Chapter 490 I Want This Child

Audrey had no clue what went down inside. She was chillin' at the Getty Mansion when Glenn yanked her into the car. The whole ride, she was on edge. Now, seeing Jonathan on his knees in front of Francis, she was even more freaked out.

She figured Francis was trying to squeeze some info out of Jonathan, but she knew Jonathan would never spill the beans. Jonathan's loyalty was rock solid.

Audrey took a deep breath and asked, "Francis, why'd you tie up Jonathan? What'd he do?"

Francis's voice was icy, like a winter chill, "Ask him yourself."

Audrey, unfazed, said, "Jonathan, spill it."

Jonathan kept his head down, not saying a word to Audrey for the first time. Audrey felt something was off and hesitated before saying, "Jonathan?"

Jonathan shifted, turned, and slammed his head on the ground, blood gushing out! The crimson blood trickled down his forehead, staining his brows and eyes, making him look kinda scary.

Jonathan's voice was low and raspy, "Ms. Hernandez, I... I'm sorry."

Audrey was stunned. Jonathan had never betrayed her, never let her down.

Audrey's lips trembled as she tried to stay calm. She snapped, "Jonathan, think before you speak."

Jonathan got the hint; Audrey was warning him. But he had to say it; if he didn't, his kid would be aborted. Audrey would be in danger too.

Jonathan mumbled, "I... your kid..."

Jonathan gritted his teeth and blurted it out, "I'm the father of your kid."

Audrey's face went pale. She stammered, "You, you gotta be kidding?"

She didn't buy it and forced a smile, "Jonathan, you're my assistant, mine. Are you being forced to say this?"

Audrey thought Francis was making Jonathan lie.

Francis smirked and told Victor, "Show her."

Victor handed over three fresh paternity test reports, all matching.

Audrey looked at them, still pretty calm. After a few seconds, she suddenly grabbed the reports and ripped them to shreds.

Audrey shouted, "Francis, you're just trying to get rid of me. You went to great lengths to fool me. I don't believe it. It's impossible. You just don't want to own up to the kid in my belly."

Audrey laughed like a maniac, "I'll let the whole country know how fake you are, Francis. You screwed me, knocked me up, and now you wanna ditch me and your kid."

No matter how crazy Audrey got, Francis stayed silent, but his eyes got even colder.

Jonathan, in shock, stumbled on his knees towards Audrey, broke free from the ropes, and hugged her tightly from behind. "Ms. Hernandez, don't be like this. It's really mine. I'm sorry. It was me last time. It really was me."

"Let go!" Audrey screamed like a madwoman, "You don't deserve to touch me."

Jonathan wouldn't let go, tightly protecting Audrey's belly, scared she might hurt it.

Audrey grabbed an ashtray and smashed it on Jonathan's head!

Bloodied, Jonathan still didn't let go.

Jonathan and Audrey were quite the pair. Francis watched this mess quietly, slowly got up, and said coldly, "By tomorrow, I want all the rumors gone. No matter how you spin it, don't try to pin this kid on me. Otherwise..."

Francis's good looks were twisted with a murderous vibe as he added, "The whole story of Ms. Hernandez getting knocked up by her bodyguard will be all over the place."

The kid was innocent, even if its parents were a mess, but Francis didn't want a kid growing up with such dirty secrets.

Leaving the room, Francis was giving them one last shot.

In the room, Audrey was wiped out, slumped against the sofa. Jonathan, head and face covered in blood, still knelt there, rock solid.

"Jonathan, I will never have a kid whose dad is a filthy, lowly bodyguard." Thinking about her first time with Jonathan made Audrey feel sick. She kicked Jonathan hard again and cursed, "How dare you sleep with me!"

Jonathan stayed quiet, letting Audrey blow off steam. When Audrey finally got tired of hitting him, he spoke slowly, "Ms. Hernandez, I want this child."

Audrey was stunned, "What did you say?"

Jonathan wiped the blood off his face and said firmly, "I want this child."

Audrey huffed, "You bastard, how dare you say that! Do you have what it takes?"

Her raised hand was grabbed by Jonathan. His eyes were dark, straightforward, and determined, reminding Audrey of the first time she met him.

Felix had taken her to the arena to choose her bodyguard. Jonathan had fought five wolves barehanded, and when he tore apart the last wolf, he had that same look in his eyes.

It was because of his resilience that Audrey chose him.

Now, the dangerous signal of Jonathan's rebellion made her immediately alert. Audrey said arrogantly, "There's only one way you can keep the child."

Jonathan let go of her hand and prostrated himself on the ground, "Ms. Hernandez, I'll do anything."

Audrey touched her belly and sneered, "The child must be born as a member of the Getty family."

Jonathan's back stiffened for a second, and then he said softly, "Okay."

He understood he could never acknowledge the child as his own, but he wanted the child to live.

Jonathan boomed, "Ms. Hernandez, at your service."

He had been with Audrey for so long, and he knew her too well. Audrey had the Hernandez family's madness in her blood, she would never accept fate, let alone compromise.

"Get her out," Audrey said.

Jonathan's expression changed as he said, "Ms. Hernandez, she is heavily guarded inside, and the Getty family has many people watching outside, it's very difficult."

Audrey said, "If you can't do it, don't ask me for anything."

Jonathan bowed his head and thought for a few seconds, then looked up and said, "Ms. Hernandez, if I don't come back, will you promise to give birth to this child?"

"Yes, I promise you," Audrey agreed easily.

Jonathan stared intently at Audrey and said, "I have an account in Emerald Isle. I hope Ms. Hernandez can leave my assets to the child. If you don't want to keep the child, give it to my teacher, okay?"

Audrey replied quickly, "Okay."

"Good, Ms. Hernandez, take care." Jonathan looked at Audrey with deep affection.

He was determined to die for this, but he didn't know that Audrey couldn't wait for him to die. But before that, he remained of use to her.

At this moment, Audrey's phone rang. She looked down and saw it was Abigail. She called out, "Mom,"

Abigail's voice came through, "Audrey, where did you go? I woke up and didn't see you."

"Mom, Francis he..." Audrey choked up.

"Come back and talk, I'll have the butler pick you up," Abigail said.

"Okay, Mom." Audrey got up without looking at Jonathan and said coldly, "By nine o'clock tomorrow, do as I say."
