Chapter 195 Raymond and Lily's Wedding Invitation

Paige swung by Universe Group to pick up Cecil and then went to the lab to meet Locas.

Locas had connections everywhere, even the DarkNet Exchange, and Cecil was a whiz at gathering global news.

Paige had almost forgotten she had such top-tier resources at her disposal. After laying out her plan to them, they quickly got to work. But even with the best resources, time passed with no news.

Meanwhile, Raymond's wedding plans were nearly wrapped up. He and Lily had decided on a small, intimate ceremony, inviting only a few people. So, only a handful in Northwind knew about it.

Louis was one of the lucky few invited. Being part of the Carnegie family, it made sense for him to get an invite to Raymond's wedding.

Lily personally handed Louis his invitation. Even though Raymond was about to marry Lily, Louis still wasn't thrilled to see her.

Louis had always wanted Raymond and Paige to split up, but seeing Raymond marry Lily just rubbed him the wrong way.

After getting the invite, Louis headed straight to the hospital. He was a bit taken aback to see Amelia with Paige, wondering when they got so close.

Amelia was actually there, keeping Paige company. Noticing Louis's gaze on Amelia, Paige asked, "Need me to step out for a bit?"

Louis replied, "I'm here to see you."

Paige shot back, "Why? My mom's asleep. There's no point in you seeing her."

Louis just handed her the invitation. "Raymond's marrying Lily. You met her at Windrain Tower. I can't say anything to Raymond, so you need to look out for yourself."

Paige took the invite and examined it. "This is pretty fancy."

Amelia came over and, hearing Louis, asked, "Are you sure this invite is legit?"

Paige looked it over. "Seems real to me."

Louis, getting impatient, said, "Is that really the issue? The point is, Raymond's marrying Lily."

Paige replied, "Yeah, I see that. The wedding's this weekend. They must be in a rush. Looks like Raymond really loves Lily."

Louis asked, "You married Raymond without a proper wedding. They don't even have a marriage certificate yet and are already planning a wedding. Are you really okay with this?"

Paige said, "Didn't you always want Raymond and me to split up?"

Louis replied, "Yeah, but even if you and Raymond split, the Carnegie family won't let me marry you. If you really care about Raymond, it's not too late to fight for him now."

Paige looked at Louis, surprised. She'd never really taken him seriously, but now she saw a more mature side of him. Paige smiled and said, "Who said I like Raymond? If Lily wants him, she can have him. You should go handle your own stuff."

Louis didn't expect that reaction. He thought Raymond and Paige were in love. The idea that Raymond took for granted what he couldn't have made Louis uncomfortable. But seeing Paige's indifference, he quickly left.

After Louis left, Amelia came over and said, "Xanthe, I still think you and Raymond make a good match. One have Hawke Corporation, and the other have Universe Group, you'd practically own Northwind."

Paige smiled faintly. "You think we're a good match? Now that you know, the entire Universe Group is mine. Do you think Raymond, sitting in a wheelchair, is worthy of me?"

Amelia laughed. "With Raymond's looks, even if he's in a wheelchair with a chance of recovery, or even if he had both legs amputated, with his status and that face, he's still the object of many women's fantasies."

Paige asked, "Including you?"

Amelia raised her hands and said, "Raymond is definitely not someone I dare to fantasize about. Only you could marry him secretly for so long and then leave unscathed. Have you heard the rumors about him?"

Paige looked at Amelia. "What rumors? About him being in a wheelchair?"

Amelia answered, "The Carnegie family's power today is mainly thanks to Raymond. He's great at business and making money, but he's also known to be ruthless. There are rumors he's behind the car accident that killed Louis's father and Louis's disappearance. Unfortunately, Raymond is disabled; otherwise, Hawke Corporation would be even more powerful."

Paige didn't expect to hear these rumors about Raymond in her downtime. Paige advised, "Don't believe those rumors. When we first met and got married, he was just an ordinary employee in a wheelchair. And I was doing a regular maid's job."

Paige didn't know why, but she ended up talking about her marriage to Raymond.

Amelia's eyes widened, almost leaning in to hear more gossip.

Paige remarked, "I don't have any juicy details for you. Alright, put the invitation away."

Paige didn't want to look at the invitation Louis left behind, so she handed it to Amelia.

Amelia took the invitation and said, "It's been a long time since I've attended a wedding. Xanthe, do you think Pearl and I could go to the wedding this weekend?"
