Chapter 230 Why Did You Lie to Me?
"I told you, when I first hooked up with Harper, I couldn't resist her. We just kept going at it."
Francis sneered, cutting through the air with his words, "You think you can make me jealous?"
Keith kept his cool, smiling, "Mr. Getty, if you want to know if I'm messing with you, check your phone."
Francis pulled out his phone, finding several photos of Harper.
She wasn't naked, but her clothes were a mess, making her look incredibly tempting.
Francis knew that look; he'd seen it many times after they were together.
He hurled his phone against the glass, shattering it into pieces.
He stormed out of the car, fists clenched, and landed a hard punch on Keith's face.
Keith's wheelchair toppled over, and he hit the ground. Francis didn't stop, pounding him relentlessly.
His eyes were bloodshot, his mind lost in rage, "You bastard! How dare you take her photos!"
His butler, shocked, rushed to the car to call Harper over.
Harper got out and saw Francis beating the helpless Keith.
She had never seen him so crazed, like a demon unleashed.
"Francis! Have you lost your mind?"
Harper tried to pull Francis away, but she couldn't come near him as he was in such a frenzy.
Keith, unable to move, just lay there, taking the hits.
Harper's hands shook as she dialed, her voice trembling, "Security? There's a fight on Century Avenue..."
Suddenly, her phone flew out of her hand.
Francis's eyes were colder than ever, a chilling frost in his gaze.
He gritted his teeth, "Do you even know who you're defending?"
Francis's disappointment was palpable, making Harper feel like she couldn't breathe.
Keith, from the ground, said, "Harper, don't be scared of him. I won't let him get away with this."
Harper, struggling to breathe, chose to check on Keith.
She knelt beside him, looking at his bloodied face, "Keith, don't talk. Help is coming."
Keith gripped her hands, "Don't provoke him. I can't protect you right now."
Francis watched them, feeling like the villain in their story.
He looked at Harper and let out a cold laugh, "From now on, you're nothing to me! I don't want to see you again!"
The hatred in his voice made Harper's heart tremble.
She looked up, seeing Francis's cold back.
Her heart clenched.
In the end, he hated her now.
Keith suddenly coughed up blood, snapping her back to reality.
The ambulance arrived, and Keith was rushed to the hospital.
After treatment, he stabilized.
His plans to go abroad for treatment had to be postponed until he was in better shape.
After a rough day, Harper finally had a moment to relax, but she took a few steps and suddenly fainted.
A nurse rushed her to emergency care.
When Harper woke up, a nurse was there and said, "Ma'am, did you know you're pregnant? You need to rest more; you have severe anemia."
Harper was completely stunned.
Pregnant?
Seeing her bewildered look, the nurse asked, "Do you need to inform the father?"
Harper slowly shook her head. "No."
The father of her child had just said he never wanted to see her again.
Outside, Addison, who had come looking for her, overheard the news, her eyes lighting up.
She rushed back to Keith's room, bursting in with excitement. "Keith, guess what I just heard?"
Keith, his face bandaged, showed no emotion. "What?"
Addison was used to his cold demeanor; after all, she was his fake mother.
She obeyed Keith because he paid her well.
She beamed, "I just heard that Harper is pregnant!"
Keith's face changed dramatically, but Addison didn't notice and continued, "Since she's pregnant, you don't need to pretend to be a cripple anymore. Take her away and explain the misdiagnosis so she won't worry about you."
"Get out!" Keith's face darkened, his eyes sinister.
Addison didn't dare make a sound and left in a hurry.
Keith's hands clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white.
He should have been the one with her that day, not letting her get pregnant with that man's child.
Now that she was pregnant, she would care even less about him.
No matter what, he had to make sure this child wouldn't come into the world.
When Harper came out, she wanted to check on Keith but ran into Addison. Just as she was about to call her over, she saw Addison sneaking into the hallway to make a call.
Harper approached and vaguely heard a few words as Addison said, "It was a misdiagnosis by the doctor. His legs are fine, don't worry..."
She was stunned. Was Addison talking about Keith?
With a heavy heart, she returned to Keith's room and looked at him, asking, "Keith, how are you feeling?"
Keith, pale-faced, said, "I'm fine. How about you?"
"I'm fine." Harper stood up, saying, "Keith, I'll get you a glass of water."
Then she got up.
Suddenly, she screamed and fell to the ground, her body stiff.
"Harper!" Keith was terrified and called out loudly.
She lay on the ground, motionless, her body stiff as if electrocuted.
Keith suddenly sat up and pressed the call button by the bed.
As the bell rang, Harper suddenly sat up.
She stared at Keith's immobile leg and asked, "Keith, why did you lie to me?"
