Chapter 202 Intolerable

Raymond and Paige had been apart for so long that they couldn't wait to get their hands on each other. But in the car, they tried to keep it cool. With the driver up front, they didn't want to get too wild.

Once they got back to Willow Crest Estate, Raymond scooped Paige up and carried her upstairs. As soon as they were in the room, he kicked the door shut and kissed her like there was no tomorrow.

Before long, they were on the bed, making out and rolling around. It was clear that just kissing wasn't gonna cut it; they were ready for more. The master bedroom was on fire with passion.

Meanwhile, back at the wedding venue that got totally disrupted, Charles, Pearl, and Amelia were busy handing out gifts that Raymond had prepped ahead of time.

The gifts were pretty fancy and included a fat check. As "hush money," everyone who got one was told to keep their mouths shut about what went down. If they had any photos, they had to delete them before leaving.

A storm was brewing in Northwind. When Raymond was in a wheelchair, everyone had to show him respect. Now that he was up and walking, no one dares not respect him.

Everyone knew that before Raymond was stuck in that wheelchair, he was a big shot in Northwind's business world. His ruthless ways were still the stuff of legends.

The guests today were all handpicked by Raymond, folks he might work with in the future. So, they deleted their photos and videos right in front of Charles and the others when they got their gifts.

Because of that, only a few rumors from the start of the wedding got out. For instance, the Sackler family heard that Raymond had married someone else, but they didn't know the wedding had gone off the rails. After the guests left, things calmed down.

Just as Charles was about to head out, Pearl and Amelia stopped him. Charles looked pretty pathetic and helpless in front of them. Amelia asked, "Come on, spill it. What's really going on here?"

Charles answered honestly, "Mrs. Smith, I don't really know. Mr. Carnegie didn't tell me anything. Up until today, I thought he was definitely marrying Lily. I only found out it was a setup when Mrs. Carnegie showed up."

Charles quickly distanced himself, as he really didn't know much. How could Raymond possibly share his plans with him?

Pearl said, not buying it, "You didn't notice anything while following Mr. Carnegie around every day?"

Charles cautiously looked at Pearl and lowered his voice. "Don't you also follow Mrs. Carnegie around every day?"

The more Charles talked, the quieter he got. Pearl glared at him, and Charles immediately shut up. Amelia asked, "Wasn't there anything weird going on with Mr. Carnegie?"

Charles thought for a moment, "Mr. Carnegie was all geared up and had me sleep in his bed one night. No matter who knocked, I wasn't supposed to answer. Then he climbed out the window and was gone for two hours. Does that count as weird?"

Pearl was floored. "Mr. Carnegie climbed out the window? That's nuts."

Charles nodded. "Yeah, He is so skilled that climbing out a window or scaling the walls of Willow Crest Estate is a walk in the park for him."

Hearing this, Pearl suddenly remembered something. "Right, Julian told me one night that a guy in black, wearing a hat, mask, and sunglasses, broke into the hospital. Xanthe didn't chase him and even pulled all the bodyguards. Could it have been Mr. Carnegie?"

Amelia got curious. "Did that really happen? I can have someone check the surveillance footage to see if it was him."

Charles laughed. "If it was really Mr. Carnegie, he would've dodged the cameras. No way the surveillance caught him."

That was Raymond. Not only was he super skilled, but his counter-surveillance game was also top-notch. If he wanted to avoid the hospital's cameras, they wouldn't catch him. All those years of training abroad paid off.

Meanwhile, back at Willow Crest Estate, the place was buzzing with passion. Paige had given everyone the day off before heading to the wedding venue, so it was just her and Raymond at home since Luna had moved to the hospital.

They made love until midnight, seemingly never feeling hungry or keeping track of how many times they did it. Their presence was all over the room and bathroom.

Afterward, they sat quietly side by side at the head of the bed. Paige was too exhausted to speak, her waist and legs aching like they didn't belong to her anymore. She looked at Raymond with a mix of exhaustion and resentment.

Raymond pulled her into his arms. "Honey, I missed you."

Paige took a deep breath. "Aren't I right here with you?"

Raymond immediately felt a bit miffed. "Does tonight's performance deserve more than a dollar?"

Paige suddenly looked up. "Do you need me to customize a trophy for you to hang around your neck?"

Raymond chuckled. "No need for that, just acknowledge my excellent skills..."

Before he could finish, Paige covered his mouth. "Mr. Carnegie, can we have some dignity? What's there to brag about in winning by quantity?"

Raymond felt puzzled, wondering if winning by quantity meant he wasn't winning by skill and time.

Raymond pulled the blanket over. "Okay, let's go again!"Actions spoke louder than words. After all, action was the best way to prove it.

Paige, already exhausted, was once again overwhelmed by Raymond's passion. So, unsurprisingly, the next day, Paige couldn't get up on time.

The next morning, the servants of Willow Crest Estate returned. Even Pearl, who had spent the night out with Amelia, came back.

Julian and the others were stunned when they walked in and saw Raymond, tall and upright, dressed in a robe and enjoying a cup of coffee on the first floor.

