Chapter 439 Infuriating
"It's super awkward running into you like this. You should really go to the hospital. If you're hurt, I'd be in big trouble. Come on, say something, did you hit your head?"
I turned my head and gave a little smile.
Elliot's words made Jenny's face twist with displeasure.
Since yesterday, Elliot had been sticking to me like glue, always opposing Jenny.
But no matter how annoyed Jenny got, she couldn't argue back or even defend herself. Elliot's apology was so sincere and perfect. She genuinely suggested taking Jenny to the hospital, fully aware of her mistake.
If Jenny said anything, people would think she was being heartless and mean.
Elliot was carrying a big bag and wearing plain work clothes, looking like the underdog.
Most people would frown upon bullying the weak, and for Jenny, it just wasn't worth it.
Even though Jenny got a little scratched up, she wasn't seriously hurt. Elliot's attitude was so good, she had no intention of ignoring or running away. Even if Jenny wanted to make a fuss, she had no grounds to do so.
Besides, Jenny's target today was me, and she didn't want to waste energy on Elliot's bump. The fewer enemies, the better. Expanding the enemy list now was a bad move.
So, Jenny had to accept being bumped by Elliot.
"Alright, alright, just go, you're getting on my nerves." Jenny waved her hand angrily to shoo her away.
Micah, as if just noticing Jenny had been bumped, anxiously circled the wheelchair several times, stuttering in fear, "Are you okay? Where are you hurt? Should we go to the hospital? Say something, don't scare me."
Well, Elliot was still in the hall, and someone had already come to take over annoying Jenny.
Jenny's face looked very unpleasant.
I couldn't hold it in anymore, squatting on the ground holding my stomach, laughing. To avoid disturbing others, I covered my mouth with my hand.
"Shut up, say one more word and I'll fire you." Jenny, frustrated twice, vented all her anger on Micah.
Micah wasn't angry at being scolded, immediately stopped circling, and stood worriedly to the side, almost crying.
I didn't realize Micah was also a talented person, suitable for being an actor.
"So, do you still want to talk? If not, I have other important things to do."
Jenny's face was terrifyingly angry. Her perfect makeup and expensive clothes were all made a joke by that face.
"Talk," Jenny said through gritted teeth, her tone icy, "Come with me."
I shook my head uncooperatively, "You have to tell me where, or I won't go."
Jenny gritted her teeth, "I have a place nearby, let's go there."
"No way, that's your turf. It's not safe for a girl like me. If I get drugged or something, that would be too dangerous. I'm not going.""Then let's go to the café up ahead."
I shook my head again, "That place doesn't open until ten in the morning, there's no one there now."
"My car, let's go to my car," Jenny growled, her eyes blazing with anger.
"Nope, not the car either. It's a confined space, easier for something to happen. No, I'm not going."
Jenny probably had never met someone as difficult as me in her life. I didn't argue or make a scene, leaving her with no outlet for her anger.
However, Jenny also had a temper, "Then you say, where can you go? You tell me."
I pointed to the ground, "Here." Then pointed behind me, "There works too."
Jenny was probably going crazy, barely suppressing her anger, "To the restaurant."
Alright, the restaurant was crowded, with a lot of people around. Jenny wouldn't find it easy to harm me.
As soon as Micah heard the place was decided, he started pushing the wheelchair.
Unexpectedly, Jenny didn't cooperate. She suddenly stood up, her high heels clacking on the floor, and angrily strode to catch up with me. She might have wanted to overtake me and regain her dominant position.
Unfortunately, her legs hadn't fully recovered and couldn't withstand her exertion. Naturally, they didn't add much to her momentum. Instead, after a few steps, they gave out, and she stumbled forward.
Honestly, I really wanted to be a bystander and watch her fall. She always did such disgusting things, she deserved it.
But then I thought about how her legs became like this because of Brad, and I couldn't bear it.
No matter how bad or hateful Jenny was, she had saved Brad's life. I couldn't just watch her fall and do nothing.
Jenny's sudden fall startled me, and without thinking, I turned back and reached out to catch her.
When she was in the rehab hospital at Regalia, I often visited her. Several times, I caught her doing rehab exercises in the recovery room. She was drenched in sweat, her hair soaked, and her teeth biting her lips until they bled. She suffered a lot.
She had finally managed to walk, and I didn't want a single fall to undo her progress and make all her hard work meaningless.
But I was too far away, no matter how hard I ran, it was too late.
Fortunately, Micah caught her arm before her face hit the ground, pulling her back. Though it looked a bit awkward, at least she wasn't hurt.
Always proud, Jenny first got her hair scratched, then got mad at me, and almost got disfigured. Even with the best temper, she would go crazy. By the time she sat in the breakfast area, her face was very unpleasant.
But she still insisted on talking to me, so let's talk.
"If you have something to say, just spit it out. I'm a bit busy here," I said, slightly impatient.
Wasn't it just about annoying people? Who couldn't do that?
