Chapter 303 Madness, Burning the Last of Life Towards Her
The pain Xena felt in her jaw was so intense it seemed as if her bones were about to shatter.
Paige's strike was even more relentless.
However, when Xena's gaze was forced to meet Paige's, she could still see the exhaustion on Paige's face.
Suddenly, Xena, ignoring the pain, started laughing maniacally at Paige.
Her jaw was still tightly gripped by Paige, yet she laughed as if she was insane.
Even when she laughed with her mouth wide open, her teeth were stained with blood.
Once a proud and beautiful woman, Xena now looked as wretched as a demon from hell, laughing hysterically with a bloody mouth.
Paige, disgusted, flung her hand away, releasing Xena's jaw. With that force, Xena's weakened body collapsed onto the ground, her chin even hitting the ground.
But the next second, Xena struggled to prop herself up, using all her strength to get up, gritting her teeth because every movement made her feel like her entire body was in pain.
The intense pain spread throughout her body, but Xena, desperate, tried to get up regardless.
Her hands, covered in scabs, struggled to find support on the floor to stand up.
Paige watched Xena's movements, knowing that Xena wanted to stand up.
Originally squatting, Paige stood up herself, and the next second, she brutally stomped on the scab on Xena's hand with the heel of her high heel.
Xena screamed in pain.
Her body lay crumpled on the ground like a rag, but she looked up at Paige defiantly.
She cried out, "Paige, kill me, kill me! You can't, can you? You still want to know the secret from me, right?"
"Seeing me tortured like this, are you happy?"
" But then what?"
"Is that all you got?"
Xena, having gone crazy, roared at Paige.
She and Paige were like fated enemies!
At this moment of fateful confrontation, Xena knew she had no way out.
She had been driven to the brink by Paige.
Today, she had no way to survive.
Since she couldn't live anymore, she might as well burn her life completely!
Anyway, she could still live a little longer before Paige pried the secret out of her.
In this life, she had experienced both heaven and hell on earth.
She had been the heiress of the Northwind mansion, spoiled by Margaret.
She had also been the lowest prisoner in the Northern Country's prison, trampled into quagmire by a few words from Paige.
And at this moment, Paige looked down at Xena with intense hatred in her eyes.
As the hatred surged, Paige increased the pressure under her foot.
Xena couldn't bear it anymore, her angry roar turned into a scream the next second. Screaming didn't lessen her pain at all, and Xena continued, "Paige, you and I are destined to be mortal enemies. Even if I fall into your hands today and won't survive the night, I'm still the winner"
Paige took a deep breath, the pressure from her foot seemingly able to pierce through Xena's hand.
Blood oozed from where the heel met the flesh.
Paige's hatred seeped through her teeth, "Winner? In your eyes, my mother's life is your winning chip? Xena, you deserve all the tortures of hell, and I promise I'll send you there!"
Paige didn't really care about winning, she just wanted her mother back.
Those days she endured asan orphan, she didn't even dare to close her eyes to think about them.
But to Xena, hurting her mother seemed to become a victory over her!
How strong did Paige's heart have to be to endure such pain?
Xena, in excruciating pain, couldn't get up. One hand was pinned under Paige's foot, blood flowing, while the other hand instinctively grabbed Paige's ankle, trying to push her away.
But she was too weak to move Paige even an inch.
Rather, her freezing palm and the sticky and half-dried blood made Paige sick.
Disgusted, Paige moved her foot away.
Xena, still ignoring the pain, used all her strength to get up.
It seemed that standing and talking to Paige was the only way she could maintain her dignity now.
Xena used all her strength to get up, leaving a bloody handprint on the floor.
As she crawled, she provocatively challenged Paige's limits.
"I've already walked through hell on earth, consider it a trial run. If hell is my destined place, then so be it."
"But the esteemed heiress of the Sackler family, Mrs. Carnegie of the Carnegie family, have you been heartbroken and in agony during this time?"
"You can kill me, but I am still the one who destroyed your hopes from childhood to now."
"What I didn't get, you didn't get either."
"I am a pitiful person, and so are you!"
"No matter how many noble titles you have, don't you regret losing Mrs. Parker for the rest of your life?"
"She loved you so much, kept you in her heart, yet you two have never had even a single day of reunion."
"Either you were separated, far from each other."
"Or she was in pain, unable to even say she loved you."
"And in the end, she died, and you were separated forever."
