Chapter 150 Raymond Has News?

It wasn't that Paige was particularly arrogant, but she indeed had the capability to back it up. Over the past five years, the only thing she lacked was real combat experience. Julian had been groomed from a young age to become the leader of Paige's action team, but Paige, although not trained from childhood in this direction, wasn't without a foundation.

The only things she had to learn from scratch were finance, management, and the various high-society leisure activities. Of course, she excelled in these areas as well. But her best skills were in medicine and physical prowess. These two skills were taught to her by her grandfather from a young age, providing Paige with an excellent foundation.

When Paige claimed she had life-saving skills, it wasn't just empty boasting. Pearl was deeply moved; working for Paige was originally just an arrangement by the elder. However, Paige treated her as a genuine family member.

Paige walked into the hospital room, with Pearl following and standing at the door watching. In truth, Paige was much luckier than people like them; at least she still had family around her. They were the real loners, only able to consider each other as family.

Paige was always so patient in front of her mother. "Mom, are you awake? The weather outside is particularly nice today. Do you want to go out for a walk?" Paige's tone was gentle, like coaxing a child. Grace, lying weakly on the hospital bed, made some sounds. Paige patiently guessed what she was trying to express.

When Grace made those sounds, Paige would ask, "Do you want to go out?" If Grace's tone was calm, Paige knew she wanted to go. If Paige asked something else and Grace's tone was a bit agitated, Paige knew she didn't want to. Paige always respected her wishes.

After helping Grace get dressed, the medical staff moved Grace to a wheelchair, and Paige pushed her out. Paige had previously pushed Raymond's wheelchair, so she was quite familiar with the task. However, pushing Raymond's wheelchair felt much easier compared to pushing Grace's now, which felt more strenuous.

Paige realized the difference between a healthy person and someone in very poor health. Despite this, Paige still pushed Grace outside. She talked to Grace from behind the wheelchair, "Mom, this is where we live now, it's called Sunset Haven Residence. Your room is on the first floor, so it's convenient for medical staff to take you out on nice days like today. My room is on the third floor, and I use the entire floor for resting and working. If you wake up and want to find me, someone will come up to get me. The second floor is where some of the other residents live. You'll get to know them gradually. Now, I'm taking you to the garden; there are many rare flowers there that you'll love."

Paige remembered that the Sackler family mansion had a large garden, and Grace used to personally tend to it. Paige hadn't seen it often, but the few times she visited the Sackler family, she saw her mother working in the garden. It was said that her adoptive parents also tended the Sackler family's garden, so she knew a bit about horticulture.

Her adoptive parents were quite foolish, though, living with Bradley, a renowned doctor, yet not having a medical successor. However, Paige had learned all of Bradley's skills. Later, in prison, she met a pharmacological genius and learned even more, which allowed her to recruit talents like Ryan.

Although it was already winter, several types of flowers were still blooming in the garden, adding a splash of color to the bleak winter. "Ah... rose..." Grace struggled to speak, but Paige understood. Despite the unclear speech, Paige immediately stopped when she heard the word "rose."

She walked to the front of the wheelchair, squatted down, and looked up at Grace. "Mom, it's a rose. You recognize it." Grace's memory was somewhat impaired, but her cognitive abilities were still intact. The doctor had told Paige that Grace might forget some things. However, it seemed her condition was quite good now. She could remember people and recognize the flowers she liked.

"Rose..." Grace smiled awkwardly. Paige was delighted that her mother could recognize and name the flower. Speaking more would help restore her language abilities. "Yes, a rose. Mom, you love roses, don't you?" Grace's effort to say the word was evident, and although she still looked weak, she was clearly happy.

Paige thought it would be beneficial to take her mother out more often, as it would help her recovery. In a few days, when Grace had a bit more strength, Paige could start her on physical therapy to gradually restore her bodily functions.

Paige spent some time with Grace in the garden and then pushed her around the grounds. Paige felt warm from walking, but it was too cold outside for Grace, so she took her back inside. Seeing that Grace wasn't sleepy, Paige took her on a tour of the house, using the elevator to show her the third-floor bedroom and study.

Paige's study was larger than her bedroom, filled with books and documents. Grace, having been in a coma for five years, didn't know what had changed. Seeing Paige's large bedroom and study, Grace was puzzled. Her memory was stuck five years ago when Paige was abandoned in the countryside by the Sackler family, and Grace wasn't even allowed to visit her secretly.

Paige had only seen her mother a few times until she turned eighteen. This feeling was far from pleasant. But now, seeing Paige with a large villa, a spacious bedroom and study, and so many people at her command, Grace couldn't understand how Paige had suddenly become so powerful. Moreover, she hadn't seen Xena or the person she disliked since waking up.

Back in her room, Grace was exhausted and rested with her eyes closed. Paige's phone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and saw a new message from the newly installed app. It was news from the X action team. Was there some movement on Raymond's side?
