Chapter 448 A Perfect Match

Brad was in a foul mood, so I brought him to my room to help him chill out. Driving while pissed off is never a good idea.

I spent two nights in the village, but Brad only stayed for one. The place was so basic that we could only manage quick wipe-downs morning and night. The hotel room was like a sauna with the heater cranked up, making us feel sticky and gross in no time.

Brad's always been a clean freak and likes to feel fresh. I nudged him into the bathroom, telling him to take a long soak. A hot bath would help him relax and calm down. No need to rush; he deserved some downtime.

The hotel bathroom and toilet were separated by a frosted glass wall. While he was soaking, I was outside washing his clothes. Once I was done, I tossed them in the dryer, which took less than half an hour.

Washing his underwear felt a bit weird. We weren't married, and handling his intimate stuff made me uneasy.

But then I reminded myself that we had already shared the most intimate moments, basically making us a couple. Plus, it wasn’t my first time washing his clothes. I had to get over the awkwardness, so I pushed through and finished the job.

Noticing Brad still hadn’t come out, I grabbed a disinfectant wipe to clean his suit and outer pants.

By the time I finished everything, nearly fifty minutes had passed. The only sound was the water in the bathroom, and I couldn't hear Brad at all.

Hadn't he finished soaking yet? Or was he so comfy that he fell asleep?

I leaned in to press my ear against the glass door to listen closely. Just as my ear touched the glass, the door creaked open, and I almost stumbled forward.

The bathroom floor was covered in water and soap suds. If I fell, I’d be soaked. My clothes were already wet in spots from washing, but it was better than falling into dirty water.

Brad saw me and, holding something in both hands, couldn't help. Instead, he extended one of his long legs for me to grab onto.

In that moment, I didn't think and grabbed his freshly washed, still dripping leg.

When I realized I had avoided a fall by grabbing his leg, my face turned red with embarrassment.

Seeing I was steady, Brad put down what he was holding, squatted in front of me, and lifted my chin with one finger. His gaze was intense, his lips even redder from the bath. "Is this why you were so eager for me to take a bath, baby?" he asked.

Brad's move was so seductive that I was momentarily stunned, forgetting to respond.

"No," I quickly denied, realizing what he meant.

Brad said, "It's okay if you had that thought. I'd be more than willing to cooperate. Last night's place was too restrictive, and I couldn't perform well. I have the energy to make up for it now."

Hearing this, I subtly moved my waist, still feeling a bit sore."The clothes are washed. Do you want to wear them now?" I stammered, desperate to break the awkward tension and change the subject.

I shook the dried men's underwear I was holding as I spoke.

Brad's eyes darkened as he looked at my hand.

"If I put on the underwear, I'll just have to take it off later. Why not skip it? What do you think, baby?" He moved closer, our faces almost touching. Any slight movement and our lips would meet.

His body was warm and slightly damp. As my own body temperature rose, I felt my legs start to weaken beneath me.

That night, Brad was incredibly gentle. He didn't go all out but held me tenderly, kissing me softly and caressing me. His scent and voice were intoxicating, making it impossible to refuse and leaving me wanting more.

He spent most of the night lovingly caressing me, probably because he cared about my health and wanted me to rest more.

As the night deepened, I grew sleepy, gradually falling asleep in his arms.

In the fleeting moment before I lost consciousness, I realized that Brad was comforting me, telling me not to worry too much.

He understood all my concerns, even if he didn't voice them. He was using his own way to reassure me.

That night, I slept soundly, just like I did every day with Brad. The moonlight was beautiful, and the wind was soft and soothing.

When morning came, I woke up and turned to find Brad's embrace, only to discover the spot beside me was empty. The blanket was neatly folded, as if I had been the only one there last night.

There was an emergency at the construction site, and Brad was called back. Before he left, he sent me a long message reassuring me not to worry. He said he could handle everything, and no matter what happened, I shouldn’t be concerned or try to manage anything on my own. Everything had already been prepared.

He mentioned that he would be very busy and might not have time to see me, but he urged me not to be sad. He reassured me that even if we were far apart, his heart and soul would always belong to me.

Brad left my world once again. This time, no one knew how long he would be gone or what changes might occur.

At the end of his message, Brad reminded me to live well and ensure the project was done well, or he would be disappointed.

If the project didn't go well, not only would he be disappointed, but I would be too.

So, I would definitely do it well!

Elliot and I had reserved an afternoon flight back to Regalia. Professor Evans had wrapped up his work here and would be joining us on the flight. Meanwhile, the Louis couple needed to attend a meeting and would be returning in a few days.

When the plane touched down, the sky above Regalia was somewhat overcast, with a few snowflakes drifting down. Despite this, the temperature had warmed up, causing the snow to melt before it hit the ground, resulting in a damp atmosphere and a wet surface underfoot.

We returned to Regalia in early February. During that time, I had gone through a mix of pain, sorrow, and moments of sweetness.

As soon as I exited the security check, I saw Mia excitedly waving at me from outside the barrier. Yancy stood beside her, hands in his pockets, watching her every move with a doting expression.

The two of them standing together were truly a perfect match.