Even though they had seen Raymond stand up from his wheelchair in Arcadia, seeing him in a robe here was still incredibly shocking.

Raymond looked pretty sharp in his robe, but the tiredness on his face and the coffee he was chugging to stay awake made it clear what had gone down the night before.

Seeing everyone return, Raymond greeted them, "Good morning, I just got up. Last night was exhausting."

Julian and Pearl stared at him, shocked. After a moment, Pearl almost wanted to laugh, finding him so funny. He was Raymond, after all! Bragging about such things wasn't like him.

But Pearl kept her professionalism in check and just politely said, "Good morning, Mr. Carnegie. The chef is back in the kitchen. Shall I have her prepare breakfast for you and Xanthe?"

Raymond nodded. "Sure. By the way, Ms. Southern, could you spare a moment to talk to me about the Sackler family and Mrs. Parker at the hospital?"

Pearl nodded. "Of course, Mr. Carnegie, but perhaps you should freshen up first?"

Raymond, walking around in a bathrobe with the collar wide open, occasionally showed marks on his skin. It was obvious that he and Paige, being a married couple, hadn't been intimate for a while. Absence made the heart grow fonder, and after Raymond had whisked Paige away, it was clear they had a passionate night.

Raymond, always the tease, seemed to enjoy flaunting it in front of the single folks. He looked down at his clothes. "You're right, it's not very appropriate. Alright, Ms. Southern, please wait for me a moment."

With that, Raymond headed upstairs. After a few steps, he turned back to Pearl and added, "Oh, and don't prepare breakfast for Mrs. Carnegie. She probably won't get up until noon, so just have the kitchen prepare lunch for her."

Usually, Xanthe never delayed work and was always concerned about Luna at the hospital. Raymond didn't take the elevator but walked up the stairs. Pearl watched him until he disappeared, then muttered softly, "Handsome men can be so distracting!"

Julian, with a stern face, walked over to the coffee machine and helped himself to a cup of coffee that Raymond had brewed. After taking a sip, Julian squinted slightly. "He really knows how to enjoy!"

Hearing this, Pearl quickly went over to get herself a cup as well. She was surprised by the amount. Raymond had brewed just enough coffee for two extra cups. This made Pearl reasonably suspect that Raymond had planned a cup for both her and Julian.

In Willow Crest Estate, Pearl and Julian lived there long-term. Kimberly was usually stationed at the Universe Group, and Cecil had his own office filled with computers and didn't often stay here.

Pearl took a sip and was amazed. "As expected of the Carnegie family's heir, he really knows how to enjoy life. The best coffee beans, the most skilled technique, and just the right touch."

Julian, hearing Pearl praise Raymond, was displeased again. "These coffee beans were bought by you."

Pearl knew that, of course. She often had to brew coffee for Paige. "I know I bought the coffee beans, but I bought a bunch of different kinds. Mr. Carnegie has good taste, only picking the best. Just like he knew Xanthe was the best."

Julian's face darkened again. 'It is just Raymond's good luck; otherwise, why is he able to marry Paige?' But Julian kept those thoughts to himself; they didn't sound good at all. He shot a cold glance at Pearl. "Is a cup of coffee worth such praise?"

With that, Julian took his coffee and walked off. Pearl called after him, "Then don't drink it!"

Julian knew how to enjoy life, but his busy schedule didn't allow it. He was too swamped to brew coffee for himself. It would be a waste not to drink something ready-made, especially when it tasted this good. Drinking the coffee Raymond brewed felt like taking advantage of someone, and Julian felt justified.

Upstairs, Raymond quietly washed up and changed clothes before coming back down. As he walked down the stairs, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Ethan.

Considering what happened at the wedding yesterday, Ethan must have known everything. He was probably asking Raymond to explain. But when Raymond opened the message, he found that Ethan was informing him that the Sackler family wanted to bring the person who had saved his life years ago to meet the Carnegie family, instead of asking for an explanation.

Raymond paused on the stairs. When he was a kid, he had a rare disease that required a specific rare blood type to save his life. Originally, Louis should have provided this blood when his life was in danger. Unfortunately, Louis went missing after that car accident. At the critical moment, Ethan searched all over Northwind and finally found the needed blood type in the Sackler family. However, the Sackler family had never revealed who had saved Raymond at that critical moment.

Now, the Sackler family was proactively reaching out, even wanting to bring the person who saved Raymond to meet the Carnegie family. It was a great favor to save Raymond's life at a critical moment. Raymond naturally felt grateful, but thinking about the Sackler family, he couldn't help but frown.

He told Ethan he would go back in the afternoon, then hurried downstairs to find Pearl. Pearl explained the situation with Luna and the Sackler family over the past period. Raymond frowned while listening.

The Sackler family already knew Paige's identity, and Paige had started to strike against the Sackler Group without holding back. It seemed that the Sackler family had heard the news of him marrying someone else yesterday and came to seek support from the Carnegie family, hoping they would support the Sackler family and even challenge the Universe Group.

This plan sounded quite ambitious! It was indeed a life-saving favor, and Raymond was willing to repay it. However, the Sackler family's various actions and what they had done to Paige were intolerable to Raymond!
