Chapter 463 Help

I asked, "So, what happened next? How did Brad wake up? Did she save him?"

"Not even close. After she got buried, she just kept crying and screaming like she was about to die, begging us to save her. None of us kids cried, but she was bawling her eyes out. I think Brad woke up because of her crying. Her voice was so loud, it was terrifying." Yosef seemed to remember it all too well, hugging himself and shivering.

Jenny must've really scared him; otherwise, Yosef wouldn't be freaking out like this.

I couldn't help but find it a bit funny. Brad got knocked out by a table and then woke up to the sound of crying. His story was definitely one for the books.

Yosef went on, "Brad took forever to wake up. By then, the mudslide had stopped. Grayson Bishop and Cecilia Thorne were badly hurt. After Brad bandaged them up, he started digging through the mud with his bare hands to save her. I helped too, and my fingers bled. She just kept crying, saying stuff like, 'As long as you're okay, I'm happy. As long as you're not hurt, I'm fine. Don't worry about me.' Brad's eyes were red with worry."

I said, "That doesn't add up. Jenny said she saved Brad. Yosef, what you're saying is different from her story."

Yosef replied, "I remember Brad asking if she had lifted him onto the table to save him. She cried and said, 'I'd do anything for you. I just did what I wanted to do. You don't need to repay me.' Yeah, that's exactly what she said."

Hearing this, I asked, "Brad was saved by you guys. Why didn't you say anything, Yosef?"

Yosef awkwardly scratched his head, his face turning red. "At the time, my head was bleeding, and I felt dizzy. Cecilia kept saying we were going to die there. I was so scared and just kept crying. I didn't think to tell Brad. Later, when I finally wanted to say something, Brad was already gone, and I couldn't find him."

I got it.

There was no life-saving heroics; it was all just Jenny's lies.

Jenny not only wanted to sacrifice others to save herself but also shamelessly claimed Brad's life-saving act, twisting the truth, making up stories, and fooling everyone. Jenny doing such things really showed her true colors.

Beneath Jenny's sweet facade, which fooled everyone, lay an ugly soul. She was like a piece of rotten meat, already stinking.

No wonder the Taylor family hadn't accepted Jenny for over twenty years. They must have seen her true nature long ago. Someone as nasty as her wouldn't fit in anywhere, not even with me.

At that moment, my hatred for Jenny vanished.

Wasting my emotions on someone who didn't even deserve to be called human seemed pointless. She simply wasn't worth my anger.

But poor Brad, tormented by Jenny's fake life-saving story, was already physically and mentally drained, unable to change anything.

I couldn't help but feel mad at myself. In my panic, I never took the time to sit down and talk things over with Brad. If we had stopped to think and analyze the situation, we might have realized something was off and avoided being tormented by Jenny for so long.Yet, I felt a wave of relief. Since Jenny didn't actually help Brad, we could do whatever we wanted without any guilt, and the whole mess could be sorted out easily.

For someone who tried to frame us, why should we show any mercy?

Jenny, just wait. This time, I'm using your own dirty tricks to get my revenge! You've done so many awful things; it's time you faced the consequences.

Cooper saw the look on my face and worriedly asked if I had a fever again, quickly getting Genevieve to check my temperature.

I said, "I'm not sick. I just remembered some unpleasant stuff and got a bit upset."

"Is it about Brad?" Thirteen-year-old Yosef could read faces but not deeply.

Jenny's long rants against Brad and me at two schools had already caused a big stir. With the influence of these prestigious institutions, the issue would definitely spread far and wide.

If we didn't pause and clear things up in time, the future would be uncertain.

Even though Brad told me to wait for him and let him handle it, this was our problem, and I wanted to help fix it.

I wasn't sure how Brad would handle it, but I couldn't just sit back and wait. I had to support him all the way.

What Yosef mentioned would definitely help Brad, and I felt genuinely happy about it.

Plus, this was a shocking secret. Once revealed, it would definitely restore our reputations, and Jenny would have to face serious consequences for her lies.

This wasn't just about the truth of the life-saving story; it was about a person's moral character.

Sure, Jenny had money, power, and status, but we wouldn't be scared or back down.

In this era of law, I believed in fairness and justice.

Jenny's actions fired me up, making me want to clear my name and bring everything to light for everyone to see.

This time, I wouldn't hold back. I would leave no escape route for Jenny.

I wasn't being ruthless; I was just giving her a taste of her own medicine. This was what she deserved.

Didn't Jenny want to become a true member of the Taylor family no matter what? Then I'd make sure she ruined her reputation and never got the chance to join the Taylor family!

There was no place in this world for an immoral artist, and the Taylor family certainly wouldn't accept someone who was despised and scorned by the public—someone who would only bring negativity to the family!

Jenny, I didn't want to be ruthless, but this was the path you chose. Your greed, deceit, and shamelessness brought us to this point.

So, no matter what happened, you had to face the consequences. You brought this on yourself.

"I need your help with something," I said as I stood up and gave a respectful bow.

"What's the matter? Just tell us what you need. If we can help, we will. No need for all this formality—sit down and take your time," Genevieve said, gently guiding me back into my seat.
