Chapter 231 You Really Opened My Eyes!
Keith's face shifted, and he stammered, "Harper, let me explain..."
"Did the doctor mess up?" Harper cut him off.
Keith wanted to argue, but seeing her clear eyes, he lowered his head and muttered, "No. I lied."
Harper's eyes welled up, and she asked, "Why did you do this?"
Keith sighed and, with a faint smile, said, "Harper, don't you get it? I love you. I want you to stay with me."
Harper's body shook with anger. "In lies?"
Keith smiled, "If it means keeping you, I'll do anything."
"Keith? Are you really Keith?"
Keith's face fell, and Harper said, "I don't know you."
She grabbed her bag, eyes moist, and said, "I'm sorry, even if you saved me, I can't accept deceit. I'll help with the medical bills, but we shouldn't see each other again."
Keith stared at her and blurted, "Harper, I never hurt you."
Harper reached the door and said without looking back, "I can't accept deceit."
Then, she left.
Behind her, Keith's eyes darkened. "Harper, you can't escape me."
When Harper stepped outside, it was already dusk.
She remembered Francis asking if she knew what kind of man Keith was, with disappointment and anger in his eyes, and she felt foolish.
She had never truly seen who Keith was before.
Maybe Keith never hurt her, but looking back, many of his actions seemed aimed at creating conflicts between her and Francis.
Her heart heavy with frustration, Harper didn't want to go back alone, so she went to find Molly.
Meanwhile, Robert woke up from a two-day coma, haunted by countless nightmares.
In his dreams, Molly was a corpse; no matter how much he called or shouted, she didn't respond.
Robert was completely panicked, and even when he woke up, he was calling out for Molly.
Quinn, who was by the bedside, heard this, her eyes turning venomous, but she quickly hid it.
Quinn held Robert's hand, crying, "Robert, you're finally awake."
Robert saw who was in front of him, gave a perfunctory hug, and then turned to get out of bed.
Quinn wouldn't let go, holding his arm. "Robert, where are you going?"
"I have something to deal with." Robert, preoccupied with Molly's illness, answered absentmindedly.
Quinn gritted her teeth in hatred and said softly, "Robert, something happened while you were in a coma."
"What happened?"
"A man came to visit Molly, and he said he was the father of the child in Molly's belly."
"What did you say!" Robert's brows furrowed sharply, his handsome face turning frighteningly dark.
Quinn shivered and said, "Molly is pregnant! And she paid back fifty million dollars while you were in a coma. I don't know where she got so much money. She doesn't admit that the child is that man's, but who knows if it's someone else's?"
Quinn watched Robert's face, seeing her words had the desired effect, and dropped another bombshell.
"Robert, her illness is also fake. She doesn't have stomach cancer, just a stomach ulcer."
"How do you know?" Robert's face seemed unchanged, but his cold eyes spread a boundless bloodthirstiness that would make any man shudder.
"Come in," Quinn called out, and a young nurse entered.
"This is the nurse who took care of Molly's parents. You can ask her."
Robert stared at her and asked coldly, "Think before you speak."
In an instant, the nurse felt like Robert was gripping her soul, ready to crush it if she said something wrong.
Terrified, she answered truthfully, "Ms. Koch told her parents it was a stomach ulcer. I'm not lying. You can ask them yourself."
Quinn dismissed the nurse and called in a doctor, the same one Robert had seen before.
"Doctor, tell Robert about Ms. Koch," Quinn said.
The doctor, trembling, handed Robert the diagnosis report. "Ms. Koch has a stomach ulcer. She paid me to tell her family it was stomach cancer. I'm sorry, Mr. Perot. I was in debt and took her money. Please don't report me. I'd lose my job."
Robert's face grew colder, but then he suddenly laughed, a chilling sound devoid of warmth.
"Job?" Robert's laugh was more terrifying than hellfire.
The doctor, legs weak, stammered, "I know I was wrong, Mr. Perot. Please forgive me. I was greedy and believed Ms. Koch. It's her fault, all her fault."
Robert's iron-like hand gripped the doctor's neck tightly. "You call yourself a doctor!"
He threw the doctor to the ground harshly.
The doctor lay there, body aching as if it had fallen apart.
Robert coldly ordered Zack, "Investigate if what he said is true. If it is, smash his hands until they don't work."
A man like him shouldn't be called a doctor.
Zack nodded and dragged the doctor out.
Quinn patted Robert's back, trying to comfort him. "I didn't expect Molly to be so cunning, using this trick to deceive you and buy time to raise money. This way, her father would be free from jail, and their family wouldn't be in debt. What a perfect plan!"
Robert grabbed his coat and said coldly, "Leave me alone."
Quinn asked knowingly, "Robert, where are you going?"
"Go back and wait for me," Robert said, not explaining further.
Quinn watched Robert leave, feeling extremely pleased. 'Molly, enjoy the big gift I prepared for you!' she thought.
Molly had just taken a shower at home when she heard the doorbell.
Thinking it was a delivery, she opened the door without a second thought, only to find an unwelcome guest.
"Molly, long time no see." The man had a lewd smile; it was Leonardo, who hadn't shown up for a long time.
Molly asked warily, "How did you know I live here?"
"I asked around." Leonardo handed her a bouquet. "I missed you so much."
Molly's eyes turned cold. "Please leave. We are not that close."
She tried to close the door.
But Leonardo's face changed instantly. He kicked the door open and threw the flowers at her, cursing, "Molly, don't be ungrateful. I'm here to have sex with you!"
He lunged at Molly, trying to tear her clothes off.
Molly struggled desperately, but she couldn't resist Leonardo's hands. Soon, she was barely covered.
Furious, Molly bit Leonardo's neck artery hard, using all her strength to tear his flesh.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and Leonardo was kicked away.
The sudden change left Molly at a loss. She looked at Robert with misty eyes.
Robert stepped in, his gaze as cold as a ghost from hell.
"Molly, you really opened my eyes."
