dreamlandia Style to the World."
Harper had been extremely busy, but luckily, Jessica was in the studio.
Jessica quickly managed both design and management, helping Harper a lot.
Agnes, scared from that day, had been fussy at night. Harper stayed with her for two nights, getting dark circles under her eyes.
Zoey suggested she rest more, but today was a rare day off, and she had promised Agnes a trip to the amusement park.
Agnes was super excited and started picking out clothes early in the morning.
She pulled out a bunch of princess dresses, comparing them and asking Zoey for help.
Zoey picked a cute red one with a little cape and hood.
Zoey teased, "Is our Agnes so happy to go to the amusement park?"
"Because Agnes can see someone she wants to see."
Zoey asked, "Who does Agnes want to see?"
Agnes pouted cutely and said, "Daddy Francis. He promised me last time he'd go to the amusement park with me."
Zoey was surprised; she didn't know Harper had arranged to meet Francis.
Zoey patted Agnes's hood and said, "Agnes, play with the bunny here for a bit. I'll go see if Mommy is ready."
In another room, Zoey told Harper what Agnes had said.
Harper was stunned for a moment, then remembered it was something they had agreed on when they said goodbye last time.
But Agnes, being so young, didn't know to make arrangements with adults. She just thought going to the amusement park meant going with Francis, which troubled Harper.
It was sudden, and Francis might not be available. Plus, she didn't really want to see Francis; it felt weird to go out with her ex-husband and Agnes.
Harper knocked on the door and tried to talk to Agnes. "Agnes, how about just the two of us go today?"
Agnes's expectant expression fell. She was different from other kids, more sensitive. She thought Francis didn't want to take her. Her little mouth pouted, and she was about to cry but held back.
Agnes nodded sullenly. It wasn't that she thought Harper was bad, but Francis had promised to go with her. The disappointment was too much for a child her age to hide. She took off the red hooded cape she had excitedly chosen, hugged her bunny, and walked to the corner.
Soon, Zoey noticed Agnes's little shoulders shaking.
Harper saw it too, and her heart ached, knowing Agnes was overthinking it.
Zoey felt sorry and asked Harper, "How about a call?"
Harper wasn't sure if it would work but called anyway.
The phone rang for a long time without being answered.
Harper was about to give up but, thinking of Agnes's disappointed face, called again.
This time, after a few rings, it finally connected.
Harper felt nervous. "Hello, I wanted to ask if you..."
Before she could finish, a woman's voice came on. "Sorry, Francis is in a meeting."
Harper was stunned, then the woman asked, "Is this Harper?"
Harper responded.
"I'm Audrey, we met last time," Audrey said.
Harper remembered her but wasn't interested in chatting, so she said coldly, "Since he's busy, I'll hang up."
But Audrey didn't hang up. She chuckled and said, "I remember you said last time you didn't like Francis. If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to ask other men for help? After all, it's quite impolite to bother someone else's fiancé, don't you think?"
