Chapter 213 Protect Her with His Life

The slap rang in Xena's ears, making her head spin. Paige shouted at Xena again, "Tell me, whose blood is it?"

Out of nowhere, Xena started laughing like a maniac. Raymond's face turned dark as he walked up to Xena. "How dare the Sackler family make a joke about this?"

Paige asked again, "I'll ask you one last time, whose blood saved Raymond?"

Raymond glanced at Paige, his heart pounding. He thought, 'Is Paige the one who saved me? Fifteen years ago, Paige was just eight. The Sackler family is truly awful!'

This time, Xena spoke up. She looked at Paige coldly. "Yeah, the blood that saved Mr. Carnegie was yours. They brought you back from the countryside because they remembered you had a rare blood type. It just so happened that this blood type matched Mr. Carnegie's, giving you the chance to come back to your mom from the countryside."

Paige rarely thought about the pain and near-death experience from those years. Hearing Xena's words, Raymond was stunned, not knowing what to say. He looked at Paige, emotions swirling inside him.

Finally, Paige snapped, "Xena, let's settle the past and the harm you caused my mom today." As Paige spoke, she grabbed Xena's shirt with both hands and kneed her hard in the stomach.

Xena immediately curled up on the ground in pain, but Paige's anger didn't cool off. Even with Xena beaten and curled up, Paige kept punching her. She had never been this out of control, but she couldn't hold back this time.

Seeing that Xena was on the verge of serious harm, Raymond, who had been letting Paige vent, finally stepped in to pull her away, only to get punched in the cheek by Paige. Raymond's cheek turned red instantly.

Paige was about to hit Xena again, but Raymond hugged her tightly. "Honey, it's me. I won't hurt you." Raymond held Paige close, whispering in her ear, and Paige slowly calmed down.

Margaret, who had just arrived outside, saw Xena curled up on the ground with blood around her and rushed over in a panic. Margaret fell to the ground. "Paige, how could you hurt Xena? She's your sister! Why would you do this?"

With blood at the corner of her mouth, Xena was in great pain. Margaret held Xena's head. "Xena, are you okay? Wake up, what will I do if something happens to you?"

Margaret cried out, but hearing no response from Xena, she turned to Paige. "Paige, this is illegal! I'll sue you! I'll call the lawyer right now and send you back to prison. People like you should stay locked up forever."

Paige stood up, looking down at Margaret. "Sue me? Send me back to prison? Let's see who's really guilty here."

Margaret said, "I don't know what you're talking about. We would never do anything bad."

Paige's voice rose sharply. "Don't dare to admit it? But you dared to do it! You wanted to drain my blood when I was only eight years old. Do you remember where that blood went?"

Margaret trembled, slowly raising her head to look at Paige. She had just received fifty million dollars from Raymond, and now Paige had figured everything out. Margaret asked, "You and Raymond are already divorced."

"So, you ensured the money you got from Raymond would never be known to me, right? Margaret, I'm taking it all back because you owe me!"

As Margaret's heart filled with fear, Xena suddenly vomited blood. Margaret was terrified. "Xena, are you okay?" Margaret said, tears welling up in her eyes.

She knew shouting wouldn't help, so she turned to Paige for help. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault, take it out on me. Xena's already been beaten like this, please let her go for medical help."

Margaret then turned to Raymond. "The fifty million dollars from the Carnegie family, I'll withdraw it from the company in the next two days and return it to you. Mr. Carnegie, please comfort her. If Xena dies here today, Paige won't escape jail either!"

Raymond had no sympathy. However, Margaret's last sentence moved Raymond. So Raymond shouted, "Get out!"

Margaret immediately nodded, half dragging and half carrying Xena away from the scene.

After Margaret left with Xena, Paige turned her back to the door, closed her eyes, and her face was full of pain. It felt as though she had been thrust back into the nightmare of the past, experiencing the torment all over again.

Raymond walked lightly to Paige's side. "Honey, are you okay?"

Raymond saw the pain on Paige's face. Despite his inner turmoil, discovering that his benefactor was Paige made him overjoyed. Paige had once risked her life to save him, and he owed her a life. From now on, he would protect her and love her with his own life!
