Chapter 388 So Annoying

So, pretty much everyone knew Brad was leaving this time.

No matter how gutsy Jenny was, she wouldn't dare to kill Brad. Besides, as long as Brad was determined to fiercely guard his chastity, even if Jenny had a strong desire, she cannot force him to do anything against his will.

I said, "I need to know what's up with Brad right now. Even if Jenny's the client, she can't just restrict someone's freedom. Brad's working with her, but he's not her lackey. She has no right to mess with his freedom."

"So, what's your plan?" Professor Evans squinted at me.

I glanced out the window. The weather was already iffy when I left, and now it was even gloomier, with tiny ice particles starting to fall.

Snowy days were rare in Regalia's winter; this kind of sleet usually showed up in December.

Christmas was almost here again. The memories of spending Christmas with Brad were still fresh in my mind. But now Brad wasn't by my side, and I missed him so much.

"Professor Evans, I've wrapped up all my projects. I'll deliver them this afternoon. Could you help me submit them for review? If everything's good, I'd like to take some time off to find Brad. I won't be at ease until I see him safe and sound with my own eyes." I laid out my plan to Professor Evans.

Daniel's eyes were glued to me. When he heard I was going to find Brad myself, his expression shifted, showing a mix of being moved, envy, and regret. But I didn't care about that; I wasn't interested in analyzing it. All I wanted was Brad's safety.

Right now, all I could think about was Brad, and it would be the same in the future.

Professor Evans said, "I do need to send someone to go, but I want to wait three more days. Later, I'll officially talk to Jenny about Brad's situation in my personal capacity. If there's still no definite news after three days, I'll arrange for someone to go."

"Really?" I asked Professor Evans, surprised. If I only had to wait three more days, I could go find Brad; that's awesome.

I said, "Thank you, Professor Evans."

Daniel chimed in, "Professor Evans, I don't think it's a good idea for Jane to go alone."

I rolled my eyes at Daniel. I knew what he was getting at. He just wanted to tell Professor Evans that it was not safe for a girl to go to such a far place alone to face unknown difficulties and dangers. He didn't want me to go.

As long as it was for Brad, I could do it, and I wasn't scared.

Professor Evans raised his hand to stop Daniel. "Let me finish. Whether to go or not will be decided in three days. It's too early to say anything now. Jane, go back and organize the paintings and hand them over to me. The more urgent the moment, the less we can panic. Do what needs to be done. Daniel, you need to calm your parents down. Don't let them panic, and don't take any special actions; it will only backfire. We'll meet here again at 5 PM in three days to discuss the next steps."

Even though my meeting with Professor Evans didn't immediately solve the problem, we had a plan. It was just a matter of time before things got sorted out. So, I wasn't disappointed.

Just three more days. Brad told me to trust him, so I'd wait. If there was still no word after that, I'd pack my bags and go find him myself. No matter what it took, I'd bring Brad back safe.

I left Professor Evans' office, heading to Crystal House to organize the paintings. I walked quickly towards the old campus.

Daniel tagged along, keeping a bit of distance and staying quiet.

I thought, 'Daniel is so annoying, always following me. It's so frustrating.'

Daniel finally spoke up, "You don't need to worry. If someone really needs to go, it'll be me. It's too dangerous for a girl to go alone. Brad's situation is already tricky enough. If something happens to you, I won't be able to handle it."

As much as I hated to admit it, Daniel had a point. I figured Professor Evans felt the same way. But I was too worried and eager to see Brad. No matter how dangerous it was, I had to go. I wouldn't back down.

"I get what you're saying, but when it comes to Brad's safety, I have to go personally. You know me; once I decide on something, I won't change my mind. So, don't try to talk me out of it. I appreciate your concern, but no one can stop me from finding Brad this time." I looked at Daniel with determination.

Daniel's expression said, "I knew it would be like this."

He wanted to say more, but I didn't want to hear it. I made my own decisions and didn't need anyone else's input.

When I got to Crystal House, Adam was there, seemingly waiting for me.

"Need something?" I asked Adam while organizing the paintings.

Adam looked a bit nervous and asked, "Jane, how's Amelia been these past two days?"

"She's doing well. Now that she's away from bad men, she's self-reliant and has a bright future," I replied.

Adam said, "Ryan might get engaged to that woman. It's what Ryan's family wants, but the exact time hasn't been decided yet."

"Well, it's best for bad men and bad women to get married, so they don't harm good people," I said angrily.

I really wanted to punch Ryan myself.

Seeing me busy, Adam reached out to help. I initially wanted to refuse. I'd worked hard on these paintings for a long time, and each one was my treasure. It would be terrible if they got damaged.

Fortunately, Adam was also a professional artist, and he didn't do much worse than I did, so I let him help.

Adam asked, "Does Amelia want to be a police officer?"

"It's not about whether she wants to or not, but whether she's suitable. Amelia has excellent academic qualifications, incredible combat skills, and a strong sense of justice. It would be a waste if she didn't become a police officer," I said.

Adam paused for a moment, deep in thought.

Meanwhile, I hadn't had enough of talking and couldn't stop once I started.
