Chapter 620 It Would Be Great If You Always Stayed This Obedient
Robert wasn't in the mood to chat with Rene; they both had their own agendas.
The Scott family was within his grasp, but honestly, it wasn't worth the hassle. It'd just be a waste of time and resources.
"Mr. Scott," Robert said, "you probably don't know this, but the woman your son loves had a serious illness. Her body's pretty much done for; she can't have kids."
Rene had no clue about this. He just thought Molly looked good, and even though she was a bit older than Kyle, it was still fine.
As long as a woman could have kids, age didn't matter.
Molly wasn't even thirty yet; she didn't look like someone who couldn't have children. Robert's words made Rene think twice.
Robert went on, "You know your son. He's super loyal. He'd never have kids with another woman and betray the one he loves."
Rene was taken aback. Kyle was indeed stubborn and wouldn't change.
Otherwise, Rene wouldn't have confronted Robert so harshly earlier; he just couldn't think of another way.
But if Molly really couldn't have kids, Rene would have to rethink things.
There was still a way he could use it.
Rene's old eyes were as sharp as an eagle's as he looked at Robert and said, "Mr. Perot, I can't do this alone. I need your help to bring Ms. Koch back. What do you think?"
Robert knew Rene had made up his mind. He stood up, relieved, and said, "Alright, Mr. Scott, there's no need for us to be enemies. Working together will benefit us both in the long run."
"Of course." Rene went back to his ingratiating manner.
But deep down, Robert had already decided not to work with the Scott family in the future.
Rene was too cunning.
After leaving, Robert was thinking about whether to kidnap Molly or force her to come back. Molly was now full of thorns and had bad intentions towards him.
As he was thinking, his phone rang.
"Mr. Perot, Taylor has a fever. It seems pretty serious; he's passed out," the housekeeper said anxiously.
Robert thought of the frail Taylor, wondering why he was so delicate.
A common cold and fever could knock him out.
The housekeeper said urgently, "Isadora, who takes care of him, has been crying and begging me to take them to the hospital. What should I do?"
The housekeeper didn't dare make decisions on her own. She was just responsible for Taylor's daily care and meals, with bodyguards outside to prevent Taylor from running around.
If Isadora hadn't knelt down, the housekeeper wouldn't have made this call.
Without thinking, Robert said, "Call the family doctor to come, wait!"
He suddenly interrupted, "Give the phone to Isadora and let her make one call. Keep an eye on the time."
"Okay, Mr. Perot." The housekeeper didn't understand why Robert suddenly changed his mind but could only comply.
She ran upstairs, handed the phone to Isadora, and said, "Mr. Perot said you can make a call."
Isadora didn't understand and said excitedly, "Why hasn't Mr. Perot sent someone to take us to the hospital? Taylor is so sick."
The housekeeper saw Taylor's flushed face and felt bad, but she couldn't help him.
"This is Mr. Perot's order. I don't understand anything. Do you want to make the call or not?" the housekeeper asked.
"Yes, I want to call," Isadora said, gritting her teeth.
She knew Robert was forcing her to call Molly. She had always told Taylor to be good and not cause any trouble here, not to worry Molly.
Unexpectedly, Taylor took her words to heart, enduring his discomfort without telling her until he fainted from the high fever.
Isadora was terrified. Regardless of Robert's intentions, she had to call Molly.
The call connected quickly.
Hearing Molly's voice, Isadora burst into tears and said, "Ms. Koch, Taylor..."
Molly stood up in a panic. "What's wrong with Taylor?"
"Taylor has a high fever and is unconscious. Mr. Perot hasn't sent anyone to take us to the hospital," Isadora spoke intermittently, her sobs rising and falling.
Molly's heart tightened.
After hanging up, Kyle noticed Molly's worried expression and asked, "Is something wrong with Taylor?"
Molly nodded. "Taylor has a fever."
Kyle immediately prepared to leave with her, saying, "I'll go with you to check on him."
"No!" Molly stopped him, saying, "You stay here and continue your treatment. I'll go alone."