Xena crawled, managing to get one leg up, but the excruciating pain in her foot made it impossible for her to stand. Just as she was about to fall, she gritted her teeth against the pain.
After holding on for several seconds, she started laughing maniacally again, "She's dead! Paige, didn't you ask me why, even though I longed for her love, I still poisoned her?"
"I'll tell you now, killing her and ensuring you two are forever separated is my greatest achievement in life!"
"And I willingly descend into hell for this!"
" if I can't have it, neither will you!"
Xena was ranting madly.
Paige, however, was unprecedentedly calm. All her hatred had transformed into this moment of cold composure as she watched Xena.
She knew exactly what kind of torment and pain Xena's body was enduring now, and she also knew this was Xena's final desperate strike.
If she were to kill Xena in a fit of rage, she would truly be a fool.
Being controlled by Xena's rhythm?
Impossible!
Xena had lost everything to this point.
Everything she desired, she ultimately lost.
She was dying now, and she still wanted to stab Paige's heart one last time.
Paige looked at Xena, realizing this was the person Margaret had cultivated.
A business mind wasn't something that could be inherited from a family of human traffickers, nor could it be learned through effort alone.
But under Margaret's guidance, Xena had learned some lowly tricks.
Paige gave her time. Today, she not only wanted Xena's life and the truth from her mouth, but she also wanted to destroy Xena's spirit.
To truly kill someone, you must first destroy their soul. This was Paige's ultimate revenge!
Paige looked down at Xena, who was using all her strength to stand up on her other leg.
With a gentle motion, she pulled out the necklace hanging around her neck.
The small, shining diamond carried all of Luna's love for her.
Xena gradually stood up, but her body was hunched and she couldn't stand straight.
Paige was taller than her, and with high heels, she towered over Xena even more.
So when Xena stood up, her gaze was level with Paige's neck.
The diamond reflected the light from the room, briefly blinding Xena.
Her gaze instantly fell on the necklace around Paige's neck.
Her previously arrogant eyes turned to shock and panic.
Xena pointed at Paige, "Where did you get it? Where did you get this necklace?"
Paige slightly lowered her head, her hand gently caressing the necklace, her fingers lightly holding the diamond as she looked at it.
After a few seconds, she spoke, "Do you know, there's something in this world that can't be stolen, can't be taken away, and won't disappear with time or life? That's love."
"Xena, you can't take away my mom's love for me. You can take her life, but you ca't take away her love and longing for me."
"In this life, no matter how far apart we are, she loves me, and I love her."
'That will never change."
"It won't change because of you."
"You may covet this coming-of-age gift, but you can't take away the motherly love she gave me."
"No, you can't even take this gift."
"Margaret told me you never wore this necklace after you got it. Why?"
"Let me guess, is it because you're unworthy? Because you know that while you can steal this necklace, wearing it around your neck would be a badge of your incapability and failure!"
"You don't even dare to look at this necklace, do you?"
"Because you know it represents a mother's love and longing for her daughter. That person is me, not you."
"What you crave, I've always had."
"Is it unbearable?"
"Does it break your heart?"
"The pain in your body is nothing compared to the desolation in your heart, isn't it?"
Paige, like a demon, peeled away Xena's heart layer by layer.
Every word she spoke stabbed at Xena's most painful weakness.
Xena kept saying that if she couldn't have Luna's love, she'd rather destroy it than let Paige have it.
She couldn't have it, so she killed Luna to prevent Luna from loving Paige.
Luna's love for Paige wouldn't fade away even after her death.
Xena ended up with nothing but empty efforts.
Paige looked at the diamond necklace as if she were looking at Luna, then suddenly smiled gently and looked down at Xena.
"You kept saying you wanted to be her daughter. How could you be so vicious to harm her like that? Hurting her again and again, even killing her. Xena, someone like you deserves to be abandoned, by your biological parents, by Margaret."
"Oh, and Elijah abandoned you too, otherwise, how could I have found you so quickly?"
"See, how much of a failure you are?"
"Killing my mother, does it fill the void in your heart?"
Paige knew the time was ripe!
She kept striking at Xena's deepest emptiness and despair, and Xena couldn't bear it.
Sure enough, Xena screamed like a madwoman, "Do you think I'm the only one who wanted to kill her? Even if it wasn't me, there were others. I'd rather she die by my hand than by that irrelevant woman's hand."
As Xena shouted these words madly, she extended her hand and pointed behind Song Paige.
