Chapter 157 I Want to Divorce Raymond

Staring at the newly investigated information on the screen, Paige didn't blink once, just kept her eyes fixed on the computer page.

At this moment, Paige was only grateful that she personally investigated this woman, whose name turned out to be Madison.

After reading all the information she had gathered, Paige closed the laptop heavily.

Raymond really had an eye for people. He had found such a young woman to be his mistress. She wondered what exactly the eighteen-year-old Madison saw in him.

He was already thirty, yet she was still so passionate about him.

Clearly, he could be her uncle. How could she call out to him so sweetly.

Even though Paige was a woman herself, she found that voice intoxicating.

Luckily, she didn't have such a fetish!

"Pearl."

Paige shouted towards the outside.

Pearl wasn't resting at this time, but she wasn't always on standby in the third-floor study either.

After all, no matter how dedicated one was, they still need to rest, right?

Paige called out once, didn't see Pearl's figure, and directly called her on the phone.

Pearl answered the phone and quickly came upstairs.

"Xanthe, what's the matter? It's pretty late now. Why are you calling for me at this hour?"

Paige said, "Cancel tomorrow's family dinner. Also, book a five-star hotel for lunch tomorrow and invite everyone from the Carnegie family. Additionally, go to Windrain Tower and invite Raymond as well."

Pearl asked, "Raymond isn't coming home? Why is he staying at Windrain Tower?"

Paige replied curtly, "Just follow my instructions."

Pearl nodded. "Alright."

The next day, before Paige went out, she fed Grace lunch half an hour early and told her for a long time that she had a social engagement.

Grace had limited language skills, but her brain wasn't damaged, so she could understand that Paige was going out for a social engagement.

Although she was reluctant to let Paige go out, Grace finally nodded. "Ah... early... ah... back..."

Paige understood and smiled, saying, "Don't worry, I'll come back early. I'll come back right after I'm done. Wait for me at home."

Grace nodded again.

Paige drove out and went to the hotel Pearl had booked.

In the private room of the five-star hotel, Bradley had already arrived when Paige got there. Paige greeted him, and then Francesca and Louis arrived.

"What's the occasion? Why did you suddenly invite us to dinner?"

Francesca was originally busy; the anniversary celebration of Hawke Corporation had just ended a few days ago, and Paige and Raymond had gone abroad.

Francesca heard it was to treat Raymond's leg.

If Raymond's leg was healed and he could stand up, it would be the biggest threat to her son.

Francesca couldn't let it go unchecked, so she had people investigate, but found nothing.

She checked the best hospitals in the entire country and found no medical records for Raymond.

Hearing that Paige invited them to dinner today, Francesca naturally came.

After all, since they returned to the country, she hadn't seen them, and didn't know to what extent Raymond's leg had been treated.

If he could really stand up, she would have to speed up some of her plans.

Recently, Louis had been focusing on work. Although there were many people Francesca couldn't win over, there were still some she could.

After everyone was seated, Paige said, "I invited everyone to dinner today to announce something."

Bradley, hearing this, smiled happily and said, "Paige, are you pregnant?"

She and Raymond had been getting along well recently, and their relationship was very harmonious.

The key point was, they had gone on a trip.

After such a trip, she should have some results, right?

Bradley felt particularly good as he imagined Raymond and Paige were expecting.

But to Bradley's dismay, Paige said, "Dad, I'm sorry, this might not be good news."

Bradley's smile froze on his face. If it wasn't good news, then it was bad news!

Bad news would be troublesome.

However, Francesca became interested. Bad news?

No matter what the bad news was, as long as it didn't affect Hawke Corporation, it would be good news for Francesca.

If Paige announced that Raymond's leg could never recover and he would have to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, that would be even better.

Of course, Francesca thought this in her heart but couldn't say it directly.

Paige didn't hesitate and directly said, "Raymond and I have decided to divorce."

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone was shocked.

Bradley stood up immediately, thinking he hadn't heard clearly due to his age, and asked again to confirm, "Paige, what did you say you and Raymond decided?"

Paige lowered her head, not looking at Bradley. Her marriage to Raymond was strongly supported by Bradley, and he had full confidence in their marriage.

But Paige still repeated, "Dad, we decided to divorce."

Hearing the word "divorce," Bradley almost fainted.

Paige had a small bottle of quick-acting heart pills in her hand. She knew Bradley had heart disease, so she had prepared in advance.

Bradley staggered, and Paige hurried to support him, but he held onto the chair and sat down.

He took a breath before speaking, "Paige, how can you easily say these two words? You two finally became a couple. The Carnegie family has never had a divorce since our ancestors. You and Raymond were getting along well before, why suddenly talk about divorce?"

Divorce was too serious for Bradley.

Francesca, on the other hand, was quite surprised. She had previously wanted Louis to marry Xena and had hoped Paige and Raymond would divorce.

This way, she could better support her son from a generational standpoint.

But now, Francesca didn't want Paige and Raymond to divorce.

After all, Louis couldn't marry Xena anymore. Recently, there had been some rumors about Xena in the circle. Although no one had verified the truth of these rumors, they wouldn't appear out of nowhere. If Louis married Xena, it would be a joke.

The Carnegie family had no precedent for divorce. Raymond marrying Paige was now a good thing in Francesca's eyes.

Paige had no prominent family background to support her. Raymond marrying her lost a lot of support from other forces.

And Louis could marry a young lady with a similar family background, which would be a help to him in the future.

Francesca hoped Paige and Raymond would stay together forever!

So she persuaded, "Paige, did you have a fight with Raymond? Couples inevitably fight. How can you easily talk about divorce?"

Louis, however, hoped Paige and Raymond would divorce and immediately stood up, saying, "It's Uncle's fault for letting Paige down."
