Chapter 244: Intimacy
Brad leaned on my shoulder, nibbling my ear, his hot breath making half my body go all jelly-like. My brain was screaming, "Say yes! Say yes!!"
But I just couldn't.
Ever since I grew up, Helen drilled into me the whole self-respect thing for girls—don't just jump into bed with anyone, don't lose yourself in love. So yeah, I was pretty old-school about sex. That's why, even though Brad and I had been sharing a room for ages, we stuck to just kissing and hugging.
Our families had been neighbors for over twenty years, and Brad totally got our family's values. So, no matter how tough it was for him, he never pushed me, 'cause he couldn't stand seeing me upset.
"Let's do it, okay? Baby, it's killing me to hold back. I wanna make love to you, I wanna make love to you, baby."
Brad was trying so hard to keep it together, always asking for my okay.
That was just him, never wanting to make me feel even a bit uncomfortable, always putting me first. Even though he was about to burst, he still wanted my go-ahead.
Brad, you were so good, and so silly.
I loved this Brad so much.
I was wrapped up in Brad's sweet affection, wanting to just give in.
I had already decided he was my forever guy, so why not give in?
But for this kind of thing, I had no clue how to start.
The room was all tender and sweet, the heat like a freaking oven.
Gathering all my strength, I managed to let out a soft hum.
I swear, I just wanted to say that Brad wasn't officially my boyfriend yet, so could we wait a bit longer. But his big hand was too much, and before I could say anything, I let out a hum.
It was a beautiful and crazy misunderstanding.
Brad's body heat cranked up again, and even through our clothes, it was enough to melt me.
He looked ecstatic, quickly yanking off his T-shirt, showing off his chiseled muscles glistening with sweat, his eyes burning with passion.
The vibe was way too steamy.
Brad was staring at me intensely, his scorching gaze making me blush.
I didn't expect gentle Brad to have such a wild side when it came to this.
Then, the phone rang.
I snapped back to reality and instinctively checked myself. Luckily, aside from being a bit messy, nothing else had changed.
Reaching for the phone, Brad pinned me down, whispering in my ear, "Ignore it, no matter who it is."
Outside, faint footsteps were pacing back and forth, and the phone kept ringing.
Just a door away, there were three people chilling outside. The thin door couldn't block all the sounds from inside.
I calmed myself, got my composure back, and gently pushed Brad off me, "Brad, there are people outside."
He stared at me with bloodshot eyes for a while. Realizing it was a no-go, he lay on me disappointedly, his head nestled in my neck, making me itch.
I stretched out my arm and barely managed to grab the phone. The caller ID showed it was Adam.
Of all times to call, he had to pick this moment, which would definitely make Brad jealous.
"Hello, Adam, what's up?"
Brad immediately got pissed when he heard Adam's name.
Adam's voice came through, "Nothing much, you said you'd be back today, so I wanted to ask if you're coming to Crystal House later, and if we should order dinner. There's a new place on West Street, the food is really good."
The phone's speaker was loud, and Brad, being right next to me, heard everything Adam said. His eyes went cold, and he gave my earlobe a light pinch as a little punishment. A weird sensation shot up my spine, making me gasp out loud. I quickly covered my mouth and shot him a playful glare.
Brad just smirked and planted a big ol' kiss on my cheek.
"What's wrong, Jane? You okay? Need help?" Adam asked, sounding all worried after hearing my gasp.
Brad's face got all serious while I laughed.
Help with this? Yeah, right. Brad would lose it.
"Oh, nothing, just got nipped by a puppy. Uh, I won't be coming over today, got stuff to handle at home. You sort out dinner yourself."
After hanging up, Brad's eyes weren't as red anymore. He was still tense but not as hot. His hands, though, kept moving, setting my desires on fire.
"Brad, let's go out, it's almost dinner time."
Brad flipped over, lying on the bed, and pulled me onto his chest. He planted soft kisses on my lips, cheeks, and neck, each one brief but oh-so-enticing.
Turns out, it's not just the fiery passion that makes your heart race, but also the gentle, enduring love that makes you wanna give in.
"You're such a tormenting little darling," Brad gritted his teeth, and I covered my mouth, laughing happily. It was rare to see Brad embarrassed, and it was worth celebrating.
As if on cue, just as Brad finished tidying himself up and put on a new shirt, Yancy's voice echoed from the living room, calling us out for dinner.
My cheeks, which had just cooled down, suddenly heated up again.
We had made such a ruckus just now, the people in the living room just a door away must have heard everything.
Yancy hearing it was one thing, as he was quite familiar with the situation between me and Brad. The problem was that Jenny and her two sidekicks were also outside, just a door away. Making such a scene inside was no different from performing in public!
I felt silently distressed. How could I face people after being heard like that?
"Intimate interactions between boyfriends and girlfriends are normal, nothing to be ashamed of. That guy might be even more intense than me." Brad, thick-skinned, didn't care at all.
Easy for him to say, but it was still embarrassing.
And Jenny was his admirer. Wasn't this too much of a blow to her heart?
This made me suspect that Brad did it on purpose. He wanted me, sure, but he also used this as a reason to let the people outside hear clearly, to dissuade Jenny from doing anything pointless.
Brad, you were so bad.
I opened the door and came out. Jenny was already awake. Hearing the door open, she looked over sadly. Her gaze lingered on my lips, a flash of pain quickly passing through her eyes, before finally settling on Brad's newly changed shirt. Only then did she give a faint smile.
I regretted it. I should have let Brad leave a mark on my neck when he kissed me just now, to piss her off.
"Finally willing to come out?" Yancy teased me, his eyes scanning above Brad's and my neck, as if looking for evidence.
I uncomfortably covered my lips. "Stop talking nonsense. Let's eat. I'm starving."
I had to cover my lips. Just from the tingling pain and Jenny's look, I knew my lips were definitely swollen from the kissing.
Brad kept teasing me. "Seems like quite a workout. Someone who usually eats dinner at eight is actually hungry. Impressive, impressive."
What a thing to say.
I really wanted to kick him.
I was too frustrated to speak, while Brad laughed like a satisfied beast.
So infuriating.
