Chapter 458 I've Liked You for a Whole Ten Years

Harper's ears were burning red from his nibbling, and she pouted, "Who told you to take care of me, huh?"

She didn't even realize her voice was all coy and charming.

Francis's Adam's apple bobbed, and his lips pressed against hers again as he rasped, "You mad at me for not taking good care of you?"

Harper felt helpless; Francis was a master at twisting things around. As they talked, his right hand had already slipped inside her pajamas. She was startled, her heart racing. They had just done the deed, and now he wanted another round. Francis had just woken up, and even though it didn't take much effort, it wasn't good for his body to stay tense.

Harper's cheeks were flushed, and her ears felt hot, looking super enticing. Francis's dark eyes flared up, and his tense arms became even more provocative.

Harper's mind felt muddled, her moist red lips slightly parted, letting out soft breaths. "No, I can't." Harper blushed and pleaded with him, her voice soft and tender like it had been warmed by water.

Francis's eyes grew deeper and darker as he said, "Is that all your sharp tongue can do?"

At this moment, she wisely chose not to argue with him. Francis's dominance in bed was unquestionable; otherwise, he would teach her a good lesson.

Her eyes were tinged with red, and her voice was soft as she said, "Yes."

Seeing her exhausted face, Francis thought about how she had helped him and even cleaned him up, realizing she was indeed tired out. He endured his pent-up desire, kissed her forehead, and said with a slight smile, "I'll find you a good yoga instructor tomorrow."

"What?" Harper didn't get how the topic had shifted.

Francis affectionately ruffled her hair, his voice slightly hoarse as he rasped, "You need more exercise to strengthen up your body."

Harper's face turned beet red as she said, "Stop talking!"

But Francis seemed oblivious to her embarrassment, his lips close to her ear as he lazily said, "I heard that practicing yoga can greatly improve flexibility, and there are many positions to learn."

Harper couldn't take it anymore and slapped him lightly, then covered her ears and shouted, "I don't want to hear it."

Francis chuckled hoarsely, "Then don't complain about the pain next time."

Listening to Francis's blunt words, Harper realized covering her ears was useless; she needed to cover his mouth.

"Stop talking!" As she spoke, her soft palm covered Francis's mouth.

Francis's body shook with laughter, accidentally pulling at his injury, causing him to wince in pain. Harper's sharp ears caught his gasp, and she turned over and asked in a panic, "What's wrong? Does it hurt? Shall I call a doctor?"

Seeing Harper so worried about his injury, Francis just wanted to hold her tight. "No, don't worry." He frowned, pressing her head into the crook of his arm while telling a white lie.

Harper couldn't see his face, but hearing his usual tone, she slowly relaxed. She leaned softly against Francis's arm, feeling too comfortable to move. This simple companionship felt very comforting.

Francis didn't make any provocative moves but gently played with her hair. He said in a deep and magnetic voice, "It wasn't all because of Grandpa back then."

Harper was momentarily stunned before she got it. Was he responding to Keith's earlier taunt?

Francis's voice was low and gentle as he said, "Actually, I saw you before you joined the Getty Group."

Harper was taken aback.

Francis added, "During Northfield University's 70th anniversary celebration, I was an invited guest. During the entertainment segment of the celebration, I left. While waiting for my car by the school road, I saw a little dummy walking towards the artificial lake. I thought she was going to jump into the lake, so I rushed over in a panic, but it turned out I was wrong."

As Francis spoke, his eyelashes lowered, and his face was full of gentle smiles. "I saw her holding a small butterfly net, trying to rescue a stray cat that had fallen into the lake. In the freezing winter, she went into the icy lake. After bringing the cat out, it had stopped breathing. She performed CPR on the cat for twenty minutes, and then took off her down jacket to wrap the cat and warm it. When the cat was revived, she beamed."

Francis looked at her with deep affection in his eyes and said, "I've never seen a girl with such a beautiful smile."

Harper was stunned and asked, "So it was you who gave me the coat that day?"

She remembered clearly how cold it was that day. Her pants were wet, her down jacket had been taken off for the cat, and she was shivering in the cold wind. Suddenly, a man in a suit stopped her, handed her a coat, and left without giving her a chance to refuse.

"Yeah, I had my driver deliver it," Francis said with a smile, "Luckily, I had another chance to meet you."

Harper's eyes widened as she said, "Then, that accident..."

"Did you think it was that easy to get into my bed?" Francis tapped her nose, a smile tugging at his lips as he added, "It was because it was you that I allowed it."

If it hadn't been her, any other girl would have been thrown out by the bodyguards!

Harper's expression was beyond shock. So, she wasn't just a random choice for him? Their so-called accident wasn't so accidental. Because it was her, he indulged her and gave her a title.

From beginning to end, Francis had been a responsible man. Even when he wanted to repay Chloe, he offered generous terms to ensure that Harper would have a secure life. He never treated her as a mere plaything.

Harper's heart raced as she didn't know how to describe the feeling in her heart. She was moved, though. Francis suddenly struck her as a man of responsibility and integrity. His serious explanation reassured her.

Harper's heart felt sweet as if it had been coated with honey. It turned out they had never missed each other. That accident turned out to be a mutual choice.

She made up her mind to tell him, "Francis, I have something to tell you too."

Francis ruffled her hair and said gently, "I'm listening."

Harper looked up at him seriously and said, "I've liked you for years."

Francis asked, "For years?"

Harper replied promptly, "Yeah, for ten whole years."
