Chapter 404 The Show Just Starts

Honestly, with a cousin as hot as Robert, it was tough for any regular dude to catch Lydia's eye.

Loads of rich heirs had tried to win her over, but she wasn't into any of them. She only had eyes for the Scott family's newly returned illegitimate son.

Everyone said Lydia was way out of Kyle's league.

Even though the Scott family was super prestigious, Kyle was the kid his dad, Rene Scott, had with some other woman, which made things pretty awkward for him.

The current heir of the Scott family, Kyle's brother, was in his forties. Suddenly, a brother in his twenties showed up, which was not exactly a proud moment. Even though he was against it, Rene insisted on bringing Kyle back.

At a party, Lydia met Kyle, and her heart skipped a beat. She couldn't stop thinking about him since then.

She told Robert, and soon the Scott family came to propose a match between her and Kyle.

Lydia looked into Kyle's clear, bright eyes, felt a rush of affection, and nervously offered him a spoonful. "Kyle, wanna try this?"

Kyle's eyes were blank.

Blushing, Lydia moved the spoon closer to Kyle's lips and shyly said, "Kyle, please."

The next second, the spoon hit the ground!

Lydia froze, the sensation of her fingers being hit was so clear.

She looked at Kyle in disbelief, wondering if he had knocked the spoon away by design.

Kyle's gaze still didn't fall on Lydia, his Adam's apple moved slightly, and he said, "Sorry. I didn't notice."

Lydia's awkward expression eased a bit. Thankfully, he didn't do it on purpose.

This small commotion caught Robert's attention.

"Lydia, what's up?" He asked Lydia, but his eyes were coldly fixed on Kyle.

Lydia smiled and said, "It's nothing. I just slipped. I'll go change."

Lydia loved cleanliness and couldn't stand even a bit of stain on her, so she usually carried spare clothes in the car when she went out.

She looked at Kyle coquettishly and said, "Kyle, can you help me get my clothes, please?"

Kyle's gaze fell on Molly's red lips. He watched her having oatmeal porridge as if it were the most delicious thing in the world, and his heart felt stifled!

Kyle let out a meaningless chuckle, took the keys, and went out.

Robert's eyes never stopped scrutinizing Kyle. Compared to before, Kyle seemed more composed and patient.

He tugged at his tie, loosened it, and looked at Lydia expressionlessly, "Lydia, just have fun. Don't take it seriously. He's not good enough for you."

Instantly, Molly's right hand holding the spoon tightened.

Lydia didn't like hearing this, pouted, and said, "Robert, don't say that about Kyle. He's really nice. A gentleman. He's nice to me."

In fact, they had only met for the first day, and Kyle had barely said three sentences to Lydia. Kyle seemed quite indifferent to her.

But when a woman fell in love, she liked to fantasize and deceive herself.

Robert raised his eyebrows slightly, his dark eyes glanced at Molly, who was having her oatmeal porridge, and he smirked, "Nice? In what way?"

Lydia couldn't come up with anything, so she pretended to be shy, lowered her head and said, "Robert, you're so annoying. Why so many questions?"

Robert played with the thin cigarette in his hand and said in a low voice, "Since he makes you happy, let him serve you. People of his kind need a woman to serve anyway."

"Robert, what's that?" Lydia's heart skipped a beat, worried Kyle might hear when he walked in. Plus, there were other people around; she hated how Robert was trash-talking Kyle.

Molly's hands clenched tighter, the discomfort in her chest growing stronger. Robert was just too gross for her.

Robert looked at Molly's pale, clenched hand and said, "A bastard trying to climb up to our Perot family, it's his luck to serve you."

"Robert, keep it down!" Lydia had already spotted Kyle coming in from the corner of her eye, feeling a bit guilty.

"Does he serve you well?" Robert suddenly asked Molly.

From his gaze to his head tilt, to his tone, he was actually asking Molly.

Lydia was puzzled, just about to speak, but was interrupted by a series of coughs.

Molly's face turned red. She was coughing non-stop.

Robert moved closer, reached out to pat her back, his tone cold, "What's the rush? The show's just starting."

He said this without any particular reason.

Molly suddenly retched.

Robert's calm face instantly changed.

The next second, Molly vomited, all over him! The oatmeal porridge was completely undigested.

Robert's face looked extremely unpleasant.

Molly's stomach felt very uncomfortable, she panted and breathed, "Sorry."

Before she could finish, she retched again, hurriedly got to her feet, covering her mouth, and ran to the restroom.

Robert smelled the sour oatmeal porridge on him, his handsome face looked as cold as an ice cellar.

A waiter came over and asked warily, "Sir, we have a room for VIPs where you can take a shower, would you like to change there?"

Robert nodded with a cold face.

After the waiter fetched the clothes from the car, he went to change with a sour expression.

Lydia also went to a room to change.

Molly vomited all the oatmeal porridge in the restroom, but the feeling of nausea still lingered.

Coming out to the sink, she rinsed her mouth with a cup, then splashed her face with cold water to calm the redness on her face.

When she looked up again, a clear, pretty face appeared in the mirror.

Kyle was leaning against the door frame, one hand in his pocket. He was waiting for her.

The restroom was silent, neither spoke first, just silently stared at each other through the mirror.

Molly looked at Kyle's face and thought of her life abroad.

Kyle often came to cook for her on weekends when he wasn't working, and even helped the nanny take care of the child.

Although he was very young, he was very good at taking care of children.

Molly dreaded touching the soft and fragile Taylor, but Kyle handled it with ease.

So, Taylor became more and more attached to him.

Thinking back to those easy days, she shouldn't have and didn't deserve to have them.

Her parents were still waiting for the day she would get justice for them.

Behind her, Kyle blurted out, "Molly, I didn't."

Molly's heart pounded. With just a few words, she grasped what he meant.

With years of friendship, Kyle knew she understood him.

Kyle was telling her he hadn't been ambiguous with other women. Even though she didn't need his explanation, he still wanted to say it.

Kyle took a step closer, looking at Molly in the mirror, and said, "Molly, I will never betray you!"

The young heartbeats, passionate and intense made his promise fervent and burning.

But Molly didn't dare to listen, nor did she dare to think further.

The path she was on was full of thorns and obstacles, she shouldn't drag anyone else down!

Molly heard herself coldly say, "Kyle, it's none of my business."
