Chapter 436 Beating Her Up

But for us, this was a big deal.

Every single thing Brad achieved, from the Northern Institute of the Arts to National Capital University, was all because of his hard work. If Jenny really did something, the media would blow it up. No matter what happened in the end, Brad's reputation would take a hit.

As a painter with a PhD, the youngest master's advisor at National Capital University, and someone who just wanted to focus on his work, Brad couldn't afford even a tiny stain on his reputation. Even if it was a lie or slander, it was still unacceptable.

I started to wonder if I had gone too far today. My harsh words might have pushed Jenny to do something crazy, and Brad would end up paying for it. That wasn't worth it.

I took a screenshot of the message and sent it to Brad, then made a video call. This was serious, and I needed to talk to Brad about how to keep it from spiraling out of control.

I would never forgive myself if Brad got blamed for something because of me.

I was worried he wouldn't pick up, like before, but he answered quickly, and Brad's face popped up on the screen.

"Brad, what are we gonna do? She won't really go through with it, will she?" I asked, feeling anxious.

Brad, looking a bit tired, rubbed his forehead, his eyes cold and frustrated. "She won't dare."

"That would mess things up for you. No, I need to go talk to her now." I panicked and wanted to find Jenny.

"No need to go, and don't worry. She was the one who broke the rules that day, and it was pretty serious. I was just defending my own dignity. She wouldn't be dumb enough to expose her own scandal. Besides, Jenny isn't as innocent as she seems. She's got a lot of skeletons in her closet, and I have proof. If she tries anything, I'll make sure she never becomes part of the Taylor family."

Brad's confidence made me admire him even more.

Brad was really smart, turning the tables on his enemy.

I just wondered if Jenny would regret messing with Brad once she found out he had so much dirt on her.

"What kind of dirty stuff has Jenny done? Brad, tell me, I promise I won't tell anyone. Is she having an affair?" Curiosity got the best of me, especially when it came to Jenny. I really wanted to know more.

Brad immediately said, "What nonsense are you talking about? Go take a shower. Turn off your phone and ignore whatever she says."

Alright then.

"What if she provokes me again? Can I hit her?"

Brad raised an eyebrow, looking confused. "You can hit people?"

Talking about this made me feel pretty proud. In just two months, I not only nailed my basic training but also picked up some self-defense moves from Amelia. I might not be able to take on everyone, but handling Jenny should be a piece of cake.

"I've been practicing martial arts with Amelia. I need someone to spar with," I said, feeling all smug.

"Really? My baby is so talented. Show me a move."

Feeling proud, I demonstrated a move aimed at a man's groin.

When I realized what I had done, I saw Brad's eyes fixed on me, looking a bit displeased.

Jenny doesn't even have male genitalia. Why did I show that move? I got carried away.

"I practiced this to deal with bad guys."

Brad nodded seriously, but I could see a hint of a smile in his eyes. "Practice well, but never use it on me."

"Baby, I miss you so much; it's driving me crazy. No matter what I see during the day, I see your shy smile. It's worse at night, whether in the bathroom, or on the couch, especially the bed. As long as it's related, I want to hold you and make love to you fiercely. Baby, do you miss me?"

I bit my lip hard to keep myself from making a sound.

Did I miss him? Honestly, a little, but not as much as he says. The work during the day was busy and tiring, leaving me no time or energy to think about it. At night before bed, I did think about it. Images of that night always came to mind: the hot bodies, the hoarse growls, the perfect rhythm, the thrilling pleasure.

I needed to change the subject quickly, or I might not sleep tonight.

"By the way, Brad, does this mean that from now on, I don't have to tolerate Jenny when I see her? If Jenny provokes me, I can fight back, right?"

"Try to avoid using force. The law is concerned with causing harm. As long as you don't cause actual harm to Jenny, everything else is fine."

With Brad's words, I felt like I could act without hesitation.

It seemed Jenny had really pushed Brad to the limit this time. Otherwise, Brad wouldn't be so resolute.

After taking a shower, I put on a clean long dress, dried my hair, and sent messages to Elliot, Professor Evans, and the Louis couple, inviting them to join me for a meal.

It turned out the Louis couple were out on business, Professor Evans had already eaten and wanted to rest, so it was just me and Elliot who needed to dine.

I took the elevator down to the first floor and headed to the hotel's restaurant for dinner.

It was a bit late, and there were only a few people in the restaurant. The soft music added a touch of tranquility and mystery.

The dishes were pre-ordered, and they were all served as soon as we sat down.

Elliot preferred light flavors, and I didn't like overly greasy food either.

We had lunch at noon, and now it was almost 8 PM. I had only drunk a bottle of water all afternoon, and we were starving. Seeing the food, we didn't care about our image and started devouring it.

"Elliot, next time we go into the mountains, let's bring some food."
