Chapter 158 Divorce? How Will You Compensate for My Purity, Madam?

Francesca's gaze immediately turned to Louis. He called Raymond "Uncle" and referred to Paige directly as "Paige."

Francesca was worried. Louis still didn't want to give up. Now that he saw signs of divorce between Paige and Raymond, did he still want to be with Paige in the future?

Thinking of this, Francesca immediately said, "Paige, are you sure? I'm not speaking for anyone, but I've known him for so many years, and he's never been that kind of person. For so many years, no woman has ever come close to him. How could he possibly do something to betray you?"

As she spoke, Francesca turned and glared angrily at Louis. "Louis, you are the junior here. What nonsense are you spouting? Is it your place to discuss the matters of your elders? Apologize to your aunt, quickly."

Francesca was trying her best to remind Louis that Paige was his elder, his aunt. Even if Paige and Raymond really got divorced, Paige would still be a generation above him.

In front of Bradley, Francesca couldn't make her words any clearer, but this was enough to serve as a warning to Louis. Louis wasn't stupid; he understood what his mother meant. However, he didn't follow Francesca's intention. Instead, he continued deliberately, "Uncle brought back a woman from abroad, and she's now staying at Windrain Tower. Last night, Paige saw it with her own eyes. Grandpa, you can't just protect Raymond all the time; you also have to think about Paige. She has no family to support her. If you don't support her, she'll truly be wronged."

Hearing this, Bradley slammed the table in anger. "Where is Raymond? Bring him to me, and bring that woman too. I want to see which shameless person dares to harm the Carnegie family."

Bradley's anger clearly showed he wanted to help Paige, making it hard for her to say anything. Sean, standing behind Bradley, immediately ordered the bodyguards to go to Windrain Tower to fetch Raymond.

Paige wanted to say something, but Bradley quickly comforted her, "Paige, if he really wronged you, I'm here to teach him a lesson. Don't be so impulsive; give him a chance to explain, okay?"

Louis interjected, "Grandpa, he's at Windrain Tower. That's a fact. What else needs explaining?"

Louis was eager for Raymond and Paige to get divorced. Bradley hadn't said anything to Louis until now, but at this moment, he glared at him with a warning in his eyes. Bradley was about to scold Louis when Francesca beat him to it.

"Louis, I told you not to talk nonsense. Your uncle will explain when he shows up. It's not your place to interfere in the matters of your elders. If you keep talking nonsense, get out."

Francesca was afraid Louis would anger Bradley. Even though Bradley no longer managed the company, his words at Hawke Corporation were still considered the highest command.

Francesca couldn't understand what was so good about Paige. She had no prestigious family background and carried the label of an illegitimate child. She was good-looking, but the world wasn't short of beautiful women. And most importantly, she had been to prison. Such a woman wasn't even worthy of Raymond, let alone her son.

Louis, still mindful of Bradley, restrained himself after his mother's stern words. Paige spoke up, "Dad, sister-in-law, you don't need to speak for Raymond. Some things are only clear to those involved. I've already filed for divorce. Once Raymond signs, the process will take a month. Although we didn't sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage, I won't take a penny of his property."

As soon as Paige finished speaking, Raymond's voice came from outside the room. The door had been left open, and Raymond had heard Paige's words as he arrived. He was still in his wheelchair, with Charles pushing him from behind.

"Really? You won't take my property, but what about other things?"

As these words floated in, Raymond was pushed into the room. Paige looked at Raymond, surprised at how quickly he had arrived. Her expression was cold, her gaze sharp, staring directly at Raymond.

"Other things? What else do you have besides property?"

Raymond looked up at Paige. "My virginity!"

Raymond said the words "virginity" with a straight face, leaving everyone stunned. Worried that people might not understand, Raymond immediately added, "Although you won't take my property, you took my virginity. How will you compensate for that?"

Paige was truly taken aback. Was Raymond being unreasonable? A divorcing husband bringing up his virginity—Paige felt like she had heard a ridiculous joke. He was clearly being unreasonable.

Bradley, who had been worried, felt relieved after hearing Raymond's words. Francesca lowered her head, quietly covering her mouth to laugh. Only Louis looked upset.

Seeing Raymond's unreasonable behavior, Paige said directly, "Raymond, didn't I already pay for it?"

Raymond's words had already shocked everyone. Paige's response made it even harder for those present to hold back their laughter. They tried to pretend they hadn't heard, though they didn't fully understand what Paige meant. But the words "pay for it" were suggestive!

The reason behind it was something only Paige and Raymond knew best. Despite their cryptic conversation, Bradley awkwardly intervened, "You two just got married. It's normal to have arguments, but Raymond, you're the man. You need to give in to your wife, understand? And you must not make any fundamental mistakes. Do you understand?"

Raymond replied, "As long as she compensates for my first night, I have no objection to the divorce."

Bradley had just said that the Carnegie family doesn't divorce, making Raymond's words inappropriate. Bradley's voice grew heavier, clearly angry. "Raymond, don't push your luck. From our ancestors to now, who in the Carnegie family has ever divorced? I'm telling you, don't be the first. I won't let you off. And if you're entangled with any women outside, deal with them immediately. If I find out, I'll break your legs."

Raymond patted his legs. "They're already as good as broken."

Bradley's brow furrowed. Raymond was being unreasonable. Raymond didn't intend to stay long. After speaking, he gave Charles a look, and Charles pushed him out. As he left, he said, "I guess seeing me has ruined your appetite. Enjoy your meal. I'm leaving. Paige, remember what I said. Compensate for my first night, and I'll sign the divorce papers anytime."
