Chapter 276 Paige, I'm Going to Kill You.
Raymond could tell she was in a good mood from her gentle smile.
He continued, "This method is genius. Once we let Lily out, we can control her easily."
Paige said, "We're going to be super busy next. We need to make a trip to the border, and we can't stop hunting for the secret funds. Since the clues have come to us, we have to use them. I've been thinking. Given how sneaky Lily and Oliver are, if we let them go easily, they might come back for revenge anytime. The best way is to find a method to completely threaten and control them."
Paige suddenly stopped talking. Raymond knew that Locas's lab had always been about researching medicines to cure and save people. Maybe this was a drug that Margaret and Xena had customized to deal with Luna, so Paige thought of using drugs to control people like Lily.
Raymond opened the car door, waited for Paige to get in, then closed the door for her before getting in himself.
After Raymond and Paige left the basement, Charles arranged for someone to take Oliver to the hospital. After seeing Oliver being taken to the hospital personally, Lily was driven to a secluded place. Then the driver threw a package beside her before departing without a word.
Lily picked up the luggage and opened it. Inside were her previously forged passport, some money, clean clothes, and food.
Lily knew that her mission officially started at this moment. In the next week, she had to take action, at least to get back to Arcadia. Otherwise, Paige would never give her the antidote.
Without the antidote, she would face death. Lily wasn't prepared to die, not now. If she died, Oliver wouldn't survive either.
With that in mind, she found a place to shower and change clothes.
Meanwhile, Paige and Raymond had arrived home and were having dinner.
After all, Raymond had dedicated to it, and the meals at home were always appetizing.
After dinner, Paige looked at Raymond and said, "I want to be alone in the study for a while."
Raymond understood. "Can you see the surveillance over there?"
Paige said she wanted to be alone, so Raymond guessed that there might be some news from Xena.
Paige didn't hide it and nodded seriously, "Yes, Xena is in Northern Country. In the next half month, I will make her suffer."
Raymond didn't stop her but held Paige's hand and reminded her, "If that affects your mood and makes you feel bad, don't watch it for too long. Promise me!"
Paige nodded. "Don't worry, I know my limits."
When Luna had just passed away, she couldn't hold it together since that was a primal instinct caused by the lack of family affection.
But now, the murderer, Xena, had been caught, Paige's mood wasn't that bad. After all, for her, catching Xena meant avenging Luna.
However, Xena had tortured Luna viciously for so many years, so Paige wouldn't let her go easily.
Raymond gently rubbed Paige's hair and let her go upstairs to the study. After Paige went upstairs, Raymond stayed in the living room downstairs to do some work. As soon as he turned on the computer, Charles came back.
"Mr. Carnegie, things are done. Oliver's been taken to the hospital, and we've left Lily outside with just the essentials."
Raymond nodded slightly, "What was her reaction? Did she show any dissatisfaction or desire for revenge against Paige?"
Charles scratched his head, "There shouldn't be any. We left as soon as we dropped her off."
Raymond frowned a bit. "Alright, just call to report next time. It's late; go home and rest. By the way, if Louis calls, tell him I'm busy!"
Charles said, "Yes, sir."
After that, Charles saw Raymond's look and left for the day. Raymond no longer lived in his own mansion but stayed at Paige's Willow Crest Estate, which had its perks. Back then, Paige had even wanted to divorce him.
Since he shamelessly stayed with Paige, his days had been happy and harmonious. Raymond thought about it and felt very satisfied. Even working on the computer felt exciting.
After Paige went upstairs, she closed the door to her study, which was specially renovated and very soundproof. Because she didn't want the servants passing by outside to hear Xena's wails.
In fact, Paige had already received some videos during the day, but because she was at the company, she didn't open them. She waited until she got home in the evening when the time and space were hers to open them.
In the video, Xena had only been in Quentin's hands for a day and was already disheveled. Because of the hot weather in Northern Country, Xena was only wearing cheap short sleeves and long pants.
On her exposed arms, there were obvious blood marks. Paige could tell at a glance that they were from being whipped or beaten with something like a cane. The video even occasionally captured Xena's pleas.
"Please, I'll give you anything you want. I beg you don't hit me."
The beatings Xena received were like a balm to Paige's wounded heart, helping her heal bit by bit.
After watching a few video clips, Paige opened the live surveillance that Quentin had set up for her, seeing what Xena was doing in real time.
The surveillance had no sound, so Paige couldn't hear what Xena was saying.
But because she was so familiar with Xena, Paige could read her lips when she spoke, naturally combining it with the situation at the time.
In Northern Country, it wasn't dark yet. Xena had a thick hemp rope tied in a loop around her neck. The loop was just slightly larger than Xena's neck. Without untying the knot, her head couldn't get out.
She was tied up like livestock, with someone holding the rope behind her, watching her do the dirtiest and hardest work.
If Xena showed any laziness or distraction, a whip would immediately lash her body. Paige felt extremely satisfied.
Paige had just spaced out a bit when she suddenly saw on the surveillance screen that Xena was whipped again. The whip was held high by a medium-sized but burly man and came down hard, leaving a blood mark on Xena's right cheek.
Perhaps because she had never endured such humiliation or pain, Xena dropped what she was holding and started crying.
Watching her curse, Paige could roughly translate Xena's lip movements, "I'm the daughter of the Sackler Family which is wealthy. Call my family, and they will pay whatever you ask. Paige, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you!"
Paige frowned. Seeing this, she rewound and watched it again, afraid she had misinterpreted. Xena still dared to curse her?
After replaying once more, Paige confirmed that Xena was indeed cursing her, so she picked up her phone and called Quentin.
