Chapter 418 I'll be There For You

Molly was fuming. She tried to yank her wrist free, but Robert had a death grip on it.

She didn't push his buttons any more. One jab at his wound was enough.

Otherwise, knowing him, she was sure he'd definitely get rougher.

She wanted justice for the Koch family, but not at the cost of her life for an ending where he still walked the earthm intact.

Seeing Molly stop fighting, Robert tightened his hold on the back of her head, pulling her close.

The kiss was hot and intense. Robert seemed to think he could melt her anger with his heat.

Robert liked her giving in and silently applauded Molly for not pushing him again. Otherwise, who knew what he'd do.

The cut on Robert's brow looked nasty, and his arms, sculpted from years of training, were strong and unyielding.

He didn't let go until Molly's face was completely flushed from the kiss.

Molly's beautiful eyes were icy cold. The more Robert looked at her, the more his heart ached.

Before she could spit out more venom, he cut in, "Aren't you heading to the company? But first, I need to collect my compensation."

Molly was taken aback. She thought she'd have to haggle with him. But he agreed easily, wanting his due. Even so, she wouldn't let him play her with his tricks. This wasn't business.

Molly wiped her lips hard, like she was scrubbing off dirt, and snapped, "Next time you try that, you'll regret it. I won't let you off."

Robert smirked, "You better not."

He never expected her to go easy on him. In fact, her fire only excited him more.

Molly was too mad to speak. She didn't want to argue with this jerk anymore. She stood up to leave but Robert grabbed her wrist again.

Molly's face turned red with anger, and she spat, "What do you want now?"

Robert casually reminded her, "Don't cross my line, got it?"

This was the second time he said that. Line?

Molly studied Robert's face, which gave nothing away.

She hid her true feelings and sneered, "Robert, do you even have a line?"

Robert let go and smiled faintly, "I wouldn't hurt you."

This was the real Robert, no fake fronts, always a madman who'd do anything to get what he wanted!

Molly's eyes turned red as she quietly looked at him and said, "Robert, stop making excuses. Saying that means you want to control me by hurting me. I won't give you that chance."

Robert raised an eyebrow, unfazed by Molly seeing through him. "Mark my words. We're meant to be together, in hell or heaven."

Molly felt a chill run down her spine. She wanted to bolt.

"Come back tonight," Robert ordered calmly.

Molly paused and asked, "What do you mean?"

"You still have to take care of me at night."

Robert smiled faintly, "Sorry for not being clear. The compensation I mentioned is just for you leaving during the day."

"Have you no shame?" Molly gritted her teeth.

Robert's face was blank, his tone lightly mocking, "Aren't you supposed to be kinder than me? In your kind world, isn't it right to take care of someone you stabbed?"

Molly sneered, "Not if that guy's a bastard."

Robert's patience finally snapped, and he said darkly, "Looks like you wanna stick around."

"I wanna go." Molly knew he wouldn't let her off easy, but even a few hours away from him was a win. She eyed him warily, worried he'd change his mind.

"Going back on your word makes you less of a man," Molly shot back.

Robert seemed amused, his dark mood lifting a bit, and he chuckled, "You wouldn't doubt my manliness after all those fun nights together."

Molly's face turned red, and she spat, "You make me sick."

Then she slammed the door and stormed out. Behind her, Robert's eyes, which had just been filled with amusement, darkened.

As she passed through the front yard of the villa, Molly saw Zack kneeling on the ground and stopped.

Bending down, she patted Zack's shoulder like she was brushing off dust.

Then she twisted the knife, "Zack, looks like Robert doesn't think much of you!"

Zack's face twisted in anger.

Molly just smirked and walked away.

She knew Zack wouldn't be swayed, but making him resent Robert was good enough. When a loyal servant and his master had a rift, there'd be a gap. Besides, Zack was never innocent.

Molly walked out the door and took a deep breath of the fresh air outside.

She got into the car Robert had set up and headed to the company, with his men in tow. Before leaving, she glanced at the gloomy villa and smiled.

Zack got to his feet with a limp, and a key fell from his pocket. It was the one he had lost.

He went back to the room, where Robert was half-leaning against the headboard with a laptop in front of him.

Seeing him come in, Robert asked in a low voice, "Done?"

Zack nodded.

Robert said indifferently, "You can go now."

The room fell silent.

Robert looked at the grayish wall, silently pulled at his lips, and thought to himself, 'Molly, don't let me down!'

Harper left Robert's villa with a calm expression.

Francis, who was driving, blurted out, "Say it if you're down."

Seeing him take the initiative, Harper decided to give it a shot and said, "Francis, can you talk Robert into letting Molly go?"

"No," Francis replied coldly.

Harper's breath caught as Molly's instruction not to let Francis know dawned on her.

Just as she sided with Molly, Francis naturally sided with Robert.

Harper had nothing more to say and nodded. "Okay."

Then she turned to look out the window.

Francis felt frustrated again and thought, 'That's it?'

But Harper was looking out the window, not interested in talking to him.

Francis got even angrier and pondered, 'This ungrateful Harper, ditching me right after using me.'

As they neared their destination, Harper suddenly exclaimed, "Pull over."

Francis braked slowly and asked, "What's up?"

Harper's face was flushed as she said, "I need to buy something."

"What?" Francis asked.

Harper hesitated, then pointed to a pharmacy, "I need to go there."

Francis thought for a moment and understood, his face darkening. "You don't need to take birth control pills."

Harper's face heated up and she said, "No, I need to."

It was all his fault for not using any protection.

Francis's face was stern, "You're in your safe period. What are you worried about?"

Harper was shocked and asked in surprise, "How do you know?"

"Good memory," Francis said naturally as if it was no big deal.

Harper's ears burned. Francis was so creepy. How could he remember such things?

She corrected him, "Even the safe period isn't completely safe."

Francis's handsome face showed a gentle smile as he said, "So what? I'll be there if you're pregnant. Agnes needs a brother or sister anyway."
