Chapter 368 Tonight, Let's Only Talk About Love
As Raymond's voice grew deeper and more ambiguous, Paige instinctively felt that Raymond's longing was almost overflowing.
She didn't need him to elaborate; she could already feel it completely.
Raymond held Paige and headed straight upstairs.
After climbing the stairs, Raymond asked, "Paige, have you gained weight recently?"
Paige frowned, "Are you complaining about me?"
Raymond immediately smiled, "Of course not. I mean, we should reward Pearl properly. She took good care of you while I wasn't around."
Paige then smiled, "Of course. Don't think that I can't live without you. From now on, cherish me, got it?"
Raymond nodded firmly, "Yes, ma'am!"
Carrying Paige all the way to their room, Raymond gently kicked open the ajar door and carried her inside.
The lighting in the room was just right, warm and intimate, matching the overall decor. At a glance, Paige loved it.
She let go of Raymond's neck and jumped down from him, startling Raymond, who quickly steadied her.
Raymond smiled, "Don't get too excited. This is our home. You can see it every day, no need to rush."
Seeing Paige's delight, Raymond felt a sense of accomplishment.
Paige, like a little girl who had never seen the world, circled the room and then returned to Raymond.
"You know, when I was very young, my mom..." Paige paused, her mood slightly dropping. To differentiate, she continued, "I mean, Mrs. Parker."
Raymond nodded, "I know."
"My mom also loved medieval oil painting style of decor. She studied interior design and had many catalogs. She would hold me and talk to me about these things. Maybe influenced by her, I also love this style. Do you know why?"
Raymond asked, "Why?"
Paige suddenly found it amusing. "Because I went through a period of poverty, living in a damp, narrow, and low house. But this style of decor is very expensive and luxurious. You need a big house to create that feeling. Back then, I wanted a big house with this kind of storied decor. Big and luxurious, feeling that every day spent inside would be stable."
As Paige spoke, Raymond felt a pang of sadness.
Paige had endured so much pain since childhood that a big house with this style of decor symbolized a life free from worry and full of stability for her.
Raymond hugged Paige tightly. "No matter what happened before, it's all in the past. From now on, it will be stable days."
Recalling the hardships she had endured, Paige smiled faintly. "It was only tough while going through it. Now, those things mean nothing to me. On the contrary, I'm grateful for that time, which shaped me into who I am today."
As Paige spoke, she indeed no longer cared about the hardships of her childhood.
She happily toured the room, and then Raymond led her to open the door to the walk-in closet.
Raymond said he had prepared a lot for her, but she had no concept of "a lot."
Now, seeing such a large walk-in closet, with wardrobes on several walls filled with clothes, accessories, and bags prepared for her, Paige turned to Raymond in surprise. "Raymond, did you buy out an entire mall and move it here?"
Raymond smiled, "I never had the chance to prepare these for you before. At first, the two-bedroom apartment we lived in was a temporary swap with Charles. Afraid of revealing my identity, I didn't dare buy you many clothes. Later, when we stayed at Willow Crest Estate, Pearl had already prepared everything for you. Now, I finally have the chance to create a home for us, with a dedicated walk-in closet for you. By the way, my stuff takes up some space too. You don't mind, do you?"
Paige had already seen the men's section.
Indeed, it took up one wall, including areas for men's accessories, shoes, and bags.
In the entire room, her things occupied four-fifths, while Raymond's took up only a small portion.
"During the days we didn't see each other, my dear Raymond was busy doing housework. You're not bad, very promising!" Paige praised him.
Paige suddenly felt that if she ignored Raymond's identity, he would indeed make a perfect househusband, doing housework and taking care of the kids.
She would be responsible for earning money, and he would be responsible for looking good and taking care of the kids.
Suddenly, Paige looked forward to such a life.
Raymond gently hugged Paige from behind. Paige leaned softly into Raymond's embrace, his chin resting by her ear as he whispered. "As long as you like it, all the housework in this room will be mine in the future."
Paige suddenly laughed and said. "I remember when we first met, you pretended to be an employee, and I pretended to be a nanny. Back then, I was thinking about how to elegantly not reveal my identity and keep you at home."
Raymond laughed while holding Paige. "So, in your eyes, I'm just a decoration. But it's okay. If you want, you can keep me at home now. I don't mind you earning money while I take care of the household, and I even look forward to such a life!"
Paige turned around, laughing, and looked into Raymond's eyes. "Such a life can only be imagined. Do you know, Emory from the Russell family chased me out of the party tonight and told me, 'Welcome back to the top-tier family game.'"
Upon hearing this, Raymond immediately became serious. "He said that to you?"
Paige nodded, "Yes." Her voice carried a pleasant tone, clearly confirming it.
Raymond said, "It seems we're not far from our ideal life. Now, the Russell family and the Hamilton family still don't know that Northwind's Carnegie family is the same Carnegie family from the former five great families. Although not in the same position as before, the Carnegie family and the Ellison family still have their strength."
The alliance between the Ellison family and the Carnegie family was natural, after all, Raymond and Paige were a couple!
Now, the Russell family and the Hamilton family were exposed to everyone's view. The Carnegie family and the alliance between Raymond and Paige were unknown to anyone.
Except for the completely fallen Douglas family, four of the five great families remained. Although the Carnegie family and the Ellison family were not as powerful as before, they were absolute allies.
And the Russell family and the Hamilton family were now superficially peaceful but actually hostile to each other!
Paige hooked her arms around Raymond's neck, smiling. "Tonight, we have the advantage. So we can relax and only talk about love. Raymond, you still haven't said how much you missed me!"