She was worried that if Kyle went, Robert would be provoked into doing something, delaying Taylor's treatment.
Molly, full of concerns, said, "Kyle, don't worry. I'm not afraid of Robert anymore. I'll fight him to the end."
She comforted him, saying, "Your most important task is to get well. Only then can we hire a lawyer and get Taylor back."
Sensing Molly's anxiety, Kyle knew his presence would only escalate the situation, so he said, "Then you go quickly and take care of Taylor. I'll wait here for you."
"Yes."
After leaving, Molly got into the car Kyle had arranged and headed straight for the villa.
When she arrived, the people at the door seemed to know her and let her in without much hindrance.
As she was about to go upstairs, she saw Robert standing at the staircase, as if waiting for her.
Anger surged within her, and she couldn't help but slap Robert hard. "Robert, why are you so heartless? How could you treat Taylor like this!"
Unable to contain her anger, she raised her hand again, but Robert grabbed it and sneered. "You finally came back. Not sweet-talking with Kyle anymore?"
Robert was being unreasonable. He was the one who wouldn't let her see Taylor, yet he turned it around on her.
Molly was furious but more worried about Taylor and didn't want to argue with him. "Let go, Robert. I need to take Taylor to the hospital!"
Robert didn't make it difficult for her. He let go of her hand, allowing her to go upstairs.
Molly opened the door to see Taylor lying in bed and Isadora watching over him.
"Isadora, Taylor..." Seeing the frail Taylor, Molly choked up as soon as she spoke.
Isadora turned to see Molly, immediately grasping her hand and saying, "Ms. Koch, don't worry. Taylor's fever is already going down. The doctor just gave him an antipyretic injection."
Molly then noticed the cooling patches on Taylor's forehead and underarms. His sleeping expression wasn't as pained.
"What happened?" she asked.
She thought to herself, 'Isn't Robert against Taylor getting medical treatment?'
Over the years, whenever she heard Taylor was sick, Molly couldn't eat or sleep well.
Although she and Taylor had been apart often and she had once kept her distance due to unresolved issues.
But deep down, Molly had always been worried about Taylor, fearing she wouldn't have enough time to watch him grow up.
"It was the doctor Mr. Perot brought," Isadora said.
Isadora also thought Robert wouldn't allow it, but after she hung up, Robert had the doctor come to reduce Taylor's fever.
Over the years, Isadora had often accompanied Taylor to see doctors, so she could tell this doctor was quite skilled.
He quickly noticed Taylor had a heart problem, gave him an antipyretic injection, and provided cooling patches for them to use.
After leaving, the doctor said something to Robert.
When Robert came back in, he looked quite serious, glanced at Taylor, and then left again.
After hearing Isadora's explanation, Molly understood that Robert was just using Taylor's illness to force her to come back.
As she had expected, he would even use his own child.
That was why Molly had always hidden Taylor, to prevent him from becoming a tool for blackmail.
Molly felt a deep hatred but could only stay by Taylor's side, watching for any changes.
By evening, Taylor woke up for a short while.
Seeing Molly, Taylor reached out his small hand, looking a bit aggrieved, and said in a hoarse voice, "Mommy, hug."
Molly was stunned.
Taylor would act spoiled with Kyle but rarely with her. He always behaved like a little adult around her, probably because he was confused by his illness.
Molly still leaned in and hugged Taylor. His small, soft body clung to her, making her heart melt.
It was this dependence and the closeness between mother and child that made Molly willing to die a thousand times for Taylor.
Taylor had been well-taught by Kyle. When Kyle wasn't around, he seemed to take on his role, warming her heart.
Seeing that, Isadora was also happy. Taylor had a complex, thinking Molly didn't like him, so he had always been reluctant to get close to her.
However, Molly was warm-hearted but appeared cold. Although she was very worried about Taylor, she would become distant when they met, as if restraining herself.
What Isadora didn't know was that Molly didn't want Taylor to rely on her too much. That way, when she eventually left, Taylor wouldn't be too heartbroken.
