Chapter 415 You Are Not Allowed to Meet Kyle Anymore
Harper gave a quick nod.
Molly glanced around, making sure no one was eavesdropping, then leaned in close and said, "I've got a package of meds sent to your studio, addressed to you. In three days, head to the alley next to house number 120 in Willowbrook Falls, around those three red brick houses, and hand it over to an old dude for me."
Harper was baffled. What kind of meds needed all this cloak-and-dagger stuff? Plus, she remembered Molly's family was long gone.
Molly's relatives were all jerks. They took everything and bailed before Harrison jumped off the building. She hadn't heard of any old man in Molly's family.
Molly added, "Harper, keep this on the down-low, not even Francis can know."
Francis and Robert were tight. If Francis found out, Taylor's hideout would be blown.
Even though Harper didn't get it, Molly's serious face told her this was major.
She nodded and whispered, "You can count on me."
Molly grabbed Harper's hand, tears streaming, and choked out, "Harper, thank you. Don't freak out by anything you see. I'll explain later."
"Alright, no need to thank me," Harper said, trying to calm her down.
"When you go, watch your back. I'm worried about Robert..."
Harper nodded. "Got it."
"At the latest, in four days, you gotta get it to that old man. It's a matter of life and death."
Molly was putting all her faith in Harper.
With Francis backing Harper, even if she got caught, Robert couldn't touch her as long as Harper kept quiet.
But if Molly trusted the task to others, they might not be so lucky if caught red-handed. Robert was a loose cannon, he'd do anything.
Their chat was cut short when the butler came looking for Molly, saying, "Ms. Koch, it's time for Mr. Perot to take his meds."
Molly's face turned cold. "Okay."
Harper felt uneasy and patted Molly's hand. "Molly, I'll get Francis to help you out ASAP."
Molly shook her head. "Harper, don't bother. He won't let me go."
Harper was at a loss for words but finally said, "How can he keep you locked up? Even if Francis doesn't help, I can get Jasper to find you a lawyer and sue him."
"Harper, it's not like that. I stabbed him. It's only fair I take care of him." Molly didn't want to tell Harper how obsessed Robert was.
Whatever Robert, that nutjob, wanted, no one could change his mind.
The truth would just make Harper worry more.
Seeing Molly was taking care of him out of guilt, Harper had no choice but to nod and say, "Alright then, if anything happens, you gotta tell me, okay?"
Molly went back to the room. As she opened the door, her eyes fell on Robert, his face pale and drawn, still hunched over his computer. She hadn't expected to see him this dedicated.
She remembered from past investigations that Robert didn't give a damn about the company for the first three years she was gone. If it weren't for the company's solid system and Zack's loyal management, the Perot Group would've tanked.
Now, the Perot Group had dropped out of the top ten in Northfield, but it was still a big deal.
Seeing her come in, Robert put away his computer and said flatly, "It's time."
He meant for her to feed him. Even though his tone was nice, Molly felt a chill.
Since he woke up, this was the second time she fed him. The first time was the same; he sounded nice and didn't ask her anything.
Molly didn't understand what he wanted.
She picked up a bowl of herbal soup, specially made by the family doc and said to be good for his recovery, and started feeding him.
Robert took it one spoonful at a time, like he was savoring honey. This herb soup was super bitter. It was best to chug it down to avoid the nasty taste, but Robert insisted on Molly's help.
After he finished, Molly took a tissue and wiped his mouth.
Robert, looking weaker than usual, spoke softly, "Thanks."
This was the first time they had such a calm interaction.
Molly thought for a moment and said, "Robert, I didn't take leave from my cousin, and there are some orders I handled personally. I need to make a business call, okay?"
Robert handed her his phone and said, "Use this."
"I need to use my phone," Molly said, trying to keep her cool.
Robert adjusted the bed's height, giving her a half-smile. "Who exactly do you need to call with your phone?"
"I just need to handle some orders." Before Molly could finish, Robert burst out laughing. "From now on, you're not allowed to meet with Kyle, nor contact him, or I won't let him off."
Molly shot back coldly, "Robert, why should I listen to you?"
Now, Molly thought it was a good thing Kyle returned to the Scott family; at least Robert would have to think twice before messing with him.
"Do you think just because Kyle joined the Scott family, I can't deal with him?" Robert seemed to read her mind.
He suddenly grabbed Molly's chin and pulled hard. "Molly, you underestimate me."
Molly didn't flinch and sneered, "Robert, all you can do is threaten me? No proper way left for you, huh? How pathetic."
Robert sneered back, "As long as it works on you, that's all that matters."
He didn't care about her insult. From turning the Perot family's dire situation around to its current grand state, he relied on his ruthless methods.
Just as he had absolute faith in reclaiming the Perot family, he had it in keeping Molly.
The woman Robert had set his sights on, no one else could touch.
"There's nothing between me and Kyle. Not everyone is as dirty as you are," Molly said.
When Molly said this, Robert felt a sense of relief.
Molly might hate him, but she wouldn't lie, nor did she care enough to lie to him.
He smiled again and softened his tone. "As long as you stay by my side, I won't let you get hurt again. And I have good news for you."
"Good news?" Molly suddenly laughed and said sarcastically, "Robert, do you know what good news is for me? You paying for forcing my dad to his death would be the best news."
Robert was no longer swayed by such words and said blandly, "It really is good news, but I can't tell you now."
Molly thought Robert was probably crazy and had turned into a jabbering idiot.
The good news Robert had for her, how ridiculous it sounded!
"Hopefully, we can exchange good news then," Molly said.
Robert became interested and raised an eyebrow. "You have good news for me too?"
"Yeah, looking forward to it?" Molly asked with a smile.
Robert knew Molly's good news would certainly be related to him and would be something that could hurt him.
He smiled slightly, "Of course."
Then he ordered, "Help me wipe my body."
Molly's face turned cold. "There are caregivers for that."
"I want you to do it," Robert said.
"Robert, you're dreaming." Molly thought he was ludicrous and shameless.
"Do it once, and I'll give you ten minutes with your phone," Robert offered, using her phone as a bait.
Molly said, "Fine. Deal."
After all, he couldn't do anything now, and she could take the opportunity to teach him a lesson.
Molly fetched water and wrung out a towel, while Robert lay still.
She frowned. "Unbutton your shirt."
"You're asking a patient to unbutton his own shirt?" Robert asked.
Molly retorted, "Your hands seem to be working just fine."
"But they are too weak," Robert said seriously.
Molly hadn't forgotten how hard he had just squeezed her chin.
With a blank expression, she unbuttoned his shirt, not gently at all.
Even when touching his wound, she didn't lessen her force.
Robert had neglected his workouts for a while but had recently picked them up again. His physique was still impressive, with well-defined abs and a strong masculine scent.
He watched her press hard on his wound, a mix of pain and something else flickering in his eyes. He lowered his eyelashes, his voice rough and laced with a smirk, "You might as well bite me; it might hurt more."
Molly's hands trembled. Robert sounded odd. With a wary glance down between his legs, realization struck her like a slap in the face. How could he be aroused by her pressing on his wound?
Instantly, her expression turned to extreme disgust. So much so that it dimmed the glint in Robert's eyes.
He suddenly grabbed Molly's hand, tightening his grip.
Molly's mind went blank for a few seconds. The next moment, as if her bottom line had been crossed, she struggled to get to her feet, but Robert pressed her shoulder down and pinned her to his chest.
This severely injured man easily controlled her like it was nothing.
Robert's voice was low and hoarse as he said, "Molly, take care of my need, or we can go all the way. Your call."
