Chapter 562 You Really Think He Wants Just Anyone?

Sleeping with someone as amazing as him? That was a jackpot. If she played her cards right, maybe she could even marry him. Cecilia figured she had nothing to lose, so she tossed her worries aside.

The male nurse who took leave only asked for a week off, so each nurse on this floor got just one shot at treating Francis. Cecilia wasn't about to waste this golden chance.

Blushing, she whispered, "Sir, I'm going to start your treatment now. Please bear with me."

Francis didn't even bother to turn around, just furrowed his brows at her tone.

To Cecilia, his cold demeanor made him even more irresistible. He looked like someone important, so his aloofness seemed fitting.

She took her sweet time, gently patting the back of his hand. When Francis shot her a cold glance, she blushed and said in a sugary voice, "I'm sorry, did I hurt you? I'll be more gentle."

Francis, clearly annoyed, said in a deep voice, "Hurry up."

"Okay, sir." Cecilia patted a couple more times and finally finished. Francis's brows stayed furrowed, and he quickly pulled his hand back.

As he did, Cecilia grabbed his hand and softly said, "Sir, wouldn't it be easier if I fixed it on the stand for you?"

She made sure to brush his hand against her chest. Cecilia was confident in her looks and figured Francis would be tempted.

But before his hand reached her breasts, Francis yanked it away and said, "No need, you can leave now."

Cecilia wasn't about to let this chance slip and boldly said, "Sir, I know a lot of things. How about I keep you company tonight?"

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Francis, soft and inviting.

Francis's brows furrowed even more, feeling disgusted by her. Cecilia didn't notice his mood change and pulled down her collar a bit, teasing, "Sir, want to give it a try?"

Francis's expression stayed the same, and he slightly curled his lips, "What's your name?"

At first, Cecilia was confused, but then she got excited. If he was asking her name, he must be interested.

Blushing, she said, "My name is Cecilia Thorne."

Without another glance at her, Francis reached for the phone by the bed and dialed the first button. A voice on the other end said, "Hello, this is the VIP inpatient department office. I'm the manager, Brice Darden. How can I help you?"

Cecilia's face lit up. Was Francis going to promote her? But she was more interested in marrying into a wealthy family. Still, if Francis was interested, he could do whatever he wanted. She could ask for more later.

While Cecilia was lost in her daydreams, Francis's cold voice cut through. "Cecilia from the inpatient department made sexual advances towards me during work hours. Fire her immediately."

Cecilia was floored. Did Francis really just tell Brice to fire her?

"Sir, you must be mistaken! I..." Cecilia stammered, covering the phone. "Why would you want to fire me?"

"Get out," Francis said coldly, not a hint of pity in his voice.

Now she knew she hadn't misheard, and panic set in. She dropped to her knees, pleading, "Sir, I was wrong. Please don't fire me."

This hospital was the biggest in Northfield. If she got canned, no other hospital would take her. Plus, with this job, she could snag a decent boyfriend. If she got fired, she'd have nothing.

"Sir, please have mercy. I'll do anything you want, just don't fire me," she begged, still thinking Francis just wanted to sleep with her for a night of free and was using this as leverage.

She thought, 'Well, he's good-looking, so it's not a total loss.'

Francis felt nothing but disgust. Without even glancing at her, he said, "If you don't leave now, you can forget about staying in Northfield!"

Seeing how ruthless he was, Cecilia realized he really wasn't interested. Her mind raced, and just as Brice was about to step into the room, she tore open her nurse's uniform and cried out, "Sir, how could you do this? Just because I refused, you tore my clothes and framed me."

There were no cameras in the room, so Cecilia felt bold enough to lie.

Brice, who had just walked in, was stunned by the scene. He thought, 'What's going on? Did Francis try to force himself on Cecilia and then accuse her?'

The VIP ward guests were all rich and powerful, and many things were beyond Brice's control. He needed to consult his superiors.

Coincidentally, the hospital's head was a friend of Wesley's. Wesley often stayed at the hospital to monitor Francis's condition. Upon hearing the news, Wesley rushed to the ward.

At this moment, Cecilia was still on the ground, her clothes in disarray, not even bothering to cover herself with the clothes Brice had given her, hoping to gain sympathy.

When Wesley walked in and saw the scene, he teased Francis, "Quite the ladies' man, aren't you?"

Francis ignored him, casually flipping through a magazine, not paying any attention to the crying Cecilia.

Seeing her sobbing non-stop, Brice looked to Wesley for help. Regardless of who was right or wrong, this was a scandal and would negatively impact the hospital.

This kind of thing had happened before. Some nurses, seeing wealthy patients, would try to seduce them. Or some men, after being hospitalized for a long time, would look for some fun. It wasn't uncommon.

If things got out of hand, the nurses usually preferred to settle quietly if the money was right. After all, in a public place like a hospital, outright coercion was hard to imagine. If there had been a real commotion, the men would have been worried about their reputation and wouldn't have dared to force anything. So, in most cases, it was more about compromise and hidden motives on both sides.