Molly's life was already nearing its end.
But Taylor's life was still long, and she didn't want to be a source of pain for him.
Isadora fed Taylor a little food, and the doctor advised them to keep a close watch at night, as fevers could recur, and it was likely he would have another fever during the night.
Hearing this, Molly stayed by the bed without leaving.
Taylor was different from other children. For other kids, a fever was a process of building immunity, but for Taylor, with his congenital heart problem, every fever was extremely dangerous.
Isadora and the housekeeper arranged by Robert took turns caring for Taylor. Isadora, who had taken the first half of the night, was already very tired, so Molly told her to go to sleep.
Molly herself stayed by Taylor's bed, covering herself with a blanket and watching over him.
The housekeeper arranged by Robert did a good job, being very diligent, but Taylor didn't really accept her since she was strange to him.
Children were more troublesome when they were sick, and besides Isadora, Taylor only wanted Molly.
Sometimes, when he was very upset, he wouldn't even want Molly, only Isadora.
During the night, Taylor's temperature rose again, and Molly kept changing the towels and coaxing him to drink water.
After a whole night of this, Taylor's fever finally subsided as dawn approached.
Molly let out a long sigh of relief, her body exhausted. She leaned back in the chair to rest and fell asleep.
When Isadora came to take over, she saw Molly sleeping uncomfortably in the chair and wanted to wake her up to rest in her bed.
Isadora called her name, but Molly didn't respond.
Her health was already poor, and after such exhaustion, she slept very deeply.
Isadora reached out to shake Molly awake, but a strong, slender hand reached out first.
Robert easily lifted Molly, bypassing Isadora.
Isadora was surprised and said, "Mr. Perot!"
Her words were cut off by Robert's sharp gaze.
In a low, warning voice, Robert said, "Your responsibility is to take care of Taylor."
If Taylor hadn't cried inexplicably at night, he wouldn't have kept Isadora.
When they first brought Taylor back, Isadora was brought along. The moment Robert appeared, she recognized him as Taylor's father.
They looked so alike, almost identical, even in their speech and actions.
Taylor had always been emotionally reserved and didn't talk much, likely inherited from Robert.
Isadora knew she couldn't stop him. Molly had told her before that Robert was a very controlling and manipulative person.
Molly had warned Isadora that if she ever encountered Robert, she should never confront him head-on.
If Robert insisted on taking Taylor, she should let him. He wouldn't harm Taylor, but he might harm others.
Fortunately, Isadora had been smart at the time, showing a bunch of medicines and saying that only she knew how to administer them properly for Taylor's health.
That was why Robert had brought her along.
Now, in the villa, Isadora had learned a bit about Robert from the people around.
He was very strict, but as long as you didn't anger him, cross the line, or break the rules, he generally wouldn't make things difficult.
With Taylor's fever, Isadora didn't dare confront Robert. She obediently stepped aside and reminded him, "Mr. Perot, Ms. Koch has been up all night. She can't be disturbed..."
Her voice trailed off under Robert's stern gaze, and she didn't dare say more.
In a cold voice, Robert said, "Mind your own business. I'll only say this once."
Isadora watched as Robert carried Molly away. As he reached the doorframe, she saw him lift his hand to prevent Molly's head from hitting it.
Isadora could only hope that Robert would treat Molly well.
Robert carried Molly to his room, kicked the door open, and gently placed her on the large bed.
Instantly, his arms felt empty.
He found himself somewhat longing for the feeling of Molly lying obediently in his arms.
Molly lay on her side, deeply asleep, her hair scattered across her face, covering her small, delicate features.
Only her lips, red and alluring, were visible.
Molly was naturally beautiful, even her lips were a vivid red, making her look exquisite and pretty.
Robert bent down slightly, resisting the urge, and gently tucked her hair behind her ear.
He watched her for a while, thinking how nice it would be if she could always be this obedient like now.
It wasn't until the sound of the door closing that Molly opened her eyes.
