Chapter 488 Don't Want to See You

Francis glared at Audrey's belly, his eyes dark and stormy. Audrey's heart was pounding like crazy under his stare.

"Three and a half months?" Francis asked, his face going back to its usual cold look.

Audrey's ears were ringing, and her mind went totally blank for a few seconds. Right then, she wanted to strangle Abigail. They had agreed to keep quiet, but she just had to spill the beans.

While Audrey was scrambling for a plan, Francis turned to Abigail and said, "Mom, get some rest. I'll leave Glenn here. If you need anything, let him handle it."

Logically, as her son, Francis should be spending more time with her. But since Abigail insisted on keeping Audrey around, he couldn't stick around. Plus, there were plenty of servants, and Francis had secretly arranged for people to guard the Getty Mansion.

Harper said goodbye politely, "Abigail, take care."

Abigail rolled her eyes, clearly not wanting to deal with her.

Harper didn't care. She had shown enough respect. Whether Abigail liked her or not, she didn't give a damn. They were never going to be close again anyway.

Francis held Harper's hand, his tone unusually gentle as he said, "Let's go."

The warmth from Francis's palm spread to her, and his thumb gently rubbed, as if to comfort her. Harper's eyes lit up, and she gave Francis a knowing smile to show she was okay. Francis also smiled faintly, his stern face becoming lively and handsome.

This scene made Audrey's blood boil, and she clenched her fists, almost dying of jealousy. She squealed, "Francis, how can you just leave like this, Mom is..."

Her eyes reddened as she didn't expect that even Abigail's fall couldn't keep Francis.

Francis questioned, "What do you think it is, driving me out?"

Audrey was stunned and said, "I..."

"I don't want to see YOU," Francis said coldly.

Audrey's mind felt like it was struck by lightning, going blank for a moment. Francis's voice was flat, without any emotion. Precisely because of this, it sounded more humiliating. It meant Francis didn't care at all whether Audrey would be hurt by his words.

Audrey's eyes reddened, and tears fell as she whimpered, "Francis, I'm at least the mother of your child. Do you have to say such things to provoke me?"

"This is considered provocation?" Francis sneered, "Let me tell you, the mother of my child will always be Harper. There will never be and can never be a second woman to take that place in this world!"

Audrey's face turned pale, her body swayed, and she fell onto the bed. Abigail quickly comforted her as she said, "Alright, Francis, off you go. Don't upset Audrey anymore."

Audrey felt bitter hearing this. She had put in so much effort just to get Francis to come back.

Audrey had just announced her pregnancy to the media. Francis may manage to suppress the news, but he couldn't suppress the Hernandez family's media. As long as they could spend a few days together at the Getty Mansion, this matter would be impossible to explain away.

But unexpectedly, Francis brought Harper back with him.

Audrey shed tears, saying bitterly, "Francis, how can you do this? What does this make of me? You're the father of my child..."

Francis lowered his eyes, coldly saying, "You kept delaying the press conference to explain the real situation because you were already pregnant at that time. You waited for this opportunity to announce it and force me to compromise?"

"No, it's not like that, Francis. I was just waiting for the right opportunity," Audrey explained.

Francis shot back, "If I hadn't pushed you, would you have even held that press conference?"

He added, "Since you're so sure I'm the dad, we'll do a paternity test tomorrow."

"No way," Audrey yelled, "You just want to get rid of my baby. You're trying to trick me. I won't do it."

Her eyes welled up as she insisted, "I've already done it. This is your child."

Francis raised an eyebrow, cold as ice, "Audrey, do you really think I'd believe anything you say?"

Audrey suddenly lost it. Her eyes turned red as she lunged at Harper, screeching, "It's all your fault. Weren't you supposed to be dead? Why'd you come back to mess everything up?"

Francis had already pulled Harper behind him. Glenn, standing nearby, grabbed Audrey's wrist hard, showing no mercy.

Audrey screamed like a lunatic, "Francis, I'm carrying a boy, a Getty family boy. You'd rather recognize a bastard than your own son, huh?"

At this point, nothing scared her anymore. Francis had been brutal to her family. Audrey had turned off her phone to avoid hearing about the company's troubles. It probably wouldn't take a week before the Hernandez Group had to file for bankruptcy.

Yesterday, Audrey was still dreaming about marrying Francis. Today, she fell from heaven into the abyss.

Francis didn't want to waste another word on Audrey. He suspected she was either hysterical or just plain crazy, always fantasizing about things that didn't exist. He ditched the idea of keeping Audrey around to gather evidence. She was too dangerous to have near Abigail.

He ordered, "Glenn, take her back to the Hernandez family. Tell them to keep a good watch on her. If she goes nuts again, don't blame us for sending her to jail."

Audrey didn't expect Francis to be so ruthless. She suddenly laughed maniacally, "Fine, fine, Francis, you want to treat me like this for that bitch and that bastard, huh?"

Her eyes glinted with venom, and her words were even more chilling.

Harper stepped forward, curling her lips coldly, "Audrey, you've been pregnant for three and a half months, and at that time, I hadn't divorced Francis yet. I told you that, but you still rushed to be the other woman. Who's shameless now?"

Audrey felt a pang of guilt. She hadn't said anything before because of this damn problem. This child was indeed conceived when Harper told Audrey they hadn't divorced yet. But Audrey had no choice; she only had that one chance.

Harper's eyes locked onto Audrey, fiercer than ever as she snapped, "And my child is not a bastard. She has a father."

Even if the father's identity couldn't be revealed now, Harper wouldn't let anyone call her daughter, Agnes, a bastard.

When Audrey was about to say something, Francis ordered coldly, "What are you still standing there for?"

Glenn said to Audrey, "Ms. Hernandez, please."

Audrey stepped back. She screamed, "No!"

If she was sent back to the Hernandez family now, she knew she would be the laughingstock of the whole city. She couldn't go back, absolutely not.

"Mom," Audrey called out, tightly holding Abigail's arm, her body trembling with fear.

Abigail patted Audrey's back, and said reassuringly, "Alright, don't be afraid. I'm here. No one dares to touch you!"

"Mom!" Francis spoke sternly.

Francis didn't know what was wrong with Abigail. He had already secretly replaced that medicine, so why was she still siding with Audrey?

"Get out," Abigail suddenly shouted, "Get out. All of you are bullying Audrey. Take your people and get out."
