Chapter 217 Xena's Secret--Another Rare Blood Type?

After Louis signed the kidney donation confirmation, the doctor arranged a series of tests. Louis spent the whole day undergoing tests at the hospital, with some procedures scheduled for the next morning.

At noon, Paige arranged for a sumptuous lunch to be delivered to Louis's room. When Pearl brought the lunch, she didn't see Paige in the room. Noticing Raymond's serious expression, she understood that Paige had gone to the next room to deliver lunch to Louis.

Seeing Pearl, Raymond didn't say anything but went straight to the next room. When Raymond knocked and entered, he saw Paige sitting across from Louis, waiting for him to eat.

Louis, perhaps intentionally, was eating slowly, as if trying to stall for time. Raymond couldn't stand it and asked, "Not done yet?"

Seeing Raymond, Louis's expression became more restrained. He called out, "Uncle Raymond."

Raymond stood, looking down at Louis, speaking in a tone of an elder, "You're eating too slowly, not at all like Calum."

Louis glanced up at Raymond, his face darkening. Thinking that Paige had been busy all morning and hadn't eaten yet, Louis quickly finished his lunch and then said, "I've already delayed your meal time. You should go eat now."

Paige nodded. "I'll come back later." She left Louis's room.

As soon as she closed the door and turned around, she saw Raymond standing with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall. Paige couldn't help but laugh. "You're so petty!"

Raymond didn't expect Paige's first words upon coming out to be such an evaluation of him. "If I were petty, I wouldn't have let you stay with him until he finished eating."

Paige said, "Alright, I've already reminded him not to act recklessly just because he matches with Mom. He needs be responsible for everthing he's doing."

As Paige spoke, she linked her arm with Raymond's, and they walked together towards Luna's room.

Just as Paige was about to leave, she saw a familiar figure across the way. Seeing Paige stop, Raymond followed her gaze. "Xena was sent here too? If you don't want to see them, I can have them transferred."

Paige indeed didn't want to see them, but she still said, "Let them stay close. The pain they've caused me will need to be repaid someday." Paige would never let them off so easily.

Paige and Raymond returned to the small conference room next to the hospital room. After dining there, Amelia and Pearl also returned. Paige directly asked, "Amelia, I want to review Xena's medical report."

Amelia replied, "Generally, only the attending hospital and doctor can access her medical records in her status. Our hospital might not be able to get them, but if we can't find them..."

Before Amelia could finish, Paige laughed. "What a coincidence, she was sent to this hospital last night."

Amelia was shocked. "Xena was sent to our hospital? Ms. Ellison, please wait, I'll get it right away."

Without much effort, Amelia retrieved Xena's records from the VIP ward. Amelia waved the medical records in her hand. "Got it, very detailed!"

Opening Xena's medical records, Paige carefully examined them. She indeed found some anomalies in Xena's records with some missing parts.

There were no medical records for nearly four years. Previously, Xena had regular check-ups, but after that, she never had done it again. Even when she was ill, it seemed to be minor issues easily resolved with medication. Xena's health status seemed very strange.

Even Raymond, sitting next to Paige and looking at Xena's medical records, found it odd. "So many years without a single check-up? That's not like Margaret's style. With the Sackler family having only one heir, Margaret should be very concerned about Xena's health. This information seems too sparse."

Paige asked Amelia, "Amelia, are you sure these records are complete?"

Amelia nodded. "Of course, it's all here."

Just as Paige asked this, she suddenly realized something. She flipped back to Xena's birth records and found that Xena's blood type was rh-null. Paige was surprised. "Rh-null blood type?"

Seeing the blood type on Xena's birth record, Paige was indeed shocked. Raymond looked at Paige, very puzzled. Paige said, "Unless I was dreaming last night, this medical record has issues."

Paige slammed the medical record on the table, losing her interest. Amelia quickly said, "That's impossible. I personally retrieved this from the attending doctor. How could there be a problem? I..."

Before she could finish, Paige interrupted, "It's not your fault. The Sackler family must have tampered with this record. It looks like I'll have to investigate Xena's real medical records myself." Paige had initially been curious to read Xena's medical records, but she didn't expect there to be actual issues!Amelia frowned. "Is it necessary to fake a medical record? If they treat her based on a fake medical record, that could lead to big problems."

Paige thought of another possibility--the Sackler family might have faked the medical record to deceive Raymond out of his fifty million dollars.

In Northwind, the Carnegie family was very influential. It was possible to investigate the Sackler family's claims, including Xena's blood type.

The Sackler family had made thorough preparations within their capabilities. But unfortunately, fate was not on their side. Not only was their scheme exposed, but the medical records were now in Paige's hands. If Paige hadn't personally analyzed Xena's blood type last night, she might be misunderstood by this medical record.

Pearl immediately brought Paige's computer over. Paige instantly used her hacking skills to further investigate the hospital system. She thought, 'Does the Sackler family think they can get away with it? How Naive they are!'

After several operations, Paige pulled up another set of Xena's medical records. Paige didn't look from the present backward but directly flipped to Xena's birth records.

After pulling up the records, Paige focused on the blood type. Paige frowned, thinking, 'How could this be?'
