Chapter 334 What Fiancée?

Victor had been in the army and knew how to fight.

He just thought Isla was Harper's assistant, so he let his guard down.

Victor's eyes flickered, and he quickly caught the dagger, tilting his neck to dodge it.

Isla's eyes widened, realizing Victor was well-trained. She lunged at him, more cautious now.

They wrestled, with Isla aiming to kill, while Victor held back, thinking she worked for Harper. This put him at a disadvantage a few times.

After a few rounds, he was frustrated. He wanted to fight back but couldn't go all out.

Panting, Victor said, "Stop! I'll take you to see her!"

He knew what Francis wanted with Harper and didn't want Isla to worry and tell Jasper, so he agreed to take her to Harper.

In the front car, the driver raised the partition.

Harper was pressed against the car seat, her face showing anger.

She thought about Audrey's condescending tone on the phone earlier.

Harper couldn't even be polite and wanted to lash out at Francis.

Too angry to speak, she reached for the car door.

Francis noticed and leaned over, trapping her with his arms.

"Is it really that bad?" Francis asked, feeling a lump in his throat. Why did she smile with Vincent but want to jump out of the car with him?

Harper glared at him, "Mr. Getty, what do you mean by this?"

"I want to talk to you," Francis said.

"Are you crazy? Who talks with violence?" Harper snapped.

"Would you listen otherwise?" Francis remembered how she ran from him like he was a ghost.

Harper wouldn't listen to his nonsense.

"Francis, let me out now, or else..." Harper said angrily.

"Why did you go to the amusement park with Vincent? We agreed to go together." Francis's voice dropped, sounding hurt.

"When did I agree to go with you?" Harper had indirectly refused him last time, saying 'that depends'.

But this morning, she had thought about inviting him for Agnes' sake. Remembering the conversation with Audrey on the phone, her face turned cold.

"Even so, you can't go with him!" Francis's eyes darkened with jealousy.

He was jealous Vincent could hold Agnes and walk beside her.

Luckily, Vincent hadn't made any further moves. Francis judged they weren't lovers yet.

But their closeness was unacceptable! Francis couldn't tolerate any man near her.

Harper felt like she was going crazy. Francis was driving her mad.

"What does who I'm with have to do with you?" Harper questioned. "Mr. Getty, there's nothing between us."

Harper's distancing words had been said so many times that they no longer hurt Francis; he felt numb.

"Anyway, I forbid you from dating Vincent," Francis said, leaning back. "Or I'll make sure Vincent's out of Northfield."

Harper lost it and bit his arm until she tasted blood.

Francis stayed silent, his face cold, as if the arm wasn't his.

Harper wiped her mouth and snapped, "If you touch Vincent, I won't let you off."

Francis's lips moved, and he said coldly, "I'm not joking. You better listen, or I don't know what I'll do."

He didn't want to push Harper, but today's incident really got to him. At the park, he felt like his bones were creaking in pain.

Harper could smile at Vincent, but she saw Francis as an enemy.

Francis couldn't stand it. He felt like he was about to snap, and the devil inside him was almost uncontrollable.

"If I have to be domineering, I will be. If I have to be forceful, I will be. I won't let you go," he said, his voice growing colder. "Harper, don't push me. I'm not joking."

Harper looked at his terrifying expression.

She remembered their conversation about Vincent's influential family in Emerald Isle.

"So what if you're powerful? If you touch Vincent, I'll go to Emerald Isle with him, and you'll never see us again," Harper said coldly.

Francis's face turned ugly.

"I'm not joking either!" Harper added.

This hit Francis's weak spot. Just thinking about that possibility made him lose his composure.

He was so furious he wanted to crush her, but he couldn't.

"I dare you!" Francis scowled.

"Why wouldn't I? Your threats won't work forever. If you say you'll do what you said, so will I," Harper said.

Once Elodie Studios was established and running smoothly, she could leave and switch to online operations.

"Let me out of the car now, or I'll send you to the police station again!" Harper said coldly.

Every time she saw this domineering Francis, all her gentleness drained away. She couldn't stay calm, and his actions made it impossible.

Thinking about the embarrassment Audrey caused today, all because of Francis, Harper was even angrier.

"And explain to your fiancée who's coming onto whom," she added. "Why should I pay for your actions?"

Francis frowned, catching the key point. "What fiancée?"

Harper didn't want to mention the embarrassing conversation with Audrey. She shouldn't have made that call.

Francis saw her silence and stared at her with dark eyes. "Who exactly are you talking about?"
