Chapter 370 Perfect

I rolled my eyes. Sure, it was better to be a quiet place. It gave her more time to plot how to steal someone else's boyfriend without any interruptions.

Evans chimed in, "You know, the old campus is pretty out of the way. Besides a few die-hard students, it's usually dead quiet. But since Brad moved there for work, students might drop by with questions. So, your boring office life might get a bit more lively."

Jenny stayed silent for a bit before muttering a dry, "Thanks."

Only she knew how much anger and frustration were packed into that one word.

The school had already done so much; pushing further would just make her look selfish and petty.

After hanging up, I gave Professor Evans a thumbs up, admiring his balanced approach.

Professor Evans laughed, called me a troublemaker, and told me to scram so he could get back to work.

The office location was settled quickly. When I checked it out, I had to admit, Professor Evans was sharp.

The old campus had been abandoned for years and was usually empty. Adam's Crystal House was the only thing bringing some life to the place.

Professor Evans had a keen eye, picking an office spot right next to Crystal House, separated by a transparent glass wall. Everything was in plain view.

Whatever happened on that side, Crystal House had a front-row seat. The location was spot on.

Crystal House was for folks like us who loved painting, perfectly matching Professor Evans' point about being passionate. Plus, several students here had taken Brad's classes and often went to him with questions.

In this setup, could Jenny still enjoy her cozy two-person office world? I was thrilled at the thought.

Brad didn't seem surprised by the arrangement, probably because he knew beforehand. Still, when he saw it, he couldn't help but smirk before breaking into a big grin.

He squeezed my hand, clearly in a good mood.

As long as Jenny was frustrated, I was over the moon.

With a tight schedule and heavy tasks, the office decor wasn't fancy but was really serious and professional, showing the school's commitment to the project. Perfect for office work.

When Jenny first came over, Brad personally showed her around, followed by some unfamiliar guys.

Since they took a different route, Jenny didn't notice anything odd and was in high spirits, chatting with Brad. She maneuvered her wheelchair effortlessly, occasionally looking up at Brad with a playful smile, seeking his attention.

When she walked into the office area all excited and saw me sitting at the easel through the glass wall, her smile froze. Her mouth hung open in shock, looking as ridiculous as could be.

In the next few minutes, Jenny's face flushed with anger and embarrassment.

No matter how clever and scheming Jenny was, she couldn't have seen this coming. And she couldn't complain about it either. If she refused, she'd look unreasonable. Plus, she had no grounds to refuse.

She wanted an independent office space for her and Brad to work together.

This room was big and spacious, with no one else around, perfectly meeting her public demands.

No wonder Jenny was pissed. Anyone would be if their crush's girlfriend was watching them every day. She had no room for scheming.

That was Professor Evans' genius.

I had blamed Professor Evans before. Now, thinking about it, it was his generosity that kept him from holding it against me. Otherwise, I'd be too embarrassed to face him.

Thinking about Jenny having to work under my watchful eye for the next two years, with her plans falling apart before they even started, made me feel incredibly cheerful. I couldn't help but look up and give a polite smile to the stunned Jenny.

"Welcome, Jenny," I mouthed.

Jenny instantly turned her face away.

Her clenched right hand trembled slightly, showing her anger and reluctance.

Brad and I exchanged relieved glances from a distance.

They spent two hours getting familiar with the office, with Jenny's face remaining sullen and gloomy like a storm cloud. Brad, on the other hand, was serious and courteous throughout, gentlemanly making introductions, with a refined and distant demeanor.

Professor Evans chose a time to complete the ceremony for the official use of the office.

Although Jenny was unwilling, she had made the request, and the school's actions fully met her requirements. No matter how reluctant she was, she had to go along with it and move in, planning for the future later.

With everything in place, as the clock struck noon, I sat on my usual stool, eating and watching Jenny, who was sitting diagonally across from me, angrily stabbing a cartoon figurine's belly with a pen. She occasionally looked up and glared at me with venomous eyes, scaring me into quickly turning away.

Jenny's plot was thus resolved, and our enmity was officially established.

This time, I had thoroughly pissed off Jenny. What methods she would use to torment me in the future were still uncertain. But future matters could be dealt with in the future; at least for now, I was happy.

The entire afternoon that followed, my painting progressed exceptionally smoothly.

Jenny's face darkened completely when, at five o'clock, Brad opened a small door on his side of the glass wall and walked directly into the glass house to find me.