Wesley looked at Cecilia on the ground, smiling warmly, "You said he tore your clothes?"

Having come this far, Cecilia had to keep up the act. Covering her face, she tearfully said, "Yes, it was this gentleman who tore them."

Wesley glanced at Francis, who remained expressionless, not speaking or defending himself, leisurely flipping through his newspaper.

Wesley, looking curious, helped Cecilia up and gently said, "How exactly did he tear them? Can you tell me in detail?"

With his handsome features and eyes that always seemed to twinkle with warmth, Wesley had a way of easily winning over women, especially when he talked in such a gentle manner. Seeing Wesley being kind to her, Cecilia thought he liked her. She figured that even if she couldn't get Francis, getting Wesley wouldn't be bad either.

Cecilia said sweetly, "I came in to treat him, and when I was about to leave, he suddenly called me back and said..."

She pretended to be too embarrassed to continue. Wesley raised an eyebrow, encouraging her, "It's okay, go ahead and say it. If you don't tell us clearly, we can't help you."

Gathering her courage, Cecilia said, "He said my breasts looked nice and asked if he could touch them. Naturally, I refused, so he grabbed me and pulled me into his arms. He touched me inappropriately. I struggled hard to escape his advances, and he tore my clothes."

Covering her face and crying, she continued, "Then he got angry and said he would have Brice fire me. Clearly, I'm the one who was wronged. Brice, you must stand up for me, or I'll have to tell others about my grievance."

Cecilia was banking on the hospital not wanting to make a big deal out of it, and Francis, seeming wealthy and influential, likely offered money to avoid a scandal. She thought that since Wesley seemed to like her, she would just ask for some money and let the matter go.

Brice, not daring to speak, knew he couldn't afford to offend any of the patients here. He humbly suggested, "I think this is just a misunderstanding. But since her clothes are torn, sir, how about compensating her for the clothes?"

Seeing Francis remain silent, Brice assumed he agreed with his suggestion. Brice immediately ordered Cecilia, "As for you, Cecilia, don't go around spreading rumors. It's just a misunderstanding. You know talking about this could damage your reputation, right?"

Cecilia naturally couldn't object. Offending wealthy people wouldn't end well for her either. She knew when to stop. Keeping her job and getting some money was a good deal, so she cooperated. "I understand, Brice. This gentleman might be sick and mistook me for someone else."

Brice appreciated her understanding and smiled, "That's right. Such a small matter shouldn't trouble the patient. Let's settle it this way."

Cecilia obediently nodded, "Okay."

"So, you two just solved the problem with a few words?" Wesley, leaning against the white wall with his arms crossed, said leisurely, "But I'm not quite satisfied yet."

Knowing Wesley was a friend of the hospital director, Brice immediately put on a fawning smile and said, "If you have any thoughts, feel free to share. We can discuss and find a solution."

Wesley pointed at Cecilia and said, "Do you also think this can be negotiated?"

Mentioned by Wesley, Cecilia lowered her head, looking aggrieved but compliant. "I know the hospital's rules. VIP patients are important people. I've already said this gentleman mistook me for someone else. Let's leave it at that."

Cecilia wanted to leave a good impression on Wesley, so she didn't press the issue further. Wesley, however, laughed out loud. "You really think he wants just anyone?"

Cecilia was confused, not understanding Wesley's words.

At this moment, Francis, lying on the bed, spoke, "Are you done yet?"

This accusation was directed at Wesley, and though Francis's voice was low, it was clear he was angry.

Wesley smiled, "Alright, I'll stop."

He stood up straight, took out his phone, and made a call. Soon, the other side picked up. "Wesley, what's up?"

Wesley had it on speaker, and both Brice and Cecilia recognized the director's voice, their faces changing immediately.

Wesley said, "The nurses at your hospital are quite the actors."

The director, attending a seminar, said, "What do you mean, Wesley? I'm busy here. Just tell me what's going on."

"The VIP inpatient department's Brice and Cecilia conspired to frame a patient. How will you handle it?"

The director decisively said, "Fire them, issue a hospital-wide warning, and hold them accountable for their actions."

"Got it. I'll relay your instructions to the person in charge today," Wesley said.

"Of course, go ahead. I'm busy. We'll talk later."

After the call ended, Brice and Cecilia's faces turned sour.

Brice, feeling wronged, said, "Mr. Redstone, I've been speaking on your behalf and covering up the facts. How did I become a conspirator?"

"So, you're all the same!" Cecilia pointed at Wesley, angrily saying, "Don't think I fear you wealthy and powerful people just because I have no background. If it comes to it, I'll make a scene. Let's see which side the public will support."

After saying this, Cecilia stood up straight, took out her phone, and started recording, capturing her disheveled appearance. She then threatened, "I have nothing to lose. If you dare to fire me unjustly, I'll make sure everyone knows about this!"
